Anyone else feel the same?

Shakti's performance is great and I had no doubts his performance would be anything but when I got to know he will be joining the show.

That being said, given the supposed big betrayal karan thinks he has received from the two people he loves the most, I'm not really seeing much emotions in him when he speaks about preeta-rishabh or during all those scenes he was watching rishabh and then kavya and preeta.

There's no pain in his eyes or voice or tears for preeta-rishabh's betrayal like the way karan before leap showed during the party and after the party before he fell to his death. The emotional quotient is missing from shakti's performance as karan where it is needed to be shown in scenes or moments where he thinks about the betrayal or when he sees kavya with preeta and rishabh.

All we get to see is hate, anger and attitude from shakti's karan. I hope the writers going forward to pay attention to this that karan should be showing just as much pain as he should be showing anger due to feeling betrayed by the two people he loves.

This purely angry and arrogant karan throughout just isn't cutting it, and I felt this way since the moment they showed his memory back.

Shakti is indeed a talented performer & today in particular I thought he was great. The mehram song sequence was my favorite bit from today's episode.

I would personally disagree on the eq missing part, it's there but i do get why you feel this way. It's bcz it's not being focused on in the screenplay by the writer. For some reason, the writer seems to be in a rush.

I thought yesterday this chance was missed and maybe also why you may have felt this strongly bcz i too thought that the scene in house with Karan seeing R,P and Kavya should have been written and shown in more detail. The scene before it with Karan outside Luthra mansion and entering the house & observing it had all the emotions but the most important scene was rushed and limited to few glances with no monologues even. Today there was an improvement in this with the car scene and Karan outside the principal office scene but the first impression chance was missed when there was the most anticipation.

If i have to play devil's advocate, here's why i would say things are the way they are:

1- This Karan is not the jolly Karan who thought his wife loved him. That "murder" and betrayal has killed the old Karan in him. This Karan is now just more cold and angry.

2- This Karan, lived 5 years as Arjun Suryavanshi who as they showed was molded by Nidhi Ahuja (the girl who rescued him) and she herself as shown in episode yesterday, seems to be a pretty strict and angry lady with lot of attitude and she has molded Karan to be the same. Karan's memory is back but he wouldn't unlearn all influences of these 5 yrs or time travel 5 yrs back.

3- It has been just few days of Shakti playing Karan and he would carry out the portrayal and develop character graph on the basis of brief & direction given to him and the scenes he's carrying out. He hasn't played/lived the character Karan for past 5 years. So,like you mentioned, the writer will need to focus on the pain part and write some scenes where this particular aspect is focused on and then Shakti will be able to mold it in his portrayal of Karan.

Yeah they really have rushed the start of this leap track so much so the scenes are rushed and certain details are just not elaborated enough. Hopefully with the next coming episodes going forward they start showing more of an insight into karan's emotions and pain over the betrayal, knowing preeta-rishabh are now married and thinking they both have a kid together, because aside from just pure anger I want to see some of that vulnerability and emotional breakdown of karan we saw just before leap.

I felt Shakti did well to portray angst in yesterday’s episode. I do strongly feel that makers are doing great disservice to Shakti and the viewers with the constant flashbacks of DD which are not needed. It leads to comparison which is unfair to Shakti and confusion for viewers to deal with 2 Karan at the same time.

For me flashbacks of dd as karan are not impacting my view of shakti's performance. I can defo see glimpses of karan in his performance (even without needing the THE KARAN LUTHRA dialogue lol) in the arrogance and anger he portrays, but even dd's karan portrayed his emotional and vulnerable side after assuming he has been betrayed, but from the moment arjun remembers he is karan they haven't shown any emotions that reflect heartbreak and betrayal that I had like that DD had shown before leap and wish if not now at least in coming episodes they show more than just this brooding angry karan, and portray some of his heartbreak more.

Whatever way shakti is portraying karan has been written that way by writers and he is being instructed to portray this angry karan with attitude, because if shakti was told to portray Karan in emotional state or having an emotional breakdown he would have done so effortlessly so writers and director need to pay attention to how they sketch shakti's karan and how his scenes are executed.

Yeah now that the show is no longer about prithvilyn and rishabh is officially free from sherlyn the show feels more watchable now and finally feels like they have something new to show besides the same thing they've been showing since rishlyn got engaged.

Shakti Is A Good Actor No Doubt About It.

But As Karan.. Iam Just Not Feeling It

DD set an image of Karan we have seen throughout the show he made Karan what Karan is shakti just started n he has his own style of acting which can never be the same no matter what

I have no doubts he is great actor doing fantastic job but we already have Karan in our mind in any situation how he act or react n I admire DD,s acting skills writer didn’t justice with karan the way he portrayed him in the show as far as DD is concerned he is mind blowing in his acting for me Karan is always DD i wish they killed Karan and bring Arjun as preeta,s love interest with new character fresh change to make easy for shakti n fans to accept him in the show

shaki has his set of audience n KB fans enjoy that freshness of the show here fans are comparing shakti with DD n expecting him to show the same emotions expression which is almost impossible for shakti to display n seeing Karan emotionless regardless whatever happened 5years back his love for preeta can never die that was always there with other emotions but here we are unable to connect with new Karan
