Episode ~27

Dinner time
The episode begins from the point where Dutta turns to his mother, his eyes are shining and crystal clear and so is his voice, Aye, so what if I was not born to you? I've been raised by you, not all relations are blood ties, as far as my memory takes me, I have been blessed by your love, he recollects with a happy look in his eyes.. he raises his eyebrows to Kala and Leela , and these three are closet to my heart. There can be no bigger bond than this..his sisters giggle and smile with sisterly affection for him , their only brother. Aye Sahib the beaming mother can only look to the heaven's and pray, lord , please protect my family from evil shadows, may the one who attacked my Dutta burn in hell. Dutta on hearing her last words goes into some deep thought, but his sisters acclaim their mothers curse. Then Aye snaps Dutta's thoughts as she encourages him, eat something, and then turns to Kala and Leela you too sit down and eat. Aye Sahib notice Leela's hand on her shoulder and asks, what has happened to your hands?. Dutta looks up at his sister and gives a half dry look, as Kala replies with a smile , nothing Aye .. not satisfied she asks Leela , what has happened? Who also says nothing.. and then becomes silent.Dutta looks down and feels uncomfortable ,seeing that he was the cause.His sisters before their mother start feeding and pampering their brother once more time. ..as Aye Sahib looks on and smiles and smiles at her happy children.
Meanwhile Sethji takes Naku by the hand and says come! but she hesitates. Sethji ..I told you no mischief, Naku warns , yes I know ,come on he says, and begins to rub his hands on a gigantic silken tapestry. Naku pulls him away, Sethji let's go.. she urges her brother.
Dutta emerges followed by his sisters, and they all stand before the huge idol of Bapaa. Kala reaches out for a black thread that lies on the arti thali. She, then turns and ties it on her brother's wrist , who is confused, Tai what is this for?. Kala says, with a ravishing smile, because you are very innocent, and this world is very bad, keep this thread tied to your wrist, it will protect you from curses and evil eyes. Dutta gives a nod and a smile and all three pray before Bappa.
Kala performs his arti and the sisters express their affection, for Dutta by singing a popular Bollywood song"mera bahiya".
Naku and Sethji walk along the hall and catch sight of a relaxed ,smiling Bhau surrounded by his loving sisters. Naku gets her first sighting of Bhau's sisters .
Each of his sister tries to outdo the other by expressing her love for him. Aye Sahib looks on in delight as a proud mother, how well the siblings get on with each other.
Naku and Sethji, continue down the hall , looking around the house. Naku comes to the dining table all laid out neatly , everything in place. Sethji touches things and is told off by Naku ,put it down! I told you not to mess around, come on. On second thought she urges him, Sethji ,let's go back, but he presses, let's look round some more ,Tai ..but she turns a deaf ear and says come on!
This scene highlights step sibling bonds.. now you judge for yourself the sincerity of these bonds.
Down the wooden stairs comes a servant with glasses of milk to to keep abreast with a little girl who runs ahead of him with a doll in her hand. She screams, my doll is starving since morning! and behind her runs a little boy too, both shout, I don't want milk!! The servant chases them and the girls collides head on with Naku in the hall. The boy takes one look at Naku and goes ghost! ghost! ghost!, really the same reaction as Mangla's son. Sethji grinds his teeth at the little boy
Naku meanwhile crouches on the floor much worried and holds the little girl's crying face, did you get hurt? please get up and she holds the little girls arm to help her stand up , but her brother pulls Naku's arm away and yells, "hey you ghoul! don't touch my sister!. Sethji had enough, and he yells back , you'll call my sister , a ghoul?. The boy says , I will ! ghoul! ghost!.
Naku stands crying.. silently. Sethji to shut the boy up, grapples him and takes him down to the floor, you call my sister a ghoul? and Anay continues yes I will! Naku yells at her brother who overpowers Anay , Sethji stop it! and she pulls her brother away and attends to Anay on the floor... she helps him to get up as she palms his face he bites her palm and yells, grandma! aunty! grandma he yells.
Leela comes running followed by Kala,whats wrong? what's happened?. Anay points to Naku and Sethji and reports, he pushed me!
Both the sisters look at Naku who cries, but sill holds her brother protectively. Leela asks , who are you? how did you get inside?.Kala stops her, just a minute Leela .. no one enters Bhau's house without permission. Ganpat and Babi too rush to the scene. Roops to joins her sisters, who brought you here? she asked with authority. Naku just weeps , silently , and Kala yet again asks , look girl! who are you? Babi is taken aback by the militant attitude of these women. Babi meets Bhau's sisters for the first time.. Leela mumbles, don't know who has brought her here? she scared my little angel!.. speak up witch! who are you? Babi attempts to rescue her daughter but Ganpat pulls her back. Naku , finally smiles nervously and admits the simple truth about her appearance.. kids got scared at seeing me! I didn't do anything, she assures them.
Dutta walks past at the right moment and pauses to take note of the kafuffle. Babi Ganpat and Naku with heads bowed and subdued and his sisters with fuming looks. He looks on perplexed.. Kala on the other hand accepts Naku's answer and says, fine but who brought you here?
Dutta watches the interrogation silently, and he hear's his mother say , I brought her here! Kala turns her head and looks at her mother. who looks towards a grateful Babi. Aye Sahib comes to Kala and makes it clear to her and all others, I have brought her here , did you know this girl saved your brother's life.. the tables turn and the sisters smile..or rather the person to thwart there further efforts is here before them.. surely the one to watch out for, if they wish to succeed in their secret mission.
Naku is finally accepted in the household by all .Leela comes to her and puts her bandaged palms on Naku's shoulders, and says, really?, we didn't know that this girl saved our Bhau's life?. Naku weeps quietly her eyes lowered. Roops too , gives a smile and says , thank you so much for saving our brother's life... she's so cute.. Tai, and look at this kid! he's very sweet right! Kala finally goes to Naku and says, with a charming smile, please forgive us, we didn't know who you were? my sisters mocked at you unknowingly , we'll be indebted to you forever.. in fact , from now on you're the apple of our eyes, just let us know, if you need anything.. Naku folds her hands , Aye Sahib smiles and Dutta moves off with a little scowl.. good the sticky situation has been sorted ,by his mother. But, Babi still looks weary, perhaps unhappy her daughter is once again due to her , being scoffed at.
Once back in their outhouse, Ganpat comments, what a drama!. Babi takes her son to task why did you go out?. Ganpat yells we had to come out without finishing our meal, because of you, and he greedily licks his fingers, as Sethji palms of the blame on his sister, I didn't go Tai , took me out!. Babi turns to Naku, why did you take him out?, Naku defended , it wasn't me it was him. Fed up, Babi shouts come and eat your food! both of them blame each other! She complains. All eat, along with having their usual go's at each other. Naku sits aside and her mother calls her too but she says, Aye I'm not hungry. Babi studies her daughter's face and wonders what is bothering Naku, and then goes to her and says, I know why you don't feel like eating, you felt insulted because of what they said. Naku smiles and replies, no Aye it's not that, I don't feel bad at being called names..ghost, witch, etc. any one can get scared by such a face.. I was just thinking how much they love their Bhau how much they care for him. Babi smiles and warns her daughter, Naku you are not worldly wise ,what you see is not always real..love, extra sweet behaviour..means there is something wrong somewhere.. forget them..why should we care, we finally found some help, a roof above our heads, escaped from the clutches of Morey, that's it!.. so the tone of the serial is now subtly spelt out. Naku, ponders over her mother's words.. Babi forces her to eat and she does. The family eats their first good meal at Patil Nivas.

Kala, Dutta conversation
After dinner in the blue peacock outside cozy corner area, Dutta attends to calls from well wishers. Baji , his arm in a sling to, is with him, he reminds him ,Bhau Kisna's land issue? Dutta confirms, yes I have spoken to the chieftain of the village, you finish it off. Baji says ,but Bhau if the matter becomes serious ? Dutta replies, look whatever happens , I don't want bloodshed. Baji says blood shed.. and he shuts up, as Kala comes carrying a tray with a tall glass of haldi milk on it, and says , Baji ! ,you're still here !will you let my brother rest or not? now get going!let him rest! Here's some milk for you ,here take it! and don't you dare enter here before 10 in the morning! now go!.. Baji raises his haldi milk and says cheers Bhau !and leaves.
Kala sits on the teal blue settee and offers Dutta the glass, take Bhau! your share of the turmeric milk. He puts his glass on the table and relaxes his arms on the back of the settee. Kala gives him a beaming smile, Aye Sahib was going to come herself, I didn't allow her, she hasn't slept for two nights. Dutta turns his head the other way and Kala looks at his serious profile, and continues to comment, Bhau , you'll have to be careful with one thing, you don't understand people , you can't tell good from evil, because you trust everyone.. that's why these things happen to you..you have been dangerously attacked, it's possible that some insider is involved? ..does she mean Baji??.. Dutta turns to look at her with narrowed eyes and then lifts her bandaged palm,I n his palm and strokes the top of her hand with his other hand, changing the subject he says, how's your hand?.. Kala nods her head, don't! worry about my hands!. and he retorts firmly , and you stop worrying about me Tai .. Kala persists, you are very innocent Bhau , learn to doubt about things ..and remember! even good intensions sometimes brings evil results...and sometimes the evil is good! anyway, forget it , go to bed now... come get up and god to bed.. she coaxes him and he gets up . she grabs his blazer and both brother and sister head towards his room , and he asks, are they both asleep?. Kala says yes, Roops and Leela both are asleep, tomorrow there's a prayer at the temple...now you to off to bed..and Dutta takes his blazer from her and urges her to get some rest as well.. once he's goes in his room, Kala closes his door behind him.
Kala barges into her own room, where Leela looks up at her, and Roops paces the floor. Kala looks at her sisters and bolts her door from the inside.. and the three smile at each other mysteriously.. episode ends.. Hamlet53 2.10.13

Precap: Kala peels off wax from her palms.. and asks Roops to get some chilled wine..
N.B.. ok thanks for responses.. fassben , alex, bart funny song.. along with a great comment.. so I take it the show goes on.. have to say it feels like watching the serial for the first time.Mishal/Dutta is elegance personified, very graceful. He's lean which makes him look meaner and lacks warmth, moves in delayed action.. But have to sayin this episode he smiles and relaxes a lot .Babi has x-ray vision.. now this I didn't notice before , but she is the first one who reveals the plot.. things are not as they seem. May be so, for she herself is the one who knows best.. dusky Naku...
