Totally with you on this...there is love from one side...and deep caring for sure from the other...and the belief that this is a life time commitment...so, physical intimacy is a very natural and real consequence...keep wondering what these husbands and wives on shows are made of...who don't consummate for months and years 😆..

I think Ashu's intent to move on and give his marriage his all is very clearly established!

Vidishaa, I guess, there is some problem... Either u write it too short or u write it too good... In either the cases, I'm lost in reading, and soon realise, aaj ka quota khatam ho gaya... Its hard to wait4 ur next update... From the past 3-4 days I keep on waiting for tomorrow, only to read ur next update... U r really doing it too well.. Wud wait 4 ur next update...

As beautiful. The portrayal of all the characters has been amazingly well done.

If at all possible, plz try and make the updates a bit longer though.

Mallika sat all alone in the garden of her house. The colourful Geraniums and pretty dianthus gave her the much needed company...she was all alone..her dad was in judicial custody and brother...the lesser said the better.

Her reserved nature was often mistaken for arrogance. The deadly combination of beauty and brains in her made girls insecure and as a result she had few female friends. All her male friends were married now...and their wives or other female relatives didn't like them being too friendly with a beautiful and accomplished single woman.

Life is tough for a single woman as almost everyone views her with suspicion...her presence sends alarm ringing...wives of male friends regard her as a potential threat and issue strict instructions to their husbands to avoid interacting with her.

//"Tumhe ab shaadi kar leni chahiye" "Ab nahin toh phir kab karogi?"...oh I have no answers for these anymore...ever since my parents have come to know that Ashu has married Nidhi, the pressure on me to get 'settled' has increased. "Woh toh tumhe dhoka de gaya...didi aapko ab bhi akal nahi aayi? " even adi has started to lecture me.//

"Why do people have to remind me that my biological clock is ticking away and if I wait any longer then my chances of having a child would go down drastically"

The solitary red rose in her garden drew her attention "I am as lonely as it is"...red rose ...it looked as if the god of love had painted it red with her own blood.
Red rose brought back the memory of her lost love. ..Ashu had gifted her countless bouquet of them..the first one came along with the confession of their love '...and the last one..yes the very last one was given right before her departure for the ill-fated pilgrimage.

The new track on the mp3 player was ABBA's the winner takes it all...Mallika took a deep breath. Both of them were huge fans of ABBA...Ashu had sung 'dancing queen ' on her 30th birthday..."Well he did make me feel as if I were a queen" a tear trickled down her cheeks.

The winner takes it all was apt for her current state

The winner takes it all

Beside the victory
That's her destiny

I was in your arms
Thinking I belonged there
I figured it made sense
Building me a fence...
'...
But tell me does she kiss
Like I used to kiss you
Does it feel the same
When she calls your name...
Mallika burst into tears at this line...that was the question her heart was asking Ashu...

"I can't live in Lucknow...Ashu's memory will kill me here..
Let me contact Dr.Shukla and ask him there are any openings in Bangalore...I want to leave this city."

Meanwhile in Mathur house

"I don't have sufficient space for my books, please move some of yours to another room"
"I keep only the really important ones with me, you store your books in guest room..waise bhi tum unhe padhthi kahan ho"
"Excuse me, jahaan mein rehti hoon wahin mere books bhi rahenge..aur kaun kehta hai ki mein unhe nahin padhthi?"
"Accha, mujhe patha hai ki tum college mein kitni lagan se unhe padhthi thi..mera muh math khulao" Ashu gave a teasing smile.

Nidhi got irritated "Kahiye Kahiye ...apna muh kholiye...you don't know how much I love my books"

Ashu got up and looked flirtatiously at Nidhi" The ownership of the books is doubtful madam..if one were to go by the number of times one's name is written on them, then I emerge as a clear winner...with this logic they are mine...tumne badi lagan se apne book pe mera naam likha hai..amazing dedication isn't it"

Nidhi cheeks turned beet root red..."gosh! he knows about it...how? ..this is so embarrassing "

Her naughtiness got better of her and she said "Kitabhon pe aapka naam likne se kahin pehle maine apne dil par aapka naam likh daala tha". Having said these she ran out of the room...Ashu smiled thinking about the naughty twinkle in her eyes...this girl is crazy.

So Ashu has acknowledged that he knows...a good beginning...

Don't know what you have planned for Mallika...but a fresh start in a new place is the most sensible thing to do!
