Life changed dramatically for Rajeev Khandelwal a year ago when he was launched as Sujal in Balaji productions' Kahin To Hoga on Star Plus. "I know it is the character which has made me," says Rajeev, 28(now 31).

"My parents wanted me to be an IAS officer," he says. Rajeev was in his eighth standard when his father, an Army man, took him for an audition. He got selected, but his father did not think it was worth missing school for three months. "I locked myself in my room and tore up my script, thinking I would never get an opportunity again," he says.

After graduation from St Xavier's College in Ahmedabad, he considered an MBA or computers, since he did not know how to pursue his childhood dream. But he went on to Delhi to try his luck.

"But nothing was happening in Delhi and I was not ready to move to Mumbai," says Rajeev. He began writing documentary film scripts (while in school he had received a national award for writing, from Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi), and with the money, he shot his own film on the Indian Army. It did not sell. "I realised there were many talented people around," he recalls. When he finally came for auditions at Balaji, he hoped that Ekta Kapoor would notice him. "Once she did, there was no backing out," he says.

He is now being piled with offers from film-makers and TV production houses. "The roles I have been getting are extensions of Sujal which I want to avoid," he says. "The day people call for Rajeev I will take the plunge."

Today he is king of hearts for his mind blowing hot dude acting and his gooood looks He really admires shahrukhs home mannat and he wishes that he owns a home and he would name it jannat

Dudes of tellydom….served hot!

Rajeev Khandelwal: No other character has been missed so badly as Sujal of Kahin To Hoga. Rajeev shot to instant fame by playing this lover boy role with great intensity. He has a mesmerizing effect on the fairer sex and he would win hands down if contested for the most loved actor in tellydom. His exit from Kahin To… affected both the parties; the show witnessed a fall in TRPs and he kept put of the limelight. Sadly, he has not been able to repeat the Sujal effect in roles that followed - whether in Time Bomb (Zee) or Deal Ya No Deal (Sony). But the Rajeev-Sujal fever amongst fans continues to rage. And viewers are anxiously awaiting his upcoming series, Left Right Left (SAB). With the promising promos of this show, we are optimistic that Rajeev will be back with a bang and will prove to be a lambi race ka ghoda.
