Basic Etiquette - Respecting The Alternate View

I am forced to write this post because i am seeing some real terrible comments and counter comments, particularly those that are getting personal.

i have read the forum rules and guidelines and follow them to the dot. What i cannot and will not tolerate is someone making any kind of personal comments. This is a forum where i believe anybody can post a view on a fictional show. it is the characters we analyse, dissect, appreciate and criticize. it is not about negativity or positivity and what is the general mood of the forum. Also, we are not a coterie where we have to agree at all times.

I challenge anyone who has read my posts to point out if i have ever criticised any real person in this forum. it was always the characters who i criticize or the makers. I also, like the rest of you invest my time in the show and the forum. there is always the like button that one can hit if they like or just stay quiet if they do not like or participate in a civil discussion.

If the forum is generally positive, it means the show is going well, like how it was in the initial stages. if the forum is turning generally negative, it means not all is well with the show. We cannot be having forced positiivity or forced negativity..and expect for all to align with whatever be the mood of the forum.

I humbly request all forum members to please accommodate an alternate view - RESPECTFULLY. This is basic etiquette expected from all members. we can gently agree to disagree. Personal comments and innuendos are no less than living in a world ridden with terror. We already have enough of it..

Finally, i have decided that if this continues, it is best for me to exit this forum too. I had a life before this forum and i will have a life without it. My life was great before KRPKAB and will be great without KRPKAB. My life was great without some of the nicest people i have read in this forum and it was great without some of the nastiest people i have read on this forum. I have actually met with some nice people on this forum and intend meeting some more nice people in the future.

I am sure people make posts not to be liked but to be read.

thanks for reading and listening!

Unfortunately this is the disadvantage of social media.

I post only on those posts which are in line with my viewpoint. I hate to argue in real life & the same online too. Plus this is fiction.

I think some posts are like dev2.0 trying to get a reaction from members. It's best to ignore those instead of dozens of pages of war of words!

Sir, i understand u completely. Please calm down. Our forum is going through a phase a family goes thru during a period of crisis.

Suddenly the flavor ofshow has changed, some are for it, some are against it and some like me confused about it. In such changing circumstances when people have major difference of opinions, things do go at personal level.

But as a family v have to look beyond it.

Sir, I respect U, Ur opinion n POV...
I know some points r discussed deeply...
Yet it should b only abt the show...
N I m too hurt to see some ppl going personal...

We treat forum as a family n respect...
But I don't expect any member to forcefully treat as same I do...

It's better to stay out if our POV is not matching the post...
Yet if some try to present theirs then others should respect...

I always try to avoid such post which hurt me, annoy me or don't match my POV...
So I m not at all involved in such ugly discussions...

The phase of he show has changed ...
N so is my POV...

But I will wait till the last epi to know what's in store for us...

Thank-you for this post Sir...
Hope ppl understand n stop being personal n respect everyone's POV...

Plz Sir wait for a while for everything to fall at place...
I can understand it has hurt U...

Dasji , i can understand you are miffed. the problem is people here are taking the characters too seriously. in real world, we are mix of all these characters.

If elders like you leave the forum, we will be losing out on learning from experience. With you in the forum, we honestly get to hear multiple voices. first as a male ( as in gender), second as a husband, third as a father to a girl child.

so you see you are playing a role in bringing out perspectives from three relations without even realising it. :-)

Very nice post sir. I am glad that you come up with this when you realised how the things are shaping up. Unfortunately this practice is here from a very long time. Its not only fictional characters who are bashed but forum members also. Name calling is also common here for the characters and forum members too. I just hope that everyone's POV will be respected and also members who are "abusive" towards any character or member will not be encouraged.

Agreed! I was also very disturbed last night when on twitter and Instagram i read words like " tharki" and "rapist looks" of Dev. Actors were taggedin such posts. Do people really know meaning of these words. I was very upset, how actors would feel aftrr reading such post even if made for fun but then i thought may be they are used to andknow what to and whatnotto takeseriously

The problem is for a lot of people it is my way or the highway. They will start beating you with a stick questioning your sense of right or wrong or worse even questioning your sanity if you don't agree with what they are saying.
The anonymity granted by the social media gives us the guts to behave the way we would never in real life.

I firmly believe it's much better to avoid such people and their posts. This is my humble request to you also. Just avoid else the negativity affects our brain and also starts spilling in our personal life.

Hi chandni, it is not about the show at all dear. so please do not get me wrong.

i think there is space for everyone. But to pass personal comments on another member is not the right thing to do. yes, people use all kinds of words on the character..why should any member take it personally and then resort to personal attacks? We are blurring the lines of fact and fiction, actors and characters, real and virtual. If someone does not like a Dev or a Sonakshi, and bashes them up, it is fine.. why should there be personal comments on those making the post?

Like i said, not everyone will like the show so it is fine. are we saying that if one does not like the show, he or she should exit this forum? i do not think so na? do you agree that we must all refrain from making any personal nasty or needless comments against a fellow member?
