I hope all Mothers-in-law who watch the show take lesson from Dida and Asha, not from Ishwari.

OMG... See, this is the impact on society I was talking about. Thankfully my mother-in-law is Canadian so she doesn't watch Hindi TV shows. But there are so many woman who watch these shows everyday. TV should show progressive content to facilitate discussion and change in mentality since their exposure is a lot more frequent than movies. That's why I loved Supriyaji's last show "Sasural Genda Phool". It was a remake of a Bengali show called "Ogo Bodhu Sundori"... I have seen both the Bengali and the Hindi version and it was delightful to watch that how a motherless spoiled girl starts to bond with her husband's Badi Maa and changed into a perfect daughter-in-law without changing her core personality. No one forced her to conform into their family's way except everyone gave her time to belong since she left her family for them. If you have not watched it already, do watch that show on YouTube.

I have seen it.Sasuraal Genda Phool was an excellent show with the right balance of humour and emotions. It was one of the best shows of Star Plus and it became successful too.And it was a breath of fresh air.
Supriya Ji's character Shailaja/Badi Maa was my most favourite character. She was so sensible and sorted out.And I loved her bond with her DIL who underwent a complete transition. That transition took place gradually.

Yep. It was a saas-bahu serial too. But what an amazing show it was. There was another one like that called Ekk Nayi Pehchaan. It was about a Bahu who helps her mother-in-law get her education and respect in front of her family. That was a great show as well.

Problem is Ishwari is supposed to be one of the leads. ..and the God Dev's mom. They end up idolizing her preachings.

Asha is first girls mother and dida has less screen space.

I loved SGP. One of its kind.

I never want now devakshi unite
As there was no love from Dev side
Whenever I watch single episode post marriage ifeel not an ounce of love from Dev side or now even I don't feel anything
I seriously want sona to marry jatin and then they can show some accident of jatin and then devakshi to unite with sona pregnant with jatin baby as then at least it would show some love from Dev side because now if they unite then what's the difference between arrange marriage and love marriage
As now if they will love then it would be like a mother and father loving each other not devakshi as individual
I want devakshi as I love their scenes but not on the name of biological children as it would be really weak love story
If suhana was adopted baby then also I was ok
Anyway please those who have not WATCHED POST MARRIAGE EPISODE DON'T TRY TO EVEN TO WATCH IT ELSE YOU ALL WILL BECOME FRUSTRATED LIKE ME AS I TODAY TRIED TO WATCH THAT SHIMLA NIGHT TWO THREE EPISODE TO WATCH DEVAKSHI SCENE BUT GOT SO MUCH IRRITATED THAT TO TOOK OUT MY FRUSTRATION I MADE THIS POST

well i can understand, we glorify love as something that is always rosy. all the post marriage episodes where focussed on showing the flaws that a newly married couple do while fitting into a joint family. loving /dating/courtship period in any relationship is the most beautiful period as we get to spend wonderful momemts with our betterhalf and at the end of the day we go back to the wonderful cocoon of our own family. the problems only start when we try to fit into another family where each person has their own expectations from us and we will be totally clueless on how to meet them. at this juncture its predominant that we have first focus of the person due to whom we are in the family first. in this case, the husband has to focus on wife and vice versa. each should put in extra efforts to see that the other person is well acquainted with the members of the extended family and most importantly they have to face every relationship together. In the story the mistake that sona did was she tried to build every bond on her own without including dev. she might be capable no doubts about it, but there is no reason to prove yourself in the new environment. same with dev, the very few times he actually bonded with the boses, his mom due to her insecurities screwed it up badly for him.

the post marriage is not focussed on the love between the couple , its is more of lessons on how extended families strain the relationship, if the couple is weak.
