Unhealthy obsessions only grow stronger with time. Jai Vardhan's fixation with Archita did the same. " You better put your son on track or I'll derail him permanently " Manthan warned Pratap Vardhan at his house the night after Holi. Despite prohibitions about playing Holi with unwilling, unsuspecting colleagues in college, Jai Vardhan had picked Archita and thrown her in a tank full of muddy water. His other friends had done the same with Pari. Manthan had wanted to batter his life out of him, but Eklavya forestalled him and lodged a police complaint against Jai Vardhan. Which Ira had circumvented by obtaining anticipatory bail.
"Manthan beta....I'm really sorry about the way Jai behaved. I'm sending him off to the States for his further studies. Hopefully that'll set him straight and keep him away from Archita and trouble." Pratap Vardhan sounded defeated. " Papa................." Ira looked positively stunned as she glared at Manthan. " Papa ...its just because he loves Archita........" " Shut up Ira....Bloody lies to defend your brother ..." Manthan said angrily, advancing towards Ira. "You shut up Manthan....Closing your eyes to the same does not change the fact. " Ira answered with the same emotion and action as Manthan. "Stop it the two of you...." Pratap Vardhan's exasperated voice put a strained pause to the confrontation. "Sorry....Have to attend this call.....Manthan .... I apologize once again and rest assured, Jai will not harass Archita any more." He walked out of the living room.
That left Manthan and Ira standing facing each other. "So your brother loves Archita? I don't know what your definition of love is Ira Vardhan.... But Archita certainly doesn't love or even like your brother. And knowing what a creep your brother is, I'm thankful for that. " "You bloody..." "Listen and listen carefully Ira..." Manthan said menancingly, holding her arm and jerking her close. "If that psycho comes within a mile of any member of my family....I'll make sure he's sent to the place where such people belong ....And this time there won't be 'A-N-Y' bail. Love, is it? he scoffed. "Let me give you a little advice Manthan.....Don't ever fall in love....Or if you do....make sure that the knowledge doesn't reach me. Kyunki uske baad tumhare pyar ko be-anjaam karne ki zimmedari meri. Yeh vaada raha mera tumse." Ira's voice sounded decisive.
Manthan was reminded of this whole episode as Ira tried pacifying an irate Tripti with "Lakshya's my friend. I've promised to help him whenever need be. And I always keep my promise." she finished, looking at Manthan now. "I'll leave now....Congratulations once again Lakshya and KT. Bye Nakul." Ira headed for the doorway.
She knew Manthan would be waiting near her car. "Car is still in one piece......You're losing your touch Manthan." Ira taunted. "No Ira....I'm not." repeating the action of their previous encounter. "I also keep my promises Ira. Ab tumhare anjaam ki zimmedari meri. Yeh .....Mera vaada raha tumse."
