I happened to watch this writer's previous work "Balika vadhu" for the first year or so. I think he treads the same path with all his matriarch characters. In BV Dadisa tells his older son (40+ age) to rape his minor wife to beget children and he does so! Then there is this preaching after one of the episodes that people will eventually forget all the bitter past and make peace with their lives! I was appalled to see that message on TV! Dadisa doesn't get any punishment and the husband doesn't get any punishment and I didn't even see them feel any remorse for whatever they did to that kid. She messes up a lot of lives and towards the fag end of her life realizes her mistakes and supports the female protagonist a little bit, I think. I didn't watch the show for more than a year do don't know.
Here in krpkab, Eeshwari will also do some inhuman things but everything will be just fine in the end. The more the female protagonist suffers the more trp. And the matriarch should always be respected, no matter how big a crime she commits, because it is Indian culture.

I watched the episode finally !
Few observations :

1. Doctor blurts out the truth to Dev after knowing that he is Sonakshi's would be husband, not yet a husband.. Which dumb doctor will not know that how big issue this can be for the groom's family or the groom, that there are cases where marriages break off just because of this, and here they are not even married ! These lawyer, doctor all seem worthless to me.

2. Although I hated Ishwari's hyper-ventilating complaints to God, I could relate to her objection. When Athiests and Non-vegeterians have this understanding and patience to co-exist with the Believers and the vegeterians, the opposite doesn't happen so easily. Sadly this is not just limited to India, it happens everywhere in the world. People who like to follow 'rules' without having them validated, tend to become more rigid and much less flexible because they quite blindly believe those 'rules', be it cultural or spiritual. Myself being both an athiest and non-religious Bong, can safely say that I encountered multiple issues where people could stoop down to the level of insulting your the very existence followed by a long lecture on how sinful my acts are 😃. I believe in my rationality and it tells me to ignore them and move on be happy 🥳. But Ishwari is not different. People even move away from the seat if you bring a nov-veg item to the table. I don't think it's about them being animal lover, more to do with what they are taught as throughout their lives and not questioning anything whichever comes their way.

3. Dadi-bua is a disturbing addition 😵. Like Ishwari, I have personally encountered such aged people (and sadly from my inlaws side) in my life, for whom the whole house is made upside down - starts right from not wearing jeans/western outfits in fronta them, to eating silently not making much noise etc. 😳 And it's not just limited to the Bahu's of her house, everyone starting from her own children to grandchildren, these rules are applied. Thankfully, with the help of my immediate inlaws (Husband, MIL, FIL and SIL and even Mama-in-law) I am able to convey my point to the old lady that it's good she sticks to her belief, but world has moved 60 yrs since the time she was young 😃 and I can't follow such rules always because it impacts me a lot 😊 And thankfully again, no one pokes me much by now 😃 But sometimes we do discuss amongst ourselves, that why do we need to mould ourselves into her way rather than trying to amend her way and making her show the real world. Why is it so necessary to protect her 50-yr old values rather than just TRYING to convince her about the changes ? People think they would be hurt etc, but why such assumption ? Unless we point out a particular problem to a person, how would he/she know where he's wrong ? I felt for Ishwari and GKB's concern because people like Dadi-bua are so used to having everyone dance on their tunes, that anything go slightly out-of-track and bamm, a scene will be created. Only we are responsible for such annoying dadi-bua's in our lives to provide them with so much of power to insult people.

4. Precap - OMG ! I am not sure if Dev will be able to tell this to Ishwari at all or not, but the thought that he wanted to itself is disturbing 😲 This is such a private and personal issue for a woman. Not just a woman, in a country like us, all your life-work is measured by the ability of being fertile. 🤔 In movie Tanu Weds Manu Returns there is such DAMN bang-on dialog 'Hamare desh mein mardaangi sperm count se naapa jata hai'. Isn't it same for a woman too Who goes blurts out such things to his mom. What's this nonsense ? Now I have REAL doubt on Dev's being such successful businessman with ZERO knowledge of the real world. And this came as no surprise to me that he is ready to share everything with his mommy. No wonder I don't want this marriage to happen now. Strictly against Child Marriage 👎🏼

5. Ishwari's spending 15L for Sona and preparing something in the box for Dev's kid - Really are you freaking kidding me woman ? 🤢 As long as Sona and her kids are for your serving, she is spending Lakhs on them, but as soon as they are out of her son's life, absolutely no concern for them. And this same woman keeps talking about how she also has a rishta with Sona time and again 😲🤓 Such a bloody hypocrite she is. But sadly when Dev will come to know about your pre-nup incident, these petty excuses of being so dildaar for would be DIL would go to drain 🐷 Sorry but day by day she is becoming more loathe-worthy. 👎🏼 That 'sone ki jari' pissed me off to death. Such show-off creep 😡

That's all. My precious 2 cents 😆. Will be back from gym asap !

I dont think Dev will actually tell his mother about Sona judging by the sangeet segments where everyone seems to be happy except for Dev.!

Lol... Not sure if she has a hot boyfriend. I don't go to a "nutrition" in fear of getting ban on my favourite food. My husband goes to her and gets so depressed, that he comes home and steals from my chocolate stash.

Great post. Thanks for your point of view. But like I said, what's the need to be vegetarian and non-vegetarian food to be even in the same room let alone the same table? Hyatt ya Taj hire karo. Book two banquet halls. Ek mein rakhho veg, ek mein non-veg. Log to khane ki jagah sirf bhook lagne par hi jaate hai. Baki time to log jahan bride and groom hota hai wahan hote hai. Wahan sirf vegetarian starter aur drinks serve karo. Saanp bhi mar gaya aur lathi bhi nehin tooti.

Agar pehle se hi mind close kar liya to alternate solution kaise niklega?

Lekin meri problem khane se nehin hai. Hypocrisy se hai. Ishwari begging forgiveness from God for food scene was disgusting when she actually did a criminal act and feeling no remorse for that. That's why my title, SERIOUSLY?

This thread seems to be addictive..so here I am on a Friday nite thought of a 'positive post' so bear with me
Disclaimer: this is just my wild imagination 😆

Story so far:

Dev worships Easwari
Easwari treats Dev as her prized possession
We have a disgruntled Neha in the mix
Enter Sona who was brought for Easwari health
Sona and Dev fall in love
Sona the smarter of the two tells Dev that Easwari does not like her
Dev worships Easwari..so falls in deaf ears
Easwari accidentally overdoses
Dev panics and breaks up with Sona
Easwari got what she wanted but accidentally..so she thinks good riddance Sona let us send her to Ritwik land..wrong move
Dev goes bat crazy and starts questioning Easwari..the worship seems to be on shaky ground
Easwari strategize and begs Sona to come back
She hit 2 mangoes with one stone
Dev worships Easwari and along with him a new Bakra Sona joins the clan of followers
Neha comes back citing poverty...Easwari thinks..I don't want to go back to poverty
Enter lawyer..Easwari thinks wow this is jackpot let me ask Dev to sign
By now Dev does not have time to worship Easwari as he is trying to woo his lady loves family
Easwari plots( maybe she goes to any ends to get what she wants Khatri angle?
Gets Dev to sign using deceit
Dev is back to worship mode ofMaa because she brought his sona back
Sona falls ill
Dev comes to know but who does he think to say it to his Maa because she did bring Sona back
Easwari thinks aw this is quite opportune

Story ahead..in my dreams
In the meantime Sona gets the pre nup and questions Dev , Dev connects to dots..and it leads to Maa..she now tries to use the vansh card..but Dev does not agree

The two bakras are slaughte d...light bulb goes on

Dev renounces all his wealth and moves with the Bose family..enuf references in the serial of ghar

Enter Neha who uses this to get the wealth back and Ranveer
Of course Neha knows her mother so Easwari can play no tricks

The dixits lose the wealth again

Sona sees the plight of Easwari mends her relationship with Dev

Dev and Sona with the 7% chance have a baby

Easwari blesses them
Sub ham

Thanks Gemini I am loving your new found sarcasm too 🤪👏 Hope you keep it up always ⭐️👏 Helps in such depressing show which started off with such great promises and hopes and is now reduced to some crazy tracks 🥱

And your prediction of the story 🤣 I lost myself in the count of 'Dev worships Ishwari' 🤣 And yes, now he has got a colleague in fact 2 colleagues Sona and Asha 😃👏😆

@ Tia - Like Gemini said, your posts are like home for me in IF now 😆 I get to vent out my frustration so easily.. I know abt the easy solutions. But right now she is into another bubble-ride ----> 'I can do everything for my son's happiness' Bubble 😆 She has this urgent need to prove herself as the greatest mother of all. She doesn't mind if she compares herself with an innocent cow in one minute and the very next minute completely behaves like a fox to trick her grown-up son 😃 Whatever feeds her bubble to grow bigger 👏 After marriage, I can write and sign that let a small issue occur, Ishwari would be the first one to remind Sona that it's due to her, she is with Dev 😃😆 Earlier I used to feel bad for Sona, but even after knowing the reality she has chosen it for herself, so I am not at all gonna be sad for her anymore 😆 Her again and again trying to put the blame on Bijoy was really funny. Bijoy and Ishwari's subtle tashan is so enjoyable for me, the only man left in the show who reads through her dirty mind with zero error 😳
