Inspite of the main lead Nakusha (Mahi Vij) being portrayed as ugly the show went on to become a huge hit. The viewers found it endearing when the handsome Duttabhau (Mishal Raheja) fell in love with Nakusha even though she looked ugly. Currently in the show Dutta is upset after finding out that Nakusha had hidden the truth about her looks from him but the audience cant wait to see their favourite couple back together, leading a happy married life.[/quote]

I think this bit especially is a big achievement and what really sets LTL apart. Everyone who came across this show for the first time, whenever that may have been, probably found the way Nakku looked so, so jarring and the concept of it all even odd to some extent at first sight...but the fact that they managed to hook viewers without banking on the usual good looks and chemistry funda shows what an engaging story they've written, one that can back them up without resorting to the usual conventions.

Yes I agree...most people at first glance found the show jarring...including me. No wonder it was one of the most underrated shows at the time of its launch. And stories of ugly ducklings have been told many times...its the treatment which has set the show apart so far.

Thanks for sharing. LTL was a surprise and this show became my first favorite show and the best part was the fact that the TRPs audience also love it. LTL rocks. Finally some good articles from indya.com now I have hope that india-forums will also give a positive article/interview of this amazing show.
