Roopa, you're watching NBT? Why don't you join in the discussions in the forum then? :-)

As for ASR...are ppl in here SERIOUSLY wanting MR to do a role that consists of 15 minute long lame eyelocks, trip/catches, dupatta sequences and EVERY lame cliche that you can possibly imagine?

I am a silent reader in NBT forum right now though not regular :)
will surely join in..😊

Ha ha ha - I see you've been watching closely😉. I think you are more than a bit harsh in your assessment. There are layers to the ASR character as well. It's not all eyelocks and dupattas - unless you've just been catching up on those scenes on Youtube - just sayin'😆

Arrey bhai ek mayan mein do talwarein - I mean two gorgeous talented boys can totally coexist in the same industry without folks going to war over them. I think both Mishal and Barun are talented.

Barun is not expressionless - in fact he has a rather lovely expressive face. He underplays his character and reigns himself in both body language and in facial expressions (this would be evident if you've watched Baat hamari pakki hai - there he's exaggerated). This works well for portraying ASR - it makes him stiff, rigid and flawed.

Mishal does the same thing with different characters. As Dutta his body language is forceful, his eyes firm and yet vulnerable. His dialogue delivery is masterful - every word is measured and enunciated beautifully.

Both are very good at modulating their voices. And if you've watched all episodes of IPKKND and LTL (I have - till the point Mishal left) you've know that both went through a tremendous learning graph through their respective shows. Which is all good.

In any case, if you feel so strongly about this, then let's just agree to disagree and leave it at that.

Closely? Heavens no...but unfortunately lameness of this sort has too many takers on IF to avoid being assaulted by sigs/avis no matter where you go...I don't even need to watch this show to know exactly what's going on in it...it's ridiculously predictable and cliched.

Did you seriously just compare Barun Sobti's non-existent "voice modulation" with that of MR...wow...yeah that just completely ends this debate...I could even give you the fact that the guy can maybe have one expression in a blue moon...but VOICE MODULATION? Umm no offense but his dialogue delivery is pathetic...he lacks clarity and the ability to do pretty much do anything with that voice of his...he's not even REMOTELY in MR's league...

@Anu: Thanks for Avi...

#ASR... I agree with you... the PH has some affection to the characters Rude angry Boss, Suit-Dupatta assistant and fellow grey shades in minies...

They have been repeating same concept since ages... only actors change... first Amar Upadhaya... then GC... and now... BS...

agree that these types of roles won't suit MR... He requires something special penned down only for him... 😃

Arrey bhai itni narazgi kyon - relax, calm down 😊. Its absolutely fine if you don't like IPKKND. Every story on this earth is predictable and cliched at this point - it essentially boils down to how you connect to the protagonists. I like Sanaya and Barun, so I watch the show.

Barun has been modulating his voice quite well lately, a lot better than the early episodes. Let's give credit where credit is due. As I said, this is so not about comparing the two. They are both talented and are perfectly suited to the roles that they played. Ismein jhagda kis baat ka?

Given that Mishal wants to break into Bollywood and given his looks, surely he'd have to play quite a few such cliched and predictable characters. Tab kya raai hogi aapki 😛? Even the most cliched character can be made compelling with the right talent.

@bold...oh, Wow! Umm..well he sure is underplaying his...umm...character very well. The 'body language' specifically says it all.

You know, rarely has any post from in IF member ever left me so dumbstruck. It took my mind full 10 minutes to function again after reading this post.

None of the characters on TV today will allow him to showcase what he is capable of. For him a completely different character needs to be created.
Regarding ASR/sobti and mishal 😳 ermm come on people no way, no way. ASR's character is soo flaky. Plus Sobti is still a newbie.
No offense to any fans :)
