I think she will say that mallu misunderstood. That mallu was feeling bad or something and in her haste to make sure mallu was ok she forgot the knife in her hand, and mallu misunderstood and thought that nidhi was trying to harm her.

Nidhi can easily say that Mallu was not aware that she is cutting her own throat. After all Mallu has always been saying that sometimes she doesnt know what she is doing - like throwing the medicene. So Nidhi can take that excuse - Mallu will not be able to deny that - she cannot say that Iam ok...
