Part 8:
Manthan left Abhir for the moment & went over to see if Bhoomi was ok. She was sitting now & shivering & tears refused to stop spilling. Manthan slowly lowered himself and as soon as she looked up his face softened with concern & pain. She took a second to register that it was him and the next second she was in his arms, crying uncontrollably. Manthan held her close & soon his eyes were moist. Then he saw Joydeep lying unconscious and as he got up to go over to him with Bhoomi clutching him, he felt a firm hand on his shoulder. Without turning he asked Bhoomi to step away from him and go over to Joydeep & Bhoomi acknowledged. He turned around slowly with eyes burning with hatred. Before Abhir could open his mouth to say something, Manthan had knocked the wind out of him by landing a powerful fist in his stomach. And Manthan didn't give him a chance to recover again as he rained punches after punches on Abhir. "How dare you touch my sister!" roared Manthan. "I had warned you to stay away from her but today you crossed your limit. How dare you touch her, you @#%*#@!" Before Manthan knew what was happening, he was dragged away from Abhir. Someone…no not someone but many people…were trying to hold him back. But he didn't seem to care. His eyes were fixed on Abhir & the only thing he could think of was how much he wanted to kill him.
Manthan had lifted Joydeep up and was walking to his car with Bhoomi by his side. She still seemed to be in a shock but Manthan didn't say a word to her. He knew that she needed time to recover. It turned out that it was the police that were trying to hold Manthan back from Abhir. They had been notified by the traffic police that a guy was driving at top speed & breaking all road rules. They had been able to get his license # while he had hit traffic and the patrol had immediately confirmed it when Manthan had crossed them on his way too. They had chased him but he didn't notice and had finally been able to catch upto him at the beach. The inspector had witnessed the scene of Abhir knocking Joydeep out & then trying to rape Bhoomi far a distance & had realized why Manthan had been in such a rush. After clearing everything out, Abhir was arrested under the charges of, attempt to kidnap, physically abuse, kill, & rape. The inspector let Manthan go free and asked him to take his relatives home.
Manthan put Joydeep in the backseat with his head in Bhoomi's lap. She kept staring at Joydeep & again, Manthan didn't say anything. He knew he had to get them home soon. Manthan drove carefully and upon reaching home he didn't find anyone outside. He got out & picked Joydeep up & headed inside with Bhoomi following behind. All the family was in the lobby and when they saw the 3 at the door they let out gasps & rushed to them. Manthan asked them to step aside so he could take Joydeep upstairs to their bedroom. Manthan laid Joydeep down on the bed & took off his shoes & socks & then covered him with a light blanket. He turned to find the family looking at him with eyes full of questions. He searched for Bhoomi & spotted her by the window. He went over to her & held her close & she broke down finally. Manthan was crying too now and asking her to let it all come out. Tanya couldn't see her daughter in such a condition & rushed to them with tears in her eyes, "Manthan…Bhoomi, kya hua? Kuch batate kyun nahi? (Manthan...Bhoomi, what happened? Why aren't you saying anything?)" Karan walked over & Bhoomi rushed into his arms. Tulsi said, "Koi doctor ko phone karo. Joydeep ki halat achchi nahi hai (Someone call the doctor.Joydeep's condition isn't good)." Manthan replied, "I already called the doctor. He should be here any second now." And they heard Ramu kaka bringing in the doctor.
After the doctor left and Bhoomi had calmed down, Manthan told them everything from how Bhoomi called him & how the police had turned up. Karan was furious and wanted to go see Abhir at once and talk to the inspector to insure that he didn't get bail but Manthan said he already took care of it all as he had called Vijay, their lawyer, from the beach itself & had informed him in detail of all the happenings.
hope it was long enough to make up for being late 😛 but do let me know ur thoughts...i know it was a bit boring but i'm trying to make manthan's character stronger than it is portrayed in the show...give an explanation as to why he is the way he is besides him being all money minded...and there also has to be some incidents that will bring about a change in his attitude & personality...in short, i want to justify the changes in manthan...hope i haven't left anyone confused. be patient & trust me...you'll be in for a treat 😉
