i don't think this will be the case in KTLK as such relationships are not accepted in India..so i don't think they will showing dis plus although KTLK is based on Dhoop Kinare yet it doesn't mean that there will be no creative inputs from the team's side! only the theme is based on that show, the show won't be it's clone !! completely my take!!

In south india (karnataka, AP, TN) the girl can marry the maternal uncle. It is a more common practice in villages.

PS: this is just for information. Now please dont start a debate on whether it is right or wrong.

No...she is married to her mother's own brother. And I agree its not a genetically sound practice. But its acceptable among few communities as gotras are different.

yes in AP the girls marry the uncle if there age group are close.

The logic behind it is that hwne a girl is married a kanyadaan takes place. which means she is no more part of this family. Her gotra and surname changes. Hence her daughter can be married to the uncle as both are not related by gotras.

The main point is that the lead characters are unaware of the ''fact''
They will show us how one might react in a situation like that. I was unaware of the custom in parts of India. So I am no one to judge and its natural to find it weird as its not a norm in my culture.

I remember long time ago I heard the story of a couple who actually discovered later that they were long lost siblings...now that is totally unacceptable and gross. Can you imagine their situation?
But my point is that such co incidents are not totally fictional. The world is full of strange stories and how people comprehend to them is what makes it interesting.

I wud suggest u go thru the replies to the topic too .
It is already made clear by many others that he is in no way related to the girl's mother other than being adopted by her grandfather AFTER her mother eloped

I heard they will not make any changes in the theme. For the creative part, they have to use it anyway to make it a daily soap which might continue for years😆'
May be they can change the grandfather into her uncle; so that ashutosh becomes her uncle's son😛

Its so degrading for females.. thy r tangled in this web so deep tht its hard to change their mentality.. they r made to believe its the truth, give in or b ready for penance and suffer.. and no wonder the women itself r proponents of such ill customs!..

@bold- why is it degrading for a woman if she covers herself??😆
J
ust like women who don't find it wrong in exposing their body parts, others who want to hide it should be given full freedom to hide it too. Not all women cover their head or wear 'burkha' coz the men demand it. They may not feel comfortable wearing the so-called dress that is supposed to make a woman 'liberal'🤔

@RajeevSurbhi :
When i got to knw tht this serial is an adaptation of dhoop kinare in 80's I couldn't resist and happened to watch the entire episodes of this serial in 2 days...so i can confidently disagree with ur post which states tht dr. ashutosh is dr. nidhi's uncle. They share no relations with each other. Dr. Ashutosh is an orphan adopted by a person at the age of 8 and this baba's grand daughter is Dr. Nidhi. Its a beautiful mature love story and I'm eagerly waiting to watch it in hindi with my 2 fav actors.

ok first of all..Ahmer in dhoop kinare was adopted by zoya's grandfather. There is no blood relation here..so he be her uncle?. and second of all its just a show i dnt think the makers of this show are going to make things complicated.so we should just watch enjoy.
