nice post.. again!
i am not sure if you are referring to my comment on your's or another post. but, as for myself, I whole heartedly agree with you.

what I feel... Dev is spineless, proven again by him not standing up for his new bride when all the verbal abuse, taunts were going on😡 He proved it again.. BUT no surprise for me. the food fiasco was all HIS fault.. no one else. definitely not Sona's. I knew this would happen and was hoping and had written about Sona shouldn't jump into marriage without "Dev growing up"😉

As for Sona.. I strongly feel that she deserves what happened cause' she jumped into marriage thinking "love conquers all" and believing Ishwari and Dev instead of trying to resolve issues before jumping into wedding... like Bijoy wanted! Sona got duped by mother/son duo cause she is straightforwad and honest and the duo is not SONA is not to be blamed and definitely shouldn't be insulted.. but given what she knew of ishwari, RR prior to wedding.. this should have crossed her mind. Plus, my biggest issue was the Dev's decision to allow non veg at the wedding... knowing Ishwari is strict vegetarian... Sona should have discussed this more with Dev instead of being all dreamy eyed and happily xpting such a HUGE thing. as of now, sona has been shown as a smart girl but during wedding decisions & preps... she didn't use his brain... assumed all is well when it wasn't!!!!!

with that said... Dixit family has been horrible throughout.. prior, during, after the wedding. first they agreed to Bengali style wedding, then they wanted their traditions included but didn't bother to inform Sona's mother of what they wanted... biggest one being lenhga. second, they ruthlessly insulted and humiliated the bride as soon as she stepped into her wedding, her father for expressing his feelings to the groom, and the grown up girls acting like kids and making fun of bengali traditions in Dixit family faces😡 who does that? forget dadi bua, didn't Ishwari teach her girls basic manners?

I am disappointed in the show for doing nonsense dram for sake of TRPs!! at least Dev has been spineless and voiceless throughout.. Sona's character butchered by CVs. I am not looking forward to "munh dikhaai" crap today

that is what irks me ...it was the case when they were together before break up as well...and to tell the truth more than sona i am still trying to cope up with the way he broke up with her ,humiliated her and if that was not enough fired her as well...ohh the blood boils again 😆

CVs are confusing.. Ishwari wants or doesn't want poti potas.. on one hand.. buying baby gifts before wedding and on the other hand.. not wanting them to get intimate.. sic.. this is the unhealthiest mother/son relationship. never heard of this before. Ishwari acts like Dev's lover/wife than mother😡

Exactly. For a woman, intimacy is not just a physical connection, but it is also an emotional and mental connection. Without that, a woman has hard time to fall in bed with someone.

How can you enjoy the act when your mind and soul is shattered with insults and humiliation?

I think I read the book you read as well because that quote sounds familiar. Can't remember where I read it.

But you know the funniest thing? If Sona had indeed used sex like a weapon like those people were suggesting she did, then they would be the first to point fingers at her character and blame her for using her body to manipulate her husband.

A woman just can't win either way. She is always judged and blamed for everything regardless of what she does.

Thanks a ton. 😊

I have not read the posts in question but it is really disturbing if females are writing such comments. Are physical relations or the license to have sex the only definition of marriage. So a woman becomes a bad wife if she denies her husband?

In the saptapadi the husband also promises to take care of her and respect her. He is allowed to conveniently forget his promises but the woman should always fulfil hers.

A woman invests a lot of emotions in the act. It's just not a physical activity for her. How can a woman who is hurt, humiliated and insulted go through it. The very idea is unthinkable.

I once read in a novel, a woman's mother tells her just look at the roof all the time and think about the jewels you can get out of him for this.

So Sonakshi also can look at the roof and plan all the favours she can extract out of Dev in exchange, right? 🤢

Wonderful post Tia.👏
Any woman would love to cherish the memories of her, one of the most important day in her life, her marriage. Here from the moment Dixits saw Sona pre-wedding, she is being humiliated for one thing or the other. Not a moment of peace. It was not marriage but tug of war of different believes and customs. Instead of bringing a smile to the new bride who have left her home and dear and near ones they were competing to insult and humiliate her. Pre-wedding they told her that she was not the bahu they wanted and after 'Grihapravesh' they showed her that.

The whole household taking daggers at her, with her husband who just hours back took the vow to protect her and to stand by her for better or for worse resorting to be a mute spectator in all these. It was his decision to give her family the dream wedding they always wanted without him moving even a little finger to make their dream come true. If he had actually worked towards it then Sona wouldn't have been at the receiving end. And he expects her to honor his intention when he can't do the same.

The comment I am talking about is not in my post. I would have replied suitably if it was. I read it in another post. Look around if you are interested in getting majorly offended as a woman...

Yep, you are right. Sona is at fault for thinking Dev has grown a spine when she herself didn't wait until he came to win her back and jumped into the marriage. Just because he let her family put non-veg, doesn't mean he had grown a spine. Even if he had denied non-veg and stood up for her honour today, I'd have thought he has learned his lesson.

But no dice. So not looking forward to Sona's humiliation again today.

And really what's the big deal if the pallu slipped? Muh dikhai is for a new bride being introduced to the community. So what if they didn't get to lift her pallu to see her face? Dev didn't even get to do it in his wedding night. What's the connection between a silk slippery pallu coming off while Sona walks down a spiral staircase (which is her good luck that she didn't fall flat on her face considering she is going round and round with her vision blocked) vs. her capability to run a household?

Dadi bua thinks Ishwari is very capable, I don't see any pallu on her head.
