PART - 42

The next day was Sangeet followed by Haldi. ( Haldi - paste is made from Turmeric, rosewater and sandalwood)

Sumit is all ready to go to the office and he comes to the breakfast table.

Dadaji – Kumkum ki ghar jarahi ho kya?

Sumit – Nahi tho. Kuch zaroori kaam hain office mein. Kal se kuch din keliye Chuti lerahi houn. Tho socha ki aaj hi sab poora kardhoongi.

Dadi – Aaj kesei jayega? Aaj Haldi or Sangeet ki rasam hain.

Manav- Lekhin Haldi ka rasam tho ladkiwale ki ghar mein hain na? Hum log???

Priya – No. We too have it here. Aap dhono ko bhi haldi lagani hain.

Sumit – Kya?? Haldi….. Please no mom …..please……….

Manav – Impossible.

After lot of restriction and opposition from Sumit and Manav for the Haldi ceremony they were dragged to the hall and they had to sit inevitably that too with a Dhoti.🤢 (The face of Sumit and Manav was a scene to watch)🤣

Dadaji - Wedding is memorable in the lifetime of a person. So all the traditions has to be taken place. Our time was so much different. We loved all this ceremony. We felt and though we were treated like prince and Princess. Hey na?

Dadi – Just smiles

Further more this Haldi will get a special glow in you tomorrow so that you will look good when you stand in front of your bride. Both girls are so beautiful atleast for that sake you got to apply.😆

Relatives starts pouring in and as the tradition 5 Suhagans had to apply Haldi on the groom. Starting from the feet to the forehead. Without any choice they had to shut their mouth and allow them to apply.

After the complition Veena and Priya are ready to go to Kumkum's place as they have to hand over the haldi and Mehendi to them and do the same tradition with the girls.

Veena and Priya arrive and the function begins in the brides place.

Kumkum and Pooja are dresses with a lovely yellow salwar for the function. They are brought to the hall where a small crowd of guests are already gathered.

Five Suhagans apply Haldi on pooja and Kumkum. They start it from the feet and moves to the shoulder and then apply on the face. The girls were enjoying the ceremony

Along with Haldi the Sangeet also begins and the real Wedding environment has set up. This was followed by the Mehendi Function. Mehendi has been applied on their hands and feet. Ladies around are engaged in Sangeet and few are teasing them talking about Sumit and Manav.☺️

Looking at the colour on their palm the ladies tease them that their husband's would love them a lot.

All these functions stretched for long and it was pretty late at night. After the long tired day the girls retire to their respective rooms.

Kumkum checks her mobile and sees tons of missed calls from Sumit and the same is the case with Pooja.

They decide to call back. However Manav picked up the call when Pooja called up and they have a small tiff but soon compromised and have a sweet conversation.❤️

Sumit was so upset with the Haldi and the day's ceremony and adding to this Kumkum didn't answer his calls or returned his call. He was so upset that he threw his phone on the couch and went to sleep.🥺

Kumkum dialed Sumit for hours together and later dozed off as she was really tired. But even she couldn't have a sound sleep as she was nervous for the next day and was sad that she couldn't speak to Sumit.

With this the day comes to an end!!!

PART 43

WEDDING

The Wadhawa's are getting ready with full swing.

Finally it's the day of wedding. Its 5:30 p.m.,

Kumkum is almost ready…. Looking too beautiful in the red dress and looked stunning… Pooja was also sitting beside her…

Poo: Kumkum… tum kuch zyaada Koobsurat lag rahi hai.sach bohut pyaari…

Kk : Thanks.. You look just stunning…

Poo : Isn't it great that we are getting married together

Kk : Haan… main bhi yehi chahti thi.

Zara comes and does some rasam with them... put a small kajal tika behind their ears… Kisi ki nazar nahi lagegi meri bachchiyon ko

A girl comes shouting… 🥳

" Baarat aa gayi…"

Poo: Kumkum chal khidki se dekhte hain…

They go near the window… and see people dancing and Zara and Neha Welcome them.

Pooja and kumkum are standing near the window and looking at the Baarat. Pooja moves to the next window saying it's more clearly visible.😊

Kumkum stands there, and her eyes fall on Sumit who is wearing a White Sherwani and was looking stunning and handsome.😛

She kept looking at him and then smiles and blushes… ☺️

Till then Sumit starts looking up towards Kumkum's room as to see her… Sumit's eyes fall on the window… by then Kumkum closes the window.😔

Pooja is brought first. Everyone praises her stating that she looks beautiful. She is then made to sit in the mantap where Manav was already seated. Priest asks to get the other bride and then Kumkum is brought… Sumit looks at her and is mesmerized by her beauty. She looked like a angel who just dropped from the heaven😍

Sumit is looking at her…. She comes near him and still he keeps looking at her when Priya shakes him and says Shadhi ke badh dekna isse. 😆Nahi tho muhurath nikal jayegi.😈

Sumit feels a little embarrassed😳while kumkum smiles.
Then he stands up and they had to make each other wear garlands… Sumit puts it on her and when Kumkum had to put his friends pick up Sumit… Kumkum stands quietly then Sumit himself lowers his head so that Kumkum could reach… and everyone claps👏.. Kumkum smiles and blushes…☺️ They sit down… Kumkum bends her head and is luking down… and Sumit's attention is all on her…

Veena : Ehem ehem.. panditjee kuch keh rahe hain… 😈

Sumit is embarrassed and Kumkum gives a sweet smile

Then Kumkum is asked to keep her hand on Sumit's hand while some mantras are being chanted.

Then they are asked to stand up for the Pheras. A pink cloth (Vastra) is draped over the bride's shoulders and tied to the groom shoulder cloth. Then the pandit ask the couple to take Sath Pheras together around the holy fire (Agni). Priest explains to them that Agni is considered sacred and vows taken in front of Agni are considered to be unbreakable - with Agnideva (God of fire) as the witness as well as to seek his blessings. Each Phera represents a marital vow

Then Pandit asks to take the pheras and he Chants the mantra in Sanskrit. ( SORRY GUYS I CANT SPEAK SANKRIT AND I'M WRITING IT IN ENGLISH)

1^st Phera

Sumit:
I will cherish you and provide welfare and happiness for you and our children.
Kumkum:
I am responsible for the home and all household responsibilities.

2^nd Phera
Sumit:
Together we will protect our house and children.
Kumkum:
I will be by your side as your courage and strength. I will rejoice in your happiness. In return, you will love me solely.

3^rd Phera
Sumit:
May we grow wealthy and prosperous and strive for the education of our children. May our children live long.
Kumkum:
I will love you solely for the rest of my life, as you are my husband. Every other man in my life will be secondary. I vow to remain chaste.

4^th Phera
Sumit:
You have brought sacredness into my life, and have completed me. May we be blessed with noble and obedient children.
Kumkum:
I will shower you with joy, from head to toe. I will strive to please you in every way I can.

5^th phera
Sumit: You are my best friend, and staunchest well-wisher. You have come into my life, enriching it. God bless you. May you be filled with joy and peace.
Kumkum:
I promise to love and cherish you for as long as I live. Your happiness is my happiness, and your sorrow is my sorrow. I will trust and honor you, and will strive to fulfill all your wishes. I will always be by your side.

6^th Phera

Sumit
We are now husband and wife, and are one. You are mine and I am yours for eternity.
Kumkum
As God is witness, I am now your wife. We will love, honor and cherish each other forever.

7^th Phera

Kumkum:

Moves in front of Sumit for the last phera. She vows to be before Sumit if Death comes there way.
Sumit holds her hand: I shall follow you in death. Kumkum ke bina Sumit Adhoora hai.

Pandit – Asks to take the last vow together –

After each saying a mantra at each of the seven steps, the couple have to say these words together: "We shall share love, share the same food, share our strengths, share the same tastes. We shall be of one mind, we shall observe the vows together. I shall be the Samaveda, you the Rigveda, I shall be the Upper World, you the Earth; I shall be the Sukhilam, you the Holder - together we shall live and beget children"

After the pheras are completed… Sumit is given the " Mangalsutra"

He takes it and puts around her neck…and ties it… …

Sumit : Aaj se Kumkum meri zindagi hai. Mein tumarhi sath har sukh, dukh mein rehna chahti houn. Ab yeh haath kabhi nahi chootega…Mein tumhe zindagi bhar pyar karoongi or isse badh bhi.. Na is janam na kabhi aur… main apni zindagi ki har saans aur har dhadkan tumhare naam karta hun… ❤️

Kumkum luks at him…

Kumkum : Aur yeh mera vaada hai ki zindagi bhar hi nahi balki uske baad bhi har kadam main tumhari saath dungi… Sumit ke bina Kumkum adhuri hai.❤️
They keep looking at each other, then panditjee says to put sindoor..

Sumit takes it and slowly puts sindoor in Kumkum's forehead… Kumkum closes her eyes.. Some Kumkum falls on her nose and Sumit slowly brushes it away with a soft touch.

Panditjee : Yeh vivah sampann hua aur aaj se aap dono pati-patni hue… 👏

Sumit and Kumkum luk at each other and Kumkum and Sumit touches the feet of the elders and take their blessings. Sumit hugs Kumkum.👍🏼

Sumit and Kumkum live happily ever after and so does Manav and pooja

Well the wedding was very very good..................but sad 2 know that thia is the end................was waiting 4 more 2 come...........
