It brought back too many bad memories from the infertility track... Today, I felt that I was seeing the Ishwari of the first season...
Probably, the only thing that I liked in today's episode was related to the scenes between Dev and his sisters (even with Elena)...
After seeing yesterday's episode, I felt that Ishwari would probably try to convince Sona to tell the truth to Dev or something, but definitely not what I witnessed today...
I absolutely hated her for her coldness towards Sona and the tone of her voice when she was talking about Nikki's birth... It felt like she was indirectly scolding Sonakshi for even thinking about terminating the pregnancy, which might finally fulfil her wish of having a grandchild (most preferably, a grandson... Coming to this point later)...
Like her stunt of going to the temple and not coming back to IN (after she came to know that Sonakshi might never become a mother in season 1), until and unless, Sona promised to undergo the treatments...
In my last 1-2 posts, I have mentioned how the experiences that Sonakshi has undergone during the infertility phase, has created an image in her head where she feels that the baby is more important than her own self...
Infertility track was the first time, when Sonakshi questioned her own self and felt like she was not good enough... And, with this track and especially after seeing Ishwari's behaviour towards her, that feelings must have come back to haunt her with full vengeance...
In some ways, in Ishwari's excitement to become a grandmother, she has forgotten about Sonakshi and her only concern is the baby... The worst part of the matter is that in the hopes of seeing her dream come true, she is completely turning a blind eye to the matter of the complications present in the pregnancy...
Like last time, she is once again making Sona's pregnancy about herself... But, unfortunately, like Soha was misguided by Golu, Sonakshi is also being misguided by Ishwari...
While I could understand the reasons why Soha was led astray by Golu, I am still disappointed by Sona's decision to play this stupid game of 'guess-i-am-pregnant' with Dev.. I desperately hoped for Sona to reveal the complete truth to Dev, in today's episode...
And, Ishwari peeking into the bedroom just gave me the creeps... I simply can't understand why Ishwari is unable to understand that the pregnancy is a very special journey for the unborn child's parents and something that should remain just between the two of them...
And, I am even more baffled on why Sona is allowing Ishwari to interfere into something which was just supposed to remain between her and Dev??
And, the only ray of hope that I see in this time, is Dev... For him, Sonakshi is more important and special than anything else... He is the only one who could finally correct the wrongs that is happening at the current moment...
The only good thing is that Ishwari is genuinely been changed and I am sure that once Dev makes her realize her mistakes, she will correct them...
I seriously pray that Dev comes to know the full truth (most likely, tomorrow itself) and make Sonakshi realize her own significance and that she means the world to him... Only he has the ability to make him realize that she is perfect to him and she doesn't need to put herself at risk, just to fulfil his or Ishwari's desire (or anyone's desires)...
My most hated dialogue of today's episode, was Ishwari's exclamation that Soha is tying Rakhi to her unborn baby brother...
In my opinion, this is just so regressive and negative... Baby is a very special blessing, irrespective of the gender... And, people's opinion especially the older generation that having a boy is more auspiciousness or a family is not complete, until a boy is born...
If the makers are trying to touch this subject, kudos to them... But, I am fuming after seeing today's episode and furious at Ishwari's behaviour... I hope that soon Dev (or for that matter, anybody else) shows her the mirror and tells her how wrong she is...
Now, coming to the answers of the questions posed by @DQ...
I don't know about others... But, in my opinion, both Sonakshi Dixit and Bijoy's Daughter are a part of Sonakshi's identity... It is impossible for Sonakshi to either exclusively remain SD or BD... And, this is why, we see her swinging between the two extremes...
In my opinion, BD is that particular shade of Sona's identity for whom her responsibility towards the Boses' well-being (in this case, financial) and how her family (especially, Bijoy) feels about her really matters more than her own happiness and her own desires...
According to BD, her happiness completely lies in the happiness of the Bose family...
On the other hand, SD is someone who has a strong sense of right & wrong... She is someone for whom her identity truly matters and has supreme confidence in her own abilities... And, she knows where her happiness lies and strives to achieve it...
For her, the most important thing is Dev and Soha's happiness and how she is able to bring smile on their own faces.. She is the one who dreams of living and enjoying her life with her family...
When I say, Sonakshi needs to allow SD to come into the forefront, I don't mean that she should stop caring about Boses' or throw BD out... But, what I simply wish to convey is, that Sonakshi starts to take decisions which brings her happiness, instead of only catering to the needs and expectations of others (whether it's the Boses or the Trixits).
And, in my opinion, Ishwari's Dev is nearly identical to BD except that instead of catering the Boses, his responsibility was towards fulfilling every desire and expectation of Ishwari as well as the Trixits and not caring about his own happiness...
We have already seen ample of evidence of ID in the first season and BD in the second season...
And, as for Ishwari's bahu... In my opinion, it is probably the most weakest/submissive part of Sonakshi's various shades.. Ishwari's bahu is the version that the old version of Ishwari always wanted in her son's wife... But, IB, can never be the Sonakshi that Dev fell in love with or be woman that Soha aspires to be...
For IB, pleasing Ishwari is the single most important thing, even it means changing her own fundamental self... We have witnessed this shade of Sona during the marriage phase (and, even today, to a certain extent.)
I hope that I am able to clear some of the doubts... But, this is my interpretation.
I just wish that some absolutely great episodes are waiting for us just around the corner... And, tomorrow's episode (17th August) will be able to bring back our smiles that was taken away from us after watching today's episode (16th August).

P.S: And, why did I feel that today's episode was shorter than the previous ones??
