Just a little OS on something I really hoped on seeing.
Abhi stared out across the sky from his balcony, somewhere where he came to soothe his mind and that was what he was doing right now, trying to relieve himself from all the confusion.
His fuggy, his fuggy loved him. But why? What had he every done for her to let her fall for him. Well, he was good looking of course but coming to the seriousness that Pragya was based on he had not even made her smile yet alone do anything to make her love him? Then why?
For the past few days the same question kept coming back to haunt him, why, why, Why? He was tired, each time he tried to find an answer he never reached a conclusion because there wasn't one, well not one wIthin his reach. The only answer to that was Pragya herself but each time he saw her it felt like the air was pushing against him, becoming heavier by the second, it felt as if all eyes were on them and them only, as if his every move would make a difference, what difference? Abhi again asked himself.
Abhi had never felt awkward in front of a girl before, and being awkward infront of his Fuggy was the last thing he had ever imagined but then that was what always happened. Each thing he never imagined doing, he did ever since Pragya had entered his life.
Abhi sighed and leaned on the banister infront and watched the sun set, the colour of the sky was yellow, sending shades of pink and orange across. Abhi closed his eyes to relax when he felt a pair of arms hug him from behind. He slowly turned around to see Tanu.
"Abhi, I am so happy your back" she murmured into his chest. "I missed you so much, you don't know how I spent each day without you."
"I missed you too," Abhi replied half heartedly without hugging her back. He gently moved her arms off of him and moved back slightly but she came forward again hugging him.
Abhi again thought that this was the same Tanu he always wanted to be with, hold on to and now she was there he felt suffocated. He would do anything to move as far away as possible from her presence. He didn't know why, there was just something about her that he didn't like, something that made him feel like he didn't belong there.
"Abhi now your back have you thought about our marriage?" Tanu asked.
Abhi didn't move. He didn't know how to react. In all of his thoughts about his Fuggy he had completely forgotten about his promise to Tanu. He had no idea as to what he was going to do, on one hand he had his commitment towards her, his promise to her parents and then on the other there was his Daadi, her happiness which lied within Pragya but that wasn't the only thing. There was Pragyas happiness as well. Abhi felt even more muddled than before, her confession had confused him further. He couldn't break the news to her just like that, it would break her completely, he couldn't do that to her, not after she had done so much for him.
"Abhi, I'm asking you?" Said Tanu snapping her fingers infront of him.
Abhi blinked his eyes realising he hadn't answered. "Sorry, I need more time, you know, I have only just come back and then there's Daadi, I need more time to explain." He replied blankly. The main thing was how was he going to explain to Pragya whom had unknowingly agreed for his marriage to someone else. Did anyone ever do that? Did anyone ever fix their own loves marriage with someone else? There, he had another problem. He had to tell Pragya about the clients as well. Why had he made such a mess, why?
"Abhi!" Snapped Tanu again. "I'm asking you something?"
"Huh, what?" Asked Abhi again snapping out of his own dilemma.
"Oh god, you weren't listening were you? I asked how much time do you need? Mom dad keep phoning and asking about you, how long will I keep putting them off?"
"Sorry, just give me a week, I'm trying"
"Don't worry," Tanu hugged him again. "I could wait my whole life for you, but promise this time you will talk to Daadi?"
"Yeah, of course." Abhi replied knowing that fulfilling this promise was going to not only be hard, but would break many hearts as well.
Abhis thoughts were interrupted by a pain from his wound in his chest from where the bullet had hit him. He looked down to see that his shirt was slightly red from where the blood had escaped from his bandage. Tanu looked at the blood horrified but tried to cover up her expression.
Abhi took his shirt off and carefully took the bandage off, his wound was healing better but still part of it was bleeding. He sat down on the chair and asked Tanu to get the first aid box. Tanu nodded lightly and came back with the box in a few moments. Abhi couldn't see the wound properly from the angle at which it was and asked Tanu to apply the bandage.
Tanu nodded looking pale and picked up the cotton dipping it in water to wipe the last of the blood still there. Her hands shook as she dipped the cotton in warm water and roughly wiped the blood in a rush to get it over and done with making Abhi yelp in pain.
"Ouch, Tanu gently." Abhi arched his back in pain.
Tanu dropped the cotton on the floor getting up.
"Abhi please, I'm sorry I can't do all this." She turned with her hand over her mouth and ran out quickly past Pragya who came in to the room looking after her quizzically.
Abhi watched Tanu leave, leave him there in pain. Abhi sighed and picked up the cotton and tried to wipe the blood himself jumping in pain, pain from the wound or that Tanu had left.
Pragya walked towards the balcony and seeing Abhi in such a state rushed forward to help.
"What the hell do you think your doing?" She moaned grabbing the cotton in her hands and making him lay down as she wiped the blood gently.
Abhi watched at her as she covered the wound with the bandage. He noticed her eyes water as she addressed the wound, it clearly effected her to see him like this but she was strong enough to hide her own worry and help him, unlike Tanu who had left him a few moments earlier.
Pragya finished the bandage and gave him his shirt to put on but he was too busy staring at her. The breeze blew gently lifting Pragya's hair from her face. Abhi stared at her for a long moment before realising she was finished and beckoning him to wear his shirt. Abhi looked away and took the shirt putting it on.
"Hayee, meri sharmilee Fuggy" Abhi teased her.
"Stop it." Said Pragya and turned to get up but Abhi held her by her wrist and made her sit.
"Listen Fuggy." He said.
Pragya looked at him asking what happened.
"Look, why did you help me with the bandage, didn't it disgust you?" He asked.
"Why are you asking?" Said Pragya.
"Just answer me" said Abhi.
"Stop it, please don't remind me of it, of course I don't like seeing you like this but if I don't help then who will? I have to take care of you, after all I love - " Pragya stopped mid sentence.
Was there any point in continuing, she had already said it and it hadn't seemed to have an effect on him, but then why would it? She turned and left before Abhi could protest.
Abhi laid back down on the chair and put his arms behind his head staring out at the sky again. On one side there was Tanu who had left him in pain, and then there was Pragya who he hurt so much but still she took care of him, both claimed they loved him and he also knew who truly loved him, but was his heart ready to accept the truth? Was it worth breaking his Fuggy's heart for someone so careless?
Abhi watched the last of the sun dip down past the horizon as he was once again left hanging between conclusions, maybe some question were best left unanswered he thought laying down.
NO! They're not!
Abhi jumped up, who was it speaking to him? He listened with concentration but no voice was heard so he fell asleep knowing that the same dilemma would be there before him again.
