Very well articulated. Many of us are feeling like this. The discussion needs to be toned down and personal comments need to be stopped. Same is happening in Twitter too with frequent fights between TeamDev n TeamSona. Result being moderate people hav reduced visiting the forum or contributing to the posts.
My humble suggestion dnt leave the forum, participate in discussions that are logical and which don't go to extremes. Ignore those posts which delve in name calling, negativity, portray extremely biased views or go into personal comments.

Very nice post sir. I am glad that you come up with this when you realised how the things are shaping up. Unfortunately this practice is here from a very long time. Its not only fictional characters who are bashed but forum members also. Name calling is also common here for the characters and forum members too. I just hope that everyone's POV will be respected and also members who are "abusive" towards any character or member will not be encouraged.

thank you. But fictional bashing can be tolerated, personal bashing cannot be.

we need to draw the line between actors and charactors, fiction and reality, real and the unreal.

We can ignore character bashing but not member bashing.

Agreed! I was also very disturbed last night when on twitter and Instagram i read words like " tharki" and "rapist looks" of Dev. Actors were taggedin such posts. Do people really know meaning of these words. I was very upset, how actors would feel aftrr reading such post even if made for fun but then i thought may be they are used to andknow what to and whatnotto takeseriously

I am least concerned about other SNS sites. I know the pitfalls there and do not make posts. It is this forum i am talking about. if someone is bashing a character, why does any member need to take it personally? Then things get into a member - member bashing match.. not done!

The anonymity granted by the social media gives us the guts to behave the way we would never in real life.

I firmly believe it's much better to avoid such people and their posts. This is my humble request to you also. Just avoid else the negativity affects our brain and also starts spilling in our personal life.

Hey Payal, i do avoid it.. .and have never ever reacted to any posts unless there is a personal comment against me. There is very little tolerance to the alternate view, especially if it is negative. lines get blurred and then characters go out of focus and members get to one another.

Hi chandni, it is not about the show at all dear. so please do not get me wrong.

i think there is space for everyone. But to pass personal comments on another member is not the right thing to do. yes, people use all kinds of words on the character..why should any member take it personally and then resort to personal attacks? We are blurring the lines of fact and fiction, actors and characters, real and virtual. If someone does not like a Dev or a Sonakshi, and bashes them up, it is fine.. why should there be personal comments on those making the post?

Like i said, not everyone will like the show so it is fine. are we saying that if one does not like the show, he or she should exit this forum? i do not think so na? do you agree that we must all refrain from making any personal nasty or needless comments against a fellow member?

Hello Sir...

M not at all getting U wrong Sir...
I know U talking about the characters n the comparison with the author...
But I don't support that...
As U must have noticed I don't merge my personal contact/closeness of the members with the comments or post made by that members in the forum...
N wish the same from others...

No one should exit...
It's jus presenting n discussing our own POV...
N respect others POV as we respect ours...
We should really stop being personal...
Hope U not getting me wrong ...

Edited...
I know ppl r bashing the author personally by their post of bashing characters...
But that is not at all tolerable...
Here I wud like to mention forum is one at bashing issue n no one gets personal there...
Then why for Sona n Dev...
Let ppl bash who doesn't like the character but till a limit...
N not crossing the limit...

Sir I disagree here. Bashing a character is ok but member who like the character & are emotionally invested in the characters for whatever reason don't like when bashing crosses a line. In the past week dev has been called escort, sexual predator even rapist. The is not the language which fans like & hence they argue on those posts & it escalates.

People who doing the bashing be it dev or sona should also learn to not cross the line by using such terms.

chandni, thank you and yes, we are on the same page. let healthy respect for each other continue. that is my only prayer. Let people bash Ishwari ( clearly, she has very little support on this forum), Sona or a Dev. it does not matter.. We must not bash each other. That is all i hope for.

I have been saying this for so long. Its what compelled me to make a post in the first place..People are ridiculously judgmental about opposing views here..For one, its a fictional show meant for entertainment. Not a life and death scenario. I get that you love the show but ppl here act like Sona is their chachi ki beti and Dev is their bhanja and they need personal protection from anyone who is out to bash them or criticize their actions. Why cant ppl just let opinions be? When I read posts like 'I cant believe people continue to justify this character', 'Thank God am sane enough to analyze this properly and support the right person' etc., am amazed that people dont understand the basic concept that opinions are subjective and what you say is not a fact. And what is trash for you might be treasure to the other. If only people took this as a fictional show meant for entertainment and debated in good spirit. Too much to expect from IF.

Fine preethi. your views are respected.

so to understand what you are saying better, are you suggesting that if someone uses some words on a character and a person does not like it, they are free to bash the writer? I believe this is the crux of the point being made. I am sorry but no one has any right to bash any other member and there is no reason ever to do so.
