Well-written
Sooo serious
Hopefully we get to see a soft side of abhi soon
Liked how you made Pragya little stronger when she came back to the house. She seemed so frail and delicate.
Excited to head what abhi has to say to her
Thanks for a great story
Hi guys, another update from me! I, like many others on this forum, was not happy with yesterday's episode so I tried to give another spin to the events. Let me know if you guys liked this version better. Happy reading! 😊
-----------------------------------------------------
Without risking a look at him, she marched straight into their room. She stopped short as the smell of bleach assaulted her, causing him to barrel into her back. The room was unrecognisable. The bed, which he had stripped in anger a couple of days ago, had been dismantled and in it's place was a brand new mattress, without even the plastic casing removed. Every one of the numerous pillows, and most of his recording equipment were gone as well.
"Looking for beautiful memories of your tryst are you?" Came his harsh voice, from too close behind her. "I had to clear everything to get the stench of betrayal out."
That was it. His cruel barbs were enough to curdle her nervousness into the courage needed to turn around and say what she had come to say. "I want a divorce," she blurted out, careful to keep her gaze steadily on his eyes.
"What? I don't think I heard that right".
"I. Want. A. Divorce." For one moment, he stumbled back only to recover his composure seconds later. Eyes narrowed, he advanced towards her.
"Really Chashmish? Since you've been doing everything you've ever wanted while we are married, why do you want to go to the trouble of removing that insignificant obstacle now?"
Don't back down, don't back down,' Pragya repeated the words like a mantra but it was futile as her moved further and further into her bubble of personal space.
"The entire country wants me, why do you claim to be different?" One step forward. "You say you can't tolerate me." Another step forward. "And yet," his eyes burned, "you want him." Yet another step. "You will let him in to your very bedroom but you move back when I approach you."
She hadn't even realized she was moving back until her felt her back hit the door. But he didn't stop advancing. His hands were now on either side of her small frame. His hot breath washed over her face. He leaned in close, so close that another breath would have them touching. "Can you honestly say, that you don't want this?" No. She couldn't. She couldn't deny her stomach doing somersaults, her breath quickening, her lungs greedy for his scent, the blood rushing in her ears. And on some level, she didn't want to. This would be the last time they would ever be alone together, so why shouldn't she take away some memories of this? Anyway, she thought bitterly, she wasn't going to have a chance to experience any of this again soon; not her, the forever-rejected sister.
"No. I don't think you can." She was shaken from her thoughts by the rush of cold air as he moved away. His pupils were dilated, he was breathing heavily, but there was triumph in his eyes. "You want me too."
"Yes, I'm attracted to you!" She yelled, self-loathing at letting him get so close spurring her anger. "Yes, I'm attracted to you but I do not want you. Even though you're good-looking, even though you're my husband, I do not want you!" She strode to the centre of the room to put some distance between them. "And why should I? What on earth have I ever gotten from you other than humiliation? You're an insecure hypocrite, Abhishek Mehra. You can't stand the thought of me, the wife you always treated like a plaything, with another man, although you have defiled every room in this house with that girlfriend of yours. And you don't have the courage to believe me when I say I didn't do anything with Suresh, because that would mean admitting you were wrong. And the great Abhishek Mehra can never do that, can he? How dare you insult me for having relations with Suresh when in this very room, you felt up your girlfriend and then beat up my cousin for your crime?
You are a hypocrite and a coward and yes, stupid for believing everything anyone ever tells you. Did you ever stop to think HOW that wretched MMS was shot? That someone else would need to be in the house to shoot from such a close angle? Or did you think Suresh and I decided to make a sex tape of ourselves and send it to you for your viewing pleasure? But no, you never stopped to think about that before lording your oh-so-generous 24-hour rule over me because you are determined to see the worst in me and no wrong in yourself!
And that's why I want a divorce. You have never respected me, and I have lost all the respect I had for you. And a marriage with no respect has no future. We have no future." And then, before her weakness could show through the cracks in her angry facade, she turned and stalked out of the room, leaving Abhi alone with the bombshell she had just thrown.
Abhi dropped down on the mattress. What had just happened? Had Pragya (somehow he couldn't use that nickname the for tornado that had just left him) really demanded a divorce? A divorce??! Did she know that was permanent?? Had Pragya, the ever-dutiful bahu, just ripped his character to shreds? Was there any truth to what she said? He couldn't shake off the uncomfortable feeling that there might be. As much as he wanted, needed to hate her, even he couldn't claim that she would willingly make and send an MMS of herself to him. If not her then who? Shame washed over him as he thought back to the Puneet incident she had mentioned. Not his finest hour. But so much better than what had transpired five minutes ago. What had come over her? This new venture offers viewers the chance to see Krishna Kaul in a fresh avatar, while also signalling a promising revival of classic-style...
