While I do admit, I did not like some aspects of the episode.. And, it was pretty average episode... But, I never had any kind of huge expectations from this episode, in any case...
Usually, my favorite episodes of the week usually happens on either Tuesdays/Wednesdays, since these are the days when most of the tracks are resolved or built... In fact, I was more relieved than anything else...
Since, we already know Vicky's plan, it will be interesting to see how he tries to use his own son and his relationship with his BigCha... And, like always, his plan will fail... I am sure that he will be able to cause some pain to Dev but I am pretty sure by the end of this track, Tripathis' time is more or less coming to an end...
And, while I was slightly annoyed seeing Sonakshi not raising her voice when Soha was packing her bags and then, let's see how all of this unfolds...
But, seeing Soha today reminded me of Sona in her initial marriage days, when she always had a habit of running to Bose house as soon as she heard a 'No' or faced a problem in IN...
And, frankly yelling or reprimanding her at this point, will not be effective simply because Soha is in no mood of listening to anyone... Yes, slapping her might induce a fear in her but it will also just make her more rebellious in the long run... We are already seeing the result of such an upbringing in the form of Vicky...
I am not saying that either Dev or Sona are like Mamaji or Mami, but I hope you get what I mean...
In my opinion, independence given too early, will lead to mistakes.. Simply, because kids don't understand all the complications that comes with taking serious decisions... They live in a Black or White world, but we can't also shelter them completely...
So, while they should be given some sort of independence, but yes, parents should also be aware of setting boundaries and ensuring that their children understand to live in those restrictions, until they are ready to deal with bigger challenges...
And, this is something, that both Sonakshi and Dev will only understand with time and patience... They are still learning and understanding to work as a single unit and especially, in regards to Soha..
So, yeah, while we may not like it, but it is something that they will and should learn for future...
But, it is better if Soha commits those mistakes and faces the consequences of her own decisions, now than after turning 18.. And, I trust Dev and Sona enough that they will be firm if Soha decides to do something completely stupid and stop her...
Children are rebellious and this is especially true for ones like Soha... Even if Sonakshi tells her the complete truth, she is not going to believe her since she has the confidence that her assessment of her Vicky chachu is right... Or, for that matter, her outspoken behaviour when her parents came to know of her result was acceptable...
And, hence, if she later comes to know that her newfound trust and confidence on her so-called 'new' friend was completely wrong or that her attitude with regards to her parents was wrong, then, she will automatically realise the enormity of her mistakes and correct them...
I don't think that either Dev or Sona will fulfil any of her unnecessary wishes or desires... As far as I remember, both Dev and Sona said a clear 'No' to their daughter, when she threatened them to leave for Kolkata... The only reason why she succeeded was because Bijoy was supportive of her decision, for his own selfish desires...
This is not the case here...
While she has a lot of Sona in her, but it is obvious from her actions of keeping a note of her own mistakes so that she can ask forgiveness later on, that she is feeling some kind of guilt and genuine remorse... It is clear that her inner conscience is still pricking her and I believe, she has also inherited Dev's quality of understanding her flaws and correcting them by taking the required measures...
I am not saying Sona and Dev should not intervene, they should... But, I don't getting grounded or being reprimanded will do anything until and unless Soha, herself comes to the conclusion that she committed a huge mistake and is prepared to correct herself...
While being independent does make children prone to committing mistakes, but it also teaches them how to overcome them and most importantly, make them realise that every decision comes with their own set of consequences...
And, while their parents or loved ones might give all the support in the world and give them the hand to raise themselves from the ground, where they have fallen... But, in the end, it is their responsibility and their decision to give their hands to them and take their support in pulling themselves up from the ground...
I am not predicting anything but this is my hope... But, I will wait for few days before I pass my judgement on this matter...
The creatives might not exactly give us what we want, the way we want it, but they do end up fulfilling our wishes, one way or another...
