Kunal and Surily on a holiday

Kunal Kapoor aka Yudi of Left Right Left has found love. The actor is currently dating Surily Joseph aka MP of Remix fame. The two have been dating for over a year now. Kunal and Surily met on the sets of Remix two years back. They were cast opposite each other in the show and they instantly bonded on the sets. The duo were initially just good friends and started dating after knowing each other for ten months.

Kunal says, "When I met Surily we were just friends. I met her when soon after I had broken off with my girlfriend. Surily supported me a lot during my low phase. I used to hang out with Surily and the entire Remix gang most of the time after work. Also we used to spend as much time possible at a common friends place. I was attracted to her wit and sense of adventure. Surily understands me very well. Although she is four years younger to me, she is a mature girl."

Surily is completing her graduation and wants to be a ramp model in the near future.

She says, " Yes, we are going steady. Initially I was not attracted to Kunal at all as I was not ready for a relationship. We were thick friends when we were working together and after a year we realised that we had feelings for each other. We get along really well and our compatibility factor keeps our relationship alive. With Kunal around I can be myself and thankfully he does not behave like a typical guy. I enjoy the bike rides with him. Also, our similar tastes in traveling, books, music and movies keeps us going together."

So is marriage on the cards? "I think we are too young for marriage and still not confident to take the plunge. Also, I want to get financially secure before getting married. Marriage can happen anytime but it is not a priority now. I am happy as long as we are together and who knows we might just end up living in together in the near future," says Kunal.

The couple recently went for a sixteen-day-long bike trip with close friends. They visited various places like Chiplun, Goa, Mahabaleshwar, Kolhapur, Pune and Lonavla.

Gaurav and his diplomatic stands

More in news for his personal life, for a change Gaurav Chopraa is making it to the scribes for professional reasons.

There had been a lull in his career graph post his act in Desh Main Nikla Hua Chand and 'dum'daar moves in Nach Baliye 2. But now the scale is gradually moving high with the stubbled actor bagging a few promising assignments.

He has been zeroed in for the second innings of SAB's Left Right Left, though he maintained a stoic silence when asked to divulge details about the same. Our khabru who works overtime pegged us that he's also doing a new show, for which his 'no comments' stand was flagged. Along with these projects Gaurav will also be featuring in a music video for The Meet Brothers along with his lady love Narayani Shastri.

Gaurav it's high time that you cease the chuppi and flaunt your work portfolio just as you do when it comes to your social life.

Yeah, we know that telly actors Shveta Salve and Aparna Tilak are BFFs (Best Friends Forever) and all that, but what we didn't know was that they share their beachwear too!

Recently, the duo went on holiday to Goa and from the looks of it they didn't pack in all the basics.

Take a look at the pictures and you'll notice that both Shveta and Aparna are wearing the same flowery stuff.

Erm, we like you girls and everything but sharing undies is unhygienic, no?

Why is Aparna Tilak upset these days?

The actor is disappointed as hubby and badminton champ Amod Tilak can't participate in the World Badminton Championship.

For actor Aparna Tilak and husband Amod, the past few days brought a lot of disappointment. The actor is upset, because hubby Amod — who is a badminton champ and has won many tournaments — couldn't participate in the World Championship that will be held in China. Amod along with partner Milind Ghate had won the World Championship in the 40 plus category in 2005. "They couldn't go to defend their title because they couldn't put together funds for two tickets. Between the two of them, they could only afford one ticket. Last time too they had paid from their pockets, but this year we couldn't pull it off," she says. She adds that they also sought help from the the Badminton Association of India, but couldn't get any help from there too. "Some of the top officials at the association work with some leading airlines, we asked them to waive the fees on one ticket, but they couldn't do us a small favour," she says. The tournament is held every two years, with over 96 countries participating in it. "Last time too, we weren't even given proper Tshirts that could tell us apart as a team. We got our own T-shirts printed with the name of our country on it. And this is not the first time it's happened," says Amod. Amod who's a doctor by profession says he has continued to be dedicated to the game. They had also approached various business houses, but couldn't manage to collect any funds. Aparna says, "Despite his late working hours Milind and he take out time to practice everyday. And they aren't asking for much, but it's very disheartening to see that they are not given tickets, when our cricket team despite losing matches is allowed to fly first class. That's the irony in our country."

SAB shows set to make a comeback

After the World Cup, SAB will be back on the airwaves with its array of existing and new shows on April 30. Vikas Bahl, Sr VP and Business Head talks about his plans to bring the channel on track...

What kind of preparations are you making for the relaunch?
It's not a relaunch. You can call it a comeback or a process of consolidation. It's basically a season II of all our existing shows which include Mohalla Mohabbat Wallah, Left Right Left, Yes Sir and FIR. We are also launching two new interesting shows Anurag Basu's Love Story and Sanjay-Benaiffer Kohli's Four.

How are you planning to woo your viewers back to the channel?
Season breaks are a worldwide phenomenon, it's only in India that it's not practiced. In any case, we had left most of our shows at an exciting phase where the viewers will want to come back for more. The last episode of Left Right Left ended on a gun shot filmed on three key characters Naina, Rajveer and Shweta. Nobody knows who's been shot of who has shot. Also the spy who entered the Academy has been identified. Mohalla... was left at a point where a new girl has entered the colony, while the old girl Neeru who was the centre of attraction and wooed by all the mohalla guys, has left.
Now, the question is whether the guys will chase the new girl or be heart-broken over Neeru's exit? FIR and Yes Boss are weekly sitcoms which will continue. Will Rajeev Khandelwal and Shweta Salve continue to be a part of Left Right Left?
Yes and there will be new surprises in it. Tell us about Love Story and Four?
Love Story is a fast paced, new-age romance with a thriller element in it. It's something you have never seen on Indian television so far. It's about this boy and girl who fall in love in college and the ups and downs they face when they come out of college. Four is a story of four friends who have to face the toughest phase of their lives after they graduate and how their friendship endures through the turmoil. What is your marketing strategy?
Initially, we launched the teaser campaign 'Buddha hoga tera baap' . The next campaign will be about where are our shows leading to? These will be aimed at everyone who's young at heart. We are using outdoor, print and radio for our promotionals. The channel is aimed at the 'Progressive New India'. So much TV has been regressive that you will find the mindset of viewers watching a show like Left Right Left completely different. We are catering to the 15- 34 age group and have a heathy mix of programming with 20 per cent devoted to comedy.

What is your channel's position amongst the others?
It fluctuates between No. 3 and No. 4 but we are running neck-and-neck with STAR One.

It's been a long break for Gaurav Chopra whose last show was Aisa Des Hai Mera. Though his girlfriend Narayani Shastri has been doing a DD weekly after Nach Baliye, Gaurav stayed away from acting after Aisa Des… went off air in January. Now Gaurav has signed two shows, one of them is Tony and Deeya Singh's musical saga Jhoome Jiya, to be aired in May.

The other show is a popular daily where Gaurav will make an entry in a key role towards the end of April. "I can't talk about the shows because I am not allowed to speak before the announcement comes from the channels," says Gaurav. "All I can say is that I am playing important roles in both the shows."

jodi that has been catching everybody's eye. The couple's pairing in SAB's Left Right Left was certainly one to look out for. But Aamna shouldn't worry too much. After all, Shveta has Rodney Barnes to go home to!

Tantrum throwing Hooda eats
humble pie!

We all know that Tony and Deeya's shooting for Sab's Left Right Left is in full swing. Our khabru has got some interesting news from the sets.

Now we all know about Vikas Manaktala's infamous temper tantrums which were regular earlier on the sets the first season of Left Right Left. Recently there was a huge fight on the sets of Left Right Left and the shoot had to be put on hold for nearly 5 hours. And no prizes for guessing the culprit – Yes, it's the same trouble monger Vikas Manaktala aka Hooda. "A big sequence was to be shot and this guy refused to get into the costumes provided by the production house. He refused to shoot unless and until he was given clothes of his choice," says our informer.

Generally this sort of flaring tempers, abuses and unprofessional attitude creates bad blood, leading to depression among other costars. While the arguments and settlement take place, the rest of the cast cool their heels in the rooms but much time is wasted and this results in frustrations.

Finally he had to eat humble pie as the production house DJ's refused to give in to his demands. Precious time was wasted for nothing.
