@Shaavi: I agree with you, and while I believe today was a definite step up, I don't think that Dev and Sona have handled the Vicky situation in an ideal manner where the kids are concerned. More than Soha, I was surprised that Dev didn't pay much attention to Golu after he kicked Vicky out of the house. This was an extremely traumatic event and nobody really explained it to the children or talked about why it happened -- that is what gave Vicky the space he needed to do damage through the kids and, as he said, hit Dev where it hurts the most.
That said, I don't think today was the best time to tell Soha and Golu (mostly Soha) the truth, because she was so emotional and defensive (like papa, like beti 😆), and it would have given the wrong impression. I thought it made more sense to do what Devakshi did -- try to calm her down and reconnect with her to get her to a point where she would actually listen to them and give weight to their words. As usual, before they could stabilise, they were hit with the next tonne of bricks. Hopefully they will be able to get through to her now so that Vicky can't cause too much more damage, at least to their nuclear unit.P.S. Was it just me being overly optimistic or did Dev look surprised/confused in the precap when Vicky said he had brought Golu home without his and Elena's permission? Methinks Golu may not be done with his lying days.

Ditto. 😭We knew since day one of S2 that Vicky would exploit the Bigcha-Golu bond, and the separation would come eventually, but I still wasn't prepared for how much it broke my heart. The way Dev was clinging to Golu, and the way Golu called out "Bigcha" as he was dragged out the door... I am still recovering from the sadma. 😭I am not sure if Elena is as bothered about supporting Vicky as she is about punishing Dev, silly woman. She hasn't taken care of her son for a day in his life, and doesn't even know if Vicky has a decent place to stay. Somehow the fact that he is telling her nothing -- from his job status to his slap status -- rings no alarm bells in her head. Badiya. 👏It seems I am in the minority because I think Dev and Sona handled Soha fine. They tried to humour her in small ways while standing strong behind Dev's decision not to let Vicky back in the house. The thing is, Soha's anger is valid too, because as Mami and Ishwari explained, the slap should not have happened in front of the children. To Soha, Vicky chachu is her friend, who gave her attention at a sensitive time. As we saw, Golu felt the same way, and I liked that Dev and Sona heard them out.The way I see it, there is a difference between validating a child's emotions and giving in to their demands. Dev and Sona did the former but not the latter. Even in the end, when Soha was begging Sona to say something to stop Golu from leaving, Sona just hugged her, thereby communicating something like this: it's right for you to feel sad and angry, and I am here to help you deal with those emotions, but for now, there is no immediate solution. We just have to confront our emotions, and find a way to be okay with the status quo until things get better, because there is valid, long-term reasoning behind our decision. This is precisely the kind of validation that Dev never got, thanks to a combination of dire circumstances and Ishwari. She never let him express his emotions (even yesterday with Mami, she reprimanded him for his tone), and so he learned to bottle them up and look for proactive solutions instead. He never found a productive, non-judgmental outlet for his emotions until Sona came into his life, and that is why he continues to struggle with his anger. He suppresses it until it bursts forth in ways that even he can't control. That is why I like that Soha and Golu are allowed to be angry and say what they feel. It's not like anyone was actually going to let Soha leave the house this time (that's why Sona was so casual about it), and when push comes to shove, the equations balance themselves out. Soha had the luxury of being angry with Dev and expressing it when everything was stable, but the moment there was a threat to her world, it was Dev whose hand she instinctively reached for in an appeal to protect it.
