@aarcha: That's a great summation of the issues at play. At this moment, I think both Dev and Sona are still hoping that Vicky will mend his ways and eventually be worthy of coming back to live at IN. If Dev wanted to kick him out forever, he could have easily sent Vicky to jail for what he did, but the fact that he didn't is testament to the fact that Dev still has hope. All Dev wants is for Vicky to come to Mami's present level -- be a parasite for the rest of your life, I am happy to support it, but don't actively harm our family. That is the primary difference between Mami and Vicky -- once she realised her status was secure, she stopped plotting and settled down; Vicky actually has a personal vendetta to destroy Dev.
Basically, when there is still a chance that Vicky could come back and things could go back to normal at some point in the future, it doesn't make sense to tell Soha and Golu the whole truth. It's also Dev and Sona's word against Vicky's right now -- and that could backfire badly. Dev is an adult, making deliberate calls. I think he can handle the consequences of his his decisions, including Soha's anger, especially now that Sona is with him. It's a sad thing to confront, but children are really this easy to influence and manipulate, and Vicky is taking full advantage (š¤¬š¤¬š¤¬). It's also a horrific reminder of why, in most child abuse cases, the abuser is someone known to the child, carrying out his plans right under the parents' noses.
Soha is being manipulated -- that is why she is behaving abnormally, and acting out -- and I am so happy to see that Dev and Sona are treating her as a victim rather than a gunegaar. In fact, Vicky is doing to her, precisely what his mother did to him. A child who was once grateful for her parents' attention and could function very well without constant care (even in Bose house, she spent a lot of time alone, drawing) is now feeling entitled, and like she has been wronged because her parents have been preoccupied for a few days. If Sona and Dev were to discipline her strictly at this point, that would be a repeat of the mistakes that Mamaji made, neglecting to counteract the harmful effects of his wife's bitterness. What Soha needs to counteract the effects of Vicky's influence is the constant and unrelenting assurance that she is loved by her parents.
