Her steamy affair led to a hasty marriage, and in her seventh month of pregnancy, she discovered Rob's shameless self centred infidel nature. She tried talking to Rob, but soon realised that it was of no good. The prince charming was a beastly character to the core. He was greedy and extremely materialistic. When Roops annulled her marriage, and returned back home, pregnant and emotionally fragmented, Rob did nothing to get her back; not even as much as a phone call to ask about her or the baby.
It was only a couple of years ago when Roops' parents were killed in a car crash which left Roops with a lump sum amount of property, when Rob got back to her and challenged for a custody over their daughter. He just hoped to make some quick bucks from the alimony that he would charge from Roops, if he won, on grounds of proving Roops a senseless and irresponsible mother. Little did Rob know that he was trading on the wrong ground.
Naku was calculating the initial costs and charges of their new project, over the spread sheet in her laptop. Roops was busy with the calculator and a pen and paper; little Anu was happily pounding her hands on the floor and rolling over with all the toys that were spread around, when the phone in the living area buzzed. Roops answered it and after a couple of "Hello" her face turned pale and in an anxious voice she said "Leela!"
Naku looked up from her lappy when she heard Roops say "Leela darling why are you crying baby?" Naku got up from her seat, came to Roops and gave her a questioning look, and when Roops switched the speaker on; Naku could only hear muffled cries. The question was answered with a crying howl that indicated that Leela was absolutely broken down. This is where Naku's formulae of 'matter of fact' behaviour came in use. She asked Leela "Where are you?""No port wine" Leela replied.
"Eh!" both Roops and Naku blurted out aloud. Roops could not resist she added "Try orange juice, its better and keeps you in your senses" and stifled a little giggle. Naku gestured Roops to stop her little mirth and gave an incredulous look at Roops. Roops raised her hand s and mouthed a silent "Sorry", still trying to stifle her laughs.
"So where are you, in Dubai or Athens?" asked Naku
"Athens, in a hotel room having a bubble bath to be precise." Leela replied.
"Okay! So what do you plan to do after your bath?"
"Dunno"
"Ohkay what is the time right now over there?"
"Quarter to six in the evening"
"What are you doing in the bubble bath?" Naku screamed at Leela, "Get out of your bath, put on your robe, go to the window facing the Pantheon and relay me how it looks during sun set."
Leela laughed out aloud at that.
"How did you know that my room overlooks the Pantheon?" she asked.
"Well just a wild guess, no biggy" said Naku smiling and looking at Roops. Roops showed a thumbs up and Naku winking pulled her collar up.
