once hopping channels i watched geet at the begining the story was very different NRI abandoning his wife after marrying her for dowry, got hooked watched until trip and catch for months couldn't take it any more it was nothing more than cheap teenage thrills i so wanted the story to continue with the issue of people marrying of their daughters to NRI'S without doing proper checks on them, for that i would have even accepted any actor. many people have told me if i liked ltl i'll like IPKKND i tried once but it looked total waste of time couldn't get into it. no offence to anyone watching it including F&Fs but they just don't get the charm of ltl.

And to imagine the concept of PV actually intrigued me at first. Till I saw the shirtless promo.
I feel that bringing the concept of remarriages is very neccessary in today's times when marriages are breaking up. Thats why I liked the concept. Ive seen divorced women in small towns are looked down upon and at times even treated as everyone's property which is very sad. Meanwhile its ok for men to marry more than once and can even land 'virgin' bride. Women and their families tolerate lot of abuse due to fear of rejection of society. I liked the NBT promos too but the slot is a big no-no.Originally posted by: nureat01
The concept never intrigued me cuz it seemed too heavy duty saas-bahu types in the initial promos anyways...the baggage of the kids was just like woah and very cliched with the little kid hanging on to his mom's pallu and the guy having two daugthers...ideal recipe for every "Main in bacchon ko maa ka pyar dungi and main iska daddy banunga" type predictable stuff.
The only new show promos that have intrigued me in recent times are those of NBT...they were genuinely different from the run of the mill.

I take responsibility for openly criticizing Barun's acting skills...so the brickbats are welcome in my direction if anyone wants to do that.
I don't think that reflects the general tone of the forum...all the MR + Barun fans are anyways ex-LTL fans busy drooling over that show in that specific forum...I'm not going and messing their "happy times" in their forum...the topic of ASR was brought up here in relation to MR so I expressed my opinion on every angle of that...from the character itself to the actor who just makes an already super-cliched character all the very lame with his stunted "acting"
I can name sidey actors who are a million times better actors than Barun Sobti...the KIDS in Na Bole tum act a million times better than Mr. Sobti..."HAWTNESS" is not automatically equal to great acting talent...playing an angsty character does not automatically equate to epic acting...Mr. Barun Sobti's fame all stems from playing a textbook "angsty" character stuffed with every cliche in the Mills and Boons universe...in that case, ANYONE can play an "angsty" character and automatically become a "great actor"...cuz apparently it really doesn't require much ACTING.

@bold: sure thing I can read that 😆 but initially, it started with discussion of ASR's character and then all of a sudden fans of Barun jumped to talking about his acting skills. LTLians didn't actually make the move about openly discussing Barun, if you know what I mean. I just don't like the idea of the forum being labelled as phangirly or conveying a certain bitter tone.

Barun and Sanaya are not the protagonists...they are the actors playing the protagonists...I don't watch shows simply for the actors I like when there is no basic meat to the characters to begin with...and just to clarify, I'm not upset...just because I'm making a point in a forceful tone doesn't mean I'm "naraaz"😊
De diya gyan? Mil gayi tassali? The second sentence wasn't necessarily following from the first. I said even a run of the mill story can seem fresh depending on how the audiences connect with the protagonists. And then I said I like the show because I like Barun and Sanaya. Seriously, if you want to go there with this condescension then I can totally bring it on. Let's discuss classical Greek theatre, protagonists, antagonists - the works (I actually speak Greek so you bet I know what protagonist means in its original sense - - FYI it means main actor).Comparison toh ban gaya inevitably when half the ppl in here instantly jumped to wanting MR to play the character of ASR...and when you added that you see so many similarities in their acting styles, I was just too aghast that I had to reply...I don't give credit where it's not due...and Barun Sobti can never even be remotely in the same STRATOSPHERE as MR...I don't even need to be a "fangirl" to say this...I could turn this around on you and say that being a Barun fangirl, you find him equivalent to any good actor when he clearly isn't one...MR is not the only good actor on TV...I could compare acting styles of say him and someone like Ronit Roy...I can understand someone saying they both have good voice modulation... But Barun Sobti? Not in a million years. You are a fangirl - it's alright, there's nothing wrong with it. Just coming clean about it to yourself would be a good idea. I did not compare Mishal and Barun - all I said was that both are talented in their own way. You could have just disagreed with me and left it at that. I've already stated that I've watched both shows - all the episodes before drawing my conclusions. You didn't even bother to watch the other show - apparently a good argument doesn't need some experiential knowledge to back it up?Yes, and that right talent is NOT Barun Sobti...I'm not saying every character that MR has to play has to be path breaking...but I would never in a million years want him in cliched trite STAR ONE variety crap like that Is Pyar show...so far MR has never done a show like that so I'm sorry if I do have some faith in his taste😊...Barun Sobti and his chaddi dance in his previous show are ample testament to his taste and abilities as an actor.Bechara Mishal khud ko bhi itni achhi tarah se nahin jaanta hoga jitna tum usse jaanti ho? Ha ha ha - and yet you are not a fangirl - ajab aur ghazab! I think the reason that Mishal avoids a lot of TV shows is because he has his eyes firmly planted on Bollywood. You really think that if Sanjay Leela Bhansali had offered Sanwariya to him he wouldn't have done that towel dance? Are you going to question Ranbir's taste and abilities as an actor?Ek muft mein gyan meri taraf se - it's an unfair burden on an actor to always adhere to the tastes and sensibilities of a few of his fans. I can watch Tarkovsky and I can watch David Dhawan, Om Puri can do Ardha Satya and he can do trashy comedies. It's all fine.
There are other actors in various serials with amazing fan following... I am sure they all are doing a great job and I am happy for them.😊
For me its only Mishal Raheja..a brilliant actor with tremendous screen presence. He is very selective and I have complete confidence in his ability to make a comeback with that perfect role. Like Anita has already mentioned...for me watching him act is enough.
Also, LTLians and this forum rock ! 👍🏼
