Mami and/or Vicky may eventually be redeemed but I don't think that is where the show is leading in the short term. Rather, I think this is a build up to their exposure. Why? Only the two of them know each other's dirty deeds, and they have been careful to leave no other traceable evidence. The only way their kartoots will see the light is if they reveal them. Sona and now Dev are being unintentionally very clever by softening Mami and pulling her to their side.

Despite all his bravado, Vicky is an incredibly weak and insecure person. When he's threatened, he has no limit to how low he will stoop to guard his wealth and power. He feels like he is owed something and accuses people of stealing when they point out he has no right to Dev's wealth. Imagine him when he feels like Dev is taking away the one stable and dependable thing in his life, his own mother. He will lash out both at Dev and at RR, and will resent his mother's alliance to the mahaan brigade. I believe that frustration will cause him to reveal how she wasn't exactly innocent either.

Dev and Sona have no idea what they are setting in motion, simply by giving Mami respect. In doing so, they give her less and less room and need to be her old, manipulative self and are drawing Vicky's source of validation and entitlement away from him.

Definitely Sam. However, it may even be a conscious decision on their part. Mami is very important to Ishwari. Her happiness matters to ishwari. So it may well be that mami is elder and important to ma. She should be respected

I agree with what you said. Winning RR to their side may or may not benefit Dev Sona but as a viewer I feel sick to see only Dev going on apologising spree. Overdose of apologies I feel and many also may feel so.

In a way the show is giving an impression of the male lead as the culprit and every one else is wronged by him. It is too much. It spoils the balance of equation between the leads. Sonakshi is made to sit on a pedestal despite being the cause of the present state of affairs while Dev will roam around with folded hands with his I am sorry jap.

Ofcourse he is always special because his glory enhances with every step he takes and the man emerges unscathed despite his victimisation.( by the CVs )

The way I look at this is, mami is family and lives with them. She has the ability to influence ishwari. It's hard to live in the same house and have this sort of animosity. Dev has always been like this. If someone is sad he will reach out to them. Heck he stayed overnight in a hospital and visited his mother's nutritionist.
I am only looking at this from Dev's point of view. He saw mami was sad. He went and spoke to her. While the bonnet is opened, might as well fix all the wiring

Hi every one Finally I get the time to post my thoughts about the this weeks development in our show. And first I want to say I am happy what they are showing. Honestly as discussed in the @sam's post I am loving this new Devaskhi version which is the combination of 1.0 and 2.0. Here the Important part which get highlighted that is how they are communicating with each other. The important point is from sona's point of view dev lost the connection with his family is the fault of both of them. She is understanding the her importance in this process and in the next week when she will understand the changed the dynamics of Ishu mata and Dev's relation this will be once again highlighted to her that she is the important person in the dev's life and the another important communication will be started which will may lead the various discussions or communication about the feeling which occurred in the dev and sona' s mind when various events were happening in s1 where they will not able to understand each other due to the lack of communication. This is my guess from the precap and may be dev will able to tell her the pain when he find out his mother never supported her when he get to know about the prenup papers.

The another part which I like is the how asha and Ishawari is becoming friends and I will love if they show as Ishu is open about her job and in the same way asha will be open about the mistake which is happened in her book publishing. Even I feel that when Ishawari will come to know about the nikki she will first communicate with asha then to the dev and sona and then sona will left what should be done on ishu and dev and try to step aside but Ishu will now allow her and make her the part of the decision making process. Some how this sona don't have any special expectations that she is happy to see the happiness she don't expect the acknowledgement this get represented when she was just standing at the door and at the kitchen happy being together even at the selfie she was happy to be near dev and at all these point Ishu mata was the who brought her and make sure she is part of every thing and in the case of the selfie matter she actually give the preference to sona over mami that's why the their was the need of second selfie.

Now coming to the nikki I feel she was just like this early also. She was the only person who have the different ideas other then her sister and she feels her ideas are cool. In the same way at this point she want to be the part of her bf life and she was sure that her family will not accept her relation with her bf and for that there are the two main reason first she have seen how Ishu mata had not supported dev's decision to have a sona as her life partner and if you remember when Ishu mata say yes to the marriage and dev goes to propose sona she was telling riya and nikki that how she want to choose life partner to dev and how now she is not able to do that. But I feel her bf that is lakha is immature and when over the period of time due to the connect to the dixit family she will back to the self form because according my logic Ishu and dev is going to accept her live in relation with lakshy and she will start revisiting dixit niwas and as she get connected with them lakshy will see the different nikki which is not compatible with him. Some how the person who take the Ishu's interview was more mature then lakshy and he and Ishu will have the friendly equation. Lets see how they move the story.

Now coming to the debatable topic why dev is felling sorry and guilty for every thing and saying sorry because he is the boy who forced to become man of the house at the age of 8 and feels that it is his responsibility to take care of every one in respective of what he is felling so it the manufacture defect and same applies to sona she is the person who started doing the damage control when their was fight between the baba and her dada and used to take the decisions and fix the things and from last 7 years she is doing the same so they both are not going to have the sudden change and dev will not blame himself and will not go for the guilt trip and sona will not try to fix the things but the important factor from my point is what ever they are felling and doing for that they are having an open communication with each other and this was missing in s1 after marriage. Now coming to riya she was the one who was waiting for dev and when dev take the first step with the support of sona she was their for her brother and I thing she will extend her support to both dev and sona as she handle the mami. Now coming to the part why dev say sorry to mamai by this goodness when the truth related to mami and her red will be out he will not feel guilty as he said sorry and thank you to her. Actually he has given the respect which she never got in her own house due to her differences with mamaji and his love for sisters' children which gave her feel that she is not important to him. For this her own behavior and mamiji's failed lover story is responsible. So in future she will not create the problem for sona directly and another aspect sona and dev's respect will force her to make the efforts to stop her red to do any dangers which will harm dev and will may turned red against her own mother and to save himself he may open the cards about the deeds which they both have done to separate dev and sona. Lets see how the things get turned.

Amazing discussion folks 👏 👏

Sorry I couldn't join in before, but I loved all your posts. And thank you Grace, Chitra di, Geena di and everybody for liking my last analysis post. 😃 (And Geena di get well soon 🤗) I know it is very late. But nowadays, I am trying to make a transition in my career, so I have to work in double shifts for both the things. That is why, I could not express my gratitude earlier or participate in the thread actively.

Okay, now let me proceed with my views.

I would lie if I say I didn't find Dev's apologies irritating (I mean ek episode mein hi itne sorrys 🤪😆!), but on the other hand if someone apologizes they do not become small; they only open the room for a dialogue with people and to heal relationships. According to Dev, managing family is more complicated than managing business, because in a family, one needs to take care that the feelings of people you care for are not hurt (Dev said when they walked home during Ekta rally). He is only trying to set things right in his own way and redeem himself genuinely. Just one thing, hope he doesn't repeat any of his mistakes, whatsoever.

And when will he discuss his past 7 years with Sonakshi??😕😡

As for RR taking care of the house for seven years and supporting Dixits; she and her Red are the one who played a huge "intentional-conspiracy type" role in Dev and Sonakshi's separation - instigating Ishwari about Sonakshi's infertility, brainwashing her that Sona asked Dev to lie, calling Bijoy thief, instigating Ishwari continuously, eventually supporting that "get out", last nail in the coffin - rendering the Boses homeless. (Basically, RR could go to jail for mentally torturing the new DIL 🥱)

Well, it is another story why Ishwari and Dev behaved the way they did; we know the core character of Ishwari and Dev as well as of RR, we also know Ishwari was insecure, but it could have subsided if RR did not instigate so much. And for Dev, RR played him too by playing Ishwari's card, knowing too well that Dev can never go against his mother (RR herself confessed in hospital in S2 that Ishwari is keys to Dev).

The point is, RR should not pretend to give support to the Dixits through the 7 years of their suffering doom, when she herself destroyed them and arranged tryst with their doom. Similar machinations have continued post leap as well.

I think Asha's book - In Hope of Love<3, has a good potential to reveal this side of the story (as well as other aspects of Sonakshi's POV). And maybe that is why she is uncomfortable with Dixits reading her book because she fears the impact it would have on the current relationship dynamics. (BTW, I loved the name as well as the cover of the book )

If I consider the tracks about Asha's book and Ishwari working at Laksh's office in parallel, then Ishwari has a lot of potential of studying her past behavior through the book and not repeating them in case of Nikki and Laksh, and restoring Nikki's faith in family as well as marriage. This would indeed add to the growth of Ishwari's character. (Nowadays, I am loving her. She has become such a cutie-pie. 😆😊)

Also, it is notable that Nikki is similar to Dev in some ways, for example, how she wants to meet her family, be with them but hides and denies all of it to prevent a breakdown. I must say, I was impressed how she defended Laksh in front of Dev. 👏 Though I felt bad for Dev, he should learn from her how to stand up for your partner's honor.

I also loved how Sonakshi was trying to make him understand from Nikki's POV by giving their example. Dev is clearly torn between being a father-like elder brother and a person who understands how it is to be in love. I was very moved when Dev had addressed sleeping Suhana as Nikki, it shows the immense depth of his love for his sister as well as how hurt he is. Right now, I see Nikki standing in Dev's place - torn between lover and family and Dev in Ishwari's place - not being able to accept your child's lover (Nikki is almost like his daughter). However here, unlike Dev, Nikki has chosen her partner over her family.

BTW, I thought we would have to wait for a generation of kids to grow up, before we see Dev standing with a hammer to shoo away daughter's lovers. 😆 😆 But, with Nikki in the picture, the 'shubh muhurat' has arrived much sooner 😉..

About Sonakshi taking initiative to bring Dixit sisters back, I think apart from making her family complete and seeing Dev happy and peaceful, a part of her wants to feel the joy of "Dev's return". What I mean is, when Sonakshi was expecting in Kolkata, Sonakshi had waited, for Dev to return and take her back to 'their' home, for almost a year. After that she gave up her hope and absorbed herself in Suhana's innocent warmth, started to find Dev in Suhana and turned as workaholic as Dev she knew was.

She was no doubt heart broken by what transpired between them towards the end (and hence she left) but she wanted Dev to come back to her, like always, and end their fight. But he never returned, and it broke her heart even more. When she learnt about Dixit sisters' exit from IN, hurt by Dev, she could see herself in them; and being as compassionate as she is, she didn't want their hearts to break too. Dev, on the other hand, felt that if they went away from him they did not want to be with him and so he did not go back, either to his sisters or to Sonakshi (coffee conversation at night). Imagine how Sonakshi would have felt if it were Suhana and her in place of Arohi and Ria, and Dev returning to them after so many years... all In Hope of Love..❤️ She just shared her love in a way by attempting to bring his sisters back to their lives.

Thanks for reading!😊

And what do you think about Vicky's long absence these days, with respect to the show? (apart from the actor working in another assignment..)

Amazing post Tia. 👏
U echoed my thoughts.

Dev the sorry machine is doing all this to keep his family together. No matter how much I am irritated with his sorry marathon, somewhere i understand from where it is coming from and how important it is for him. So for my own sanity, I am just keeping Dev's POV in my mind, whenever he says sorry.

Sona is doing what she always do but this time she is keeping Dev in loop and being his back bone. The way you explained the root of Sona's intentions of bringing back Dixits sisters is awesome. Apart from making Dev at peace, she can see her own past in it. Bang on.

I hope they discuss their past 7 years because more than their families they were hurt. N i wanna know about it.

I have a slight different take on Nikki standing up for Laksh. Actually at that time Dev wanted to talk to his sister. They have met after so many years and it would be very uncomfortable for him to talk in front of Laksh. He is Nikki's BF not DEv's. For him he was a complete stranger. But i can understand Nikki's POV also, she was scared and wanted the only person she can trust ATM close to her.

N yes we have seen protective Dev Dixit through Nikki only. No need for Suhana to grow up and find a handsome guy like Dev babu. 😆

@Tia
Di, great post! But I am not sure if I agree with all the aspects. For me the greatest gripe with Sonakshi, is the fact that she does not willingly accept her mistakes completely. I think that is why this track is frustrating for me. If you think about it, Dev apologizing is not growth in his character. In Pre-Marriage phase, Season 1, and even now it was always Dev who apologized first. Weather to Sona, Ishu, or anyone, it was always him apologizing first. Until Sona's proposal, Sonakshi never necessarily started anything first, it was always Dev. That is why I really want Sonakshi to feel guilty once, partially so that she can own up her mistake once and partially understand how far guilt can drive a person. Sonakshi understands Dev's intentions but she never understood why he did the things he did, why her mom was called Aunty, or why he ate again for his mother after coming from Bose house. That is why I feel Sonakshi has not grown yet, as a character. Her flaw is still present. Don't get me wrong, Dev not making Soha's existence truth a big deal is kind of sad. If it had been the opposite and Soha was with Dev, and Sonakshi did not know, I don't think she would act like Dev.
