But the root was in the financial status.

Let me tell you why.

Sonakshi's financial status didn't matter to Dev but his mother's behaviour towards Sonakshi depended on her financial status.

The pre-nup won't even cross Ishwari's mind if Sonakshi was as rich or richer than Dev. She didn't even think about pre-nup when Natasha got engaged to Dev.

Radha's behaviour depended on Sonakshi's financial status. Her behaviour was a lot different to Sonakshi than Natasha.

So their insults and taunts which never was experienced by Natasha, Sonakshi won't have to put up with it either if she was rich. That will take away the need for what is Dev's biggest failure - standing up for his wife's respect.

When she would not be disrespected, then what's the need to stand up for her? That would have let Dev off the hook and won't have broken Sonakshi's confidence in her husband's commitment and her relationship.

Now if Sonakshi and Dev gets back together, two things will happen. 1. Dev's inability to see the reality of his mother won't happen and 2. Sonakshi's inability to shut her in-laws out of her relationship and not being able to give answer back for fear of losing her husband won't happen.

Which I believe the two major things that broke them apart.

Thanks for clarifying.

I apparently lack the way to explain things as you do since I always want to end up writing everything in 4-5 lines😆

When they meeti this time, two main issue will be resolved. No worries, for them to be a couple again will have to go through a lot of transitions.

Dev needs to realise Sona's vulnerabilities. Sona needs to realise his loneliness. Two to tango.!!

Sourabh's marriage will probably happen when Dev will be with the Boses. He will see the mirror via Asha-DIl relationship and Neha-Sona as SIL. I hope it happens. Lot of things will fall back in place. Dev will understand his mom never accepted Sona but just got a toy for him...there is a huge difference in both.

@Ayesha
Every TV show which is a chartbuster or high on TRP in other channels usually have flawed MLs and FLs are supposed to be sanskaari...tolerate everything. I stopped watching TV shows long back for this reason.

Krpkab was different since Sonakshi Bose is headstrong. Its the only show I watch. There are some other good shows too which glorify FLs.

Crying, tolerating FLs fighting for their family's honour etc is a TRP jackpot.

Thankfully krpkab is performing well on Sony thanks to the popularity of the actors...otherwise it wont be long before they shut the shop.

My MIL watches all shows. During my initial days of marriage I would find her expectations from me uncannily similar to her favourite onscreen bahu. She would expect me to behave just like the reel bahu..OMG. It took me sometime to understand where what is coming from.

On a serious note, it becomes the responsibility of the PH involved to show progressive trends and equality.

Unfortunately that's the double standard we are fighting constantly, Andro. Different expectations, rights, standards for men and women are the main reason of inequality. If any show dares to show female leads as normal, human being who feels hate, strikes back when attacked, returns verbal spurs with equally hurtful verbal spurs, then suddenly a group of women crop up to accuse her of not being goddess. Funnily though, when Sonakshi was being doormat and some of us were accusing her, those people were defending her. But now, they are using the same reasons to turn the blame on her for her marriage breaking up. They expected Sonakshi to believe Dev in spite of his many lies when his own mother didn't believe him. What a irony, isn't it?

One thing certainly amazes me.Be it a TV soap or a movie, women are always expected to be perfect. They are expected to be paragons of virtue.Even a single human flaw will blemish their image. They are supposed to be goddesses.

Whenever we hear about the concept of a TV show, some concepts are about a rich spoit brat and a casanova guy who is changed miraculously when a sweet, simple girl enters his life.Have we ever heard about a show in which the female lead has dated many guys before she finds her true love? No we haven't.And even in real life the guy only earns the title of a casanova but sadly it doesn't take long for people to label the girl as a s**t.

I am not saying that being a flirt or being in multiple relationships is justified for anyone. It's about individual choice. It's about what the person wants regardless of the fact that it's a man or woman.

Television soap operas might be extremely dramatic and unrealistic at times. But at some point or other they do reflect the reality when it comes to the mentality of people. That's why all the Ekta soaps,Rashmi Sharma soaps, etc which show a woman getting tortured and tolerating everything in the name of sanskaars and love get TRPs.

Frankly I am amazed at how the FLs of these soaps tolerate the atrocities and yet put on a smile.Human beings cannot have much tolerance. They get scorned, insulted and taunted.Still they carry on with their patni dharma.🤢

Another point which I find really confusing and weird is that all the gravest mistakes made by the ML are justified by saying that the character is flawed. The guy insulted the girl?? Pat comes the reply,'Oh!! That guy is flawed you see.'
The guy hit the girl?? He is flawed.I also remember an old topic which I had read in this forum in which someone had justified Dev's act of slapping Bijoy by saying that Dev is flawed.😕

Why only men have the right to be flawed?? Why can't a woman with flaws be accepted?? Sometimes the female characters have to listen to what not because of something which is not even a mistake. So how can their flaws be accepted??

When we talk about equality, then I believe that men and women should be treated equally in all spheres.Even daily soaps. Both men and women have shortcomings and limitations.
And equality shouldn't be our only objective.Another objective to be achieved is equity which means fair and impartial treatment. For equality and equity complement each other.

Feminism is not an ugly word. Women over years have been oppressed and are asking for the same standards as we would give men. This is equality. Jews , blacks , etc have been persecuted in history and have demanded equality and attained it just like women are demanding and get it, just because we ask woman to be strong and voice out does not make us bit@@@@.

To this day the world is still predominantly Male dominated and if we as woman don't even voice out it will not be heard. Why are voicing out called negative or feminist is a puzzle I am yet to crack.
As far as I knew it is a free world where we can express what we want without being afraid of retribution or backlash
Peace Out

Yaar I only want to know one thing
Did Dev ever loved sona a single bit
I have never felt an ounce of love from Dev side
And now if they will reunite then only because Dixit baby mission Impossible got success
I never want now devakshi unite
As there was no love from Dev side
Whenever I watch single episode post marriage ifeel not an ounce of love from Dev side or now even I don't feel anything
I seriously want sona to marry jatin and then they can show some accident of jatin and then devakshi to unite with sona pregnant with jatin baby as then at least it would show some love from Dev side because now if they unite then what's the difference between arrange marriage and love marriage
As now if they will love then it would be like a mother and father loving each other not devakshi as individual
I want devakshi as I love their scenes but not on the name of biological children as it would be really weak love story
If suhana was adopted baby then also I was ok
Anyway please those who have not WATCHED POST MARRIAGE EPISODE DON'T TRY TO EVEN TO WATCH IT ELSE YOU ALL WILL BECOME FRUSTRATED LIKE ME AS I TODAY TRIED TO WATCH THAT SHIMLA NIGHT TWO THREE EPISODE TO WATCH DEVAKSHI SCENE BUT GOT SO MUCH IRRITATED THAT TO TOOK OUT MY FRUSTRATION I MADE THIS POST

Dev sona marriage failed because they let third person came between them .During their whole marriage period every single decisions has been taken under ishwari directly and indirectly. Pooja paath ,cooking, honeymoon,Neha divorce matter, jhula, dev's birthday ,Vicky matter, infertility issue In every decision they let ishwari came between them. They never worked as team in truest sense.Dev babu never stand up for his wife in front his mother even for himself also( reason -childhood conditioning ,upar se ma ka emotional attyachar),.while sona get too busy in pleasing ishwari.and tolerating insults .(reason -Accepting Dev without making him prove he will not leave her again according to her mother wishes .) Ye marriage toh break honi hi thi.

You are right, there is nothing wrong in demanding equality. As far as I have heard, read and understood, the meaning of the word feminism is itself misunderstood by many. Some simply consider it an attempt by women to become superior than men due to the people they might have encountered or something they came across on the internet where it is used synonymously with man hating by women themselves. And thus they form a wrong perception.
Another reason is the lack of exposure,I assume.A person with greater degree of exposure and knowledge is more likely to have an open mind and understand its importance. I think PK too wrote something along those lines in one of her posts.Growing up in a patriarchal society also means such thoughts are ingrained right from childhood and reiterated and connected with culture & religion. This kind of inequality is their everyday normal. So when anybody raises voice to speak against it,it is taken as negative and criticized cos their core beliefs are shaken and unfortunately their lack of awareness makes them react in such a away.
(Did that sound like I spoke in their favor?😕)Anyway, despite knowing this ,it is still puzzling and annoying to hear such comments by them.
But one day when we do live in an egalitarian society, these are the voices that will be respected, isn't it?😉
Ok, my analysis and philosophy is done for the day😆
