I hope that all of the amazing people making this thread more and more awesome, each week, had a fantastic weekend... I know, I had one...I don't know about how all of you felt, while watching Sona confess her undying love for Dev to him... But, my heart was with bursting with joy and eyes were shining with pure and unadulterated happiness after watching Friday's episode...
Before, jumping to the good stuff, let's first address some of the unsavory things out of the way...
In my previous post, I mentioned the fact that I had felt a sort.. of a disconnect, while watching the episode aired on June 15th episode... First of all, I thank all of you who took out time to answer my questions and bring an end to my confused state...
But, what I failed to specify was that I felt my disconnect was more due to logical reasons, rather than emotional ones... I wanted to also enjoy Sona's little bit at the end of the aforementioned episode, but for me to enjoy it, I also needed to unwatch the first 15-17 minutes of the episode...
While I wished that I will get some sort of a flashback or glimpse of the events that happened to bridge the gap between the two poles, metaphorically speaking, in the Friday's episode... And, alas, it didn't happen... The hope still resides inside my heart, regarding finally getting some kind of answers...
But, after looking back at the last two episodes, I could understand why the makers did what they did...
Since, the first day of the second season, we were seeing Dr. Sonakshi Bijoy Bose, a woman whose determination and drive, resulted in her creating a successful business venture, along with shouldering the responsibility of single-handedly raising a daughter.. She drowned herself in all of the responsibilities and never gave her heart, a chance to heal from all the deep scars from her marriage... She was wounded, yet had to maintain the facade of not being hurt, in order to project a figure of an invincible individual, who was truly unaffected by the cruel games played by the Fates...
On the other hand, the Sonakshi that Dev fell in love with, his 'Ms. Khargosh', was a woman who believed in the magic of fairy tales. She was a woman, who waited patiently for the day when her Prince Charming will come and sweep her off her feet, so that her eternal wish of living her own love story will be granted...
She believed that Love is the most powerful being in the existence and with it in your life, your life will only be filled with happiness... She was vivacious, a slightly mischievous and had an innocence of a little girl who was trapped in a the body of a woman..
In other simple words, Dr. Sonakshi Bijoy Bose and Sonakshi 'Ms Khargosh' Bose, were two completely different people, living on two different planes of existence... And, hence, with or without any logical explanation, it would have been jarring for us to see two different worlds collide...
Probably, the makers realised this and decided to swap some scenes, so that we could be prepared for the Ms Khargosh that we all saw on the Friday's episode... But, in the process to go with their vision, they definitely ruined the Thursday's episode...
But, I guess, it was done for the good for everyone... I guess, we all expected Sonakshi Bijoy Bose to propose to Dev rather than Ms. Khargosh.. And, thursday's episode might have given us a jolt but it also prepared us for the woman, that was seen running on the streets of Delhi on Friday...
Now, coming to the parts of the episode which mesmerised and made my heart dance with the two souls, rekindling and celebrating their love...
I don't know about everyone else but I seriously enjoyed the whole segment with the auto rickshaw... It was slightly crazy, slightly mad but, in every way, it suited Sonakshi of the good, old days...
I know many of us were expecting a confession, similar to that of Dev, but I am really glad that the makers decided to go for this route... If the two people in love are different, then, why their confessions would have been the same...
If the episode with Dev's confession last year, was painted in the colors of 'Mr. Aubhodro', then this episode, was painted in the colors of 'Ms. Khargosh'... Whatever felt wrong on Thursday's episode, suddenly fit into their correct places in the Friday's episode...
I absolutely loved the part where Sona berates herself for trying to go for the conventional, traditional, 'extra cheesy' lines to express her love... In some way, I felt that it was a very intelligent way by the makers to show the transcendental love between Dev and Sonakshi...
How the conventional, traditional things look so ordinary and out of place, when it comes to Devakshi and how it fails to describe their eternal or soulmate connection...
While these segments were funny and hilarious to watch, but what made my heart and soul soar through the heavens were the segments that followed... The segments where Sonakshi truly became herself...
For me, the actual confession and the proposal started, was when Dev left Sonakshi, but even then Sona didn't follow him because:
'Main Sonakshi Bose hoon, woh Dev Dixit hai... Mujhe chhod ke kahin nahi jaayenge.'
In some ways, it was equivalent to Dev's 'I love you like a man loves a woman.' and I am sure that both Dev's, and now, Sona's words will remain etched in my memory for a long time to come...
I was literally jumping on the couch (or well, inside my head), when I finally heard that statement...
Finally, Sonakshi realised her 'haq' over Dev's life and his heart... She finally realised her worth and her significance in the life of her Prince Charming... This was what was missing, the first time around... She never felt that assured of Dev's love for her since for her, it was the most precious thing in the world and she felt that she was probably, not worthy of it..
But, now, she knows it and realises it, her confidence in her true self has also grown.. And, her newfound faith in her love was soon rewarded when Dev comes back to her... Another sign that whatever happens, they will always come back together, because like Sonakshi said, 'Both of them complete each other.'
And, then she kneels down with the paper ring in her hand (had to give to her, she is creative...) and her proposal which was not only a confession of her love, but also apology for not being with him for the past 7 years, for leaving him and not admitting her love for him earlier...
But, the line that touched me the most, was the one where she said, 'I am sorry for not being able to see your face, first in the morning, for the past 7 years.'
It was a nice throwback to the scene when Dev says that the only thing that he desires is to see her smiling face for the rest of his life and he is afraid that one day, he might make a mistake which will make her leave him... Who knew how his words, which sounded so beautiful to our ears were a prophecy...
For me, this confession was as simple and as touching as the last year's one...
And, the scene where Dev acts that he is slightly angry with her, even after her heartfelt and proposal and then surprises her, when he places the ring in her hand... And, the joy and the happiness that you see radiating from Sona's eyes, her trembling hands that she couldn't believe that it is happening and her smile was just so gripping and captivating...
Everything about that those small moments were so perfect and the feelings that they evoked so powerful that I don't have any words to describe them...
I also felt that the rings were so symbolic...
From what I can gather that the ring that Dev presented to Sona is the same one that he accidently made Sona wear, during the Natasha engagement track... Who knew that the ring, we all thought that was accidently put on Sona's finger, has actually gone to its rightful owner, except nobody knew about it..
But, now, it's finally resting at its rightful place, on Sona's fingers... And, in some ways, it also brings into the full circle, not only the journey of the ring, but also, that of Devakshi...
The same could be said about the paper ring...
For me, the ring was a symbol of Sona's presence in Dev's life... Like the ring which was basically of no real value, became a diamond in Dev's eyes, simply because it was given to him by Sona... Similarly, the happiness and the peace that Sona brings into Dev's life might not seem like much, when compared to his materialistic possessions, but for Dev, it is most treasured things in his life...
And, lastly, the dance... Dev and Sona dancing like their old selves in the rain, with the absolutely magnificent background score and music.. It was pure magic and ethereal... I was completely and utterly lost in those magical moments...
In short, this episode, for me will remain one of the most significant and most memorable episodes in this series...
And, I am really glad that the show, even though, is at its last stage of the journey, has still 8-10 weeks remaining... I hope that the magic that we failed to experience during the marriage of Devakshi will finally be experienced this time around...
Can't wait to see how this week begins the journey of Dev and Sona's fairytale..

P.S: I know that my analysis or review came very late... But, after watching the episode, I was so happy and delighted that I felt that I will again go back to my old, logical self, if I start analysing everything that I have seen...
So, I felt that I will post my analysis in the coming week and just enjoy the episode, as a viewer than a reviewer, at least for a couple of days...
Now, when I was posting it, I was in a dilemma whether to post it.. But, then, I thought that it is better if I post my opinion, if it's late... After all, it is better late than nothing...
So, please don't forget to present your views and I hope that you enjoyed reading my post...
