The story hasn't changed. Karan turned toxic towards Preeta because of a misunderstanding. And Shaurya is a criminal,please don't compare him with Karan. Palki is only talking about Shaurya because she's scared that he might try to do something to Rajveer again. Even if Rajveer broke up with Palki, Palki will never marry Shaurya. So the sacrifice thing makes zero sense,in kumkum bhagya it worked because Rhea and Ranbir had history together. And I'm surprised that people are forgetting about the fourth person in the story Shanaya. Something is going to happen to Preeta and the blame is going to be on Palki and Rajveer will start loathing her. Rajveer will start making Palki's life miserable and later on pretend like he has forgiven her in order to marry her. Palki will be happy with the marriage but Rajveer will reveal to her that he only married her to avenge his mother pain, that's when Rajveer's character will turn toxic. Like father like son Karan started hating Preeta due to Mahesh's accident caused by Prithiv and Sherlyn.
