This one is based purely on my imagination...another small attempt to contribute to Devakshi crazy world ...do read and comment or atleast like to encourage me to continue(flashback part in italics)

The Intended Disguise

Chapter I

It was a long, tiring day for Dev...16^th August...how he hated this jinxed day...it has been 6 long years since that fateful incident of his life took place...but still the wounds were fresh in his mind...his heart felt a stabbing pain whenever he thought about it...however hard he tried to forget it, something or the other kept on reminding him of that incident and the biggest mistake of his life..."How long do I have to suffer like this?" he thought...it was this particular day that changed his life forever...6 years ago...

Dev was very happy today...his mother had finally agreed for his and Sona's relationship...he had got to hear it from her that she was happy with their decision to spend life together...Sona had been arguing with him for past few days that she thinks his mother doesn't approve of this alliance...how bad and miserable he had felt hearing this from her...how dare she say something like this about his mother, his GOD, his support system...his mother meant the entire world to him and he had already made it clear to sona that she would always remain the second most important lady in his life...and she had merrily agreed to it..."Hamara rishta purane rishton ke saath compete nahin karega, balki use complete karega..." she had said...how proud he had felt of himself for having fallen in love with a gem like sona...his sona...then what happened now that she was hell bent on telling him about his mother dislike towards her? Did she intend to take the most important place in his life and push his mother down the ladder? Did she herself not like his mother and hence was creating a forced situation around him so that he too starts doubting his mother's intentions...no, not at all...he did not doubt his sona...he just couldn't...he knew her inside out ...she was not of that type...then why did she suddenly start behaving like this?...many questions aroused in his mind but he failed to find an answer to anyone of them...

He had just arrived after a tiring day at office...soon after entering his abode his eyes by default would look out for his sweetheart...but she was nowhere to be seen...he was told by then househelp that she had already left an hour back..."aaj kal mujhse milkar jaana bhi jaroori mehsoos nahi hota hai tumhe Sona...kya hum itne dur ho gaye hain ek dusre se ki tumhe mere lautne tak intejaar karna bhi manjoor nahi"he thought. Planning to call her up later he retired to his room, ready to collapse in bed, his head was hurting badly...how he wished sona would be there to give him a head massage. He happened to check his phone and realized that sona had called him several times...dan his phone...he had put it on silent mode during his important meeting and forgotten to get it off silent mode after his meeting...cursing his luck he immediately called back sona...only to be greeted by her meek voice on the other side...she had cried for long hours, he could easily guess..."kya hua sona? Tabiyat to thik hai na tumhari?" he asked all concerned...he learned from her that her family had visited his place in his absence, that her father had a word with his mother and didn't have quite a pleasant experience though...he tried convincing her that her father must have misunderstood his mother's words, that she can't be against his happiness...but she was not ready to hear a word against her parents...egos clashed and they fought badly...eitherone disconnected their phones without even listening what the other person had to say...

He ran to his mother's room, he wanted a confirmation from her that she was happy with his choice of a life partner...and yes she did agree to his plea...she did say that she was indeed happy with his choice...then what happened suddenly that she took a drastic step which could take her life away...he was away expressing his happiness to his love...he was with his Sona to tell her that she can go off all her fears regarding their alliance as his ma has given a full nod to their relation...he spent some cozy moments alone with her before returning back home only to find his mother lying unconscious in her room...his eyes started blurring...tears threatening to fall...and before he could fathom anything he had almost lost all the happiness of his life...his life had turned upside down in a fraction of a second...

"Had I not taken this decision that day my life would have been a lot more different" thought Dev.

(Precap : Ishwari goes to mall with Nikki, she enters kids store to shop for Neha's kids when she spots someone there, blood shot up to her brain...there stood Sonakshi...her nutrition...wearing a mangalsutra around her neck...the parting of her hair adorned with bright red vermillion...and with her stood a small, little boy...for whom she was busy shopping...)

A fantastic start

Sona telling Dev his mother may not truly be happy with their relationship and like any son he is confident his mother is happy with his happiness but when Sona tells him her father and his mother spoke the outcome was not good again Dev feels maybe her father misunderstood creating now a barrier between them as he feels his mother cannot be wrong

Chapter II

Dev's train of thoughts was brought to a halt by the screeching sound of the car coming to a halt outside his mansion. He realized that his mother and sister, who had gone out shopping for Neha's 5 year old daughter and the second to be born kid, had arrived home. Pushing aside his unpleasant thoughts he wiped off the tears that had by now started brimming in his doe-eyes and plastered a fake smile on his face to welcome the duo. Nikki was as usual busy on her phone telling her Riya di who was now married, about the shopping they had just done. What caused him to chuckle was his mother who seemed a bit worried, "what could be the reason of her sudden grumpyness", he thought.

"kya hua maa, aapki tabiyat to thik hai na? aap kahein to Dr. Sinha ko call karun?", inquired a concerned Dev.
"arrey nahi beta doctor ko bulane ki kya jaroorat hai. Main bilkul thik hoon bas thodi si thak gayi hoon. Yeh Nikki bhi na, pure mall mein daudaya mujhe yeh kehkar ki koi dress khareedni hai, maine kahan bhi ki agar who nahin mil rahi hai to koi aur khareed le par nahin, yeh mane tab na. kehne lagi ki maa meri friend ke paas bhi aise hi dress hai aur mujhe bhi chahiye, kaun samjhyaega isse ab", she tried to explain herself unreasonably much to Dev's displeasure.

Dev had understood that this was certainly not the reason behind his mother's unrest, but he didn't wish to probe further into it as this would add more fuel into the fire and his mother would end up getting even more infuriated. Deciding to let it go he got up from his seat all set to go to office, bending down he touched her feet to seek her blessing which had been his daily routine for years together. "maa main office jaa raha hun, sham ko lautne mein der ho jayegi, tu khana samay se kha lena". Saying so he walked off, taking the backseat of the car his thoughts once again trailed off to the most dreaded day of his life.

She had failed in all his attempts to reach out to him. He had not been picking up her calls for the past 3 hours. Something inside her told her that he was in some sort of trouble, he needed her badly, but he himself had cut off all the paths leading to her. She wanted to hear his voice for once but felt helpless for not being able to do so. Finally she decided to give up on calling Dev and tried calling Nikki who picked up her call at the first attempt. She sounded worried much to her inner turmoil, the information she gave Sona shook the floor beneath her feet. Dev's mother, her auntyji was hospitalized for an overdose of sleeping pills. How could this be true, she was all ok when Sona had left for her home in the evening, then what happened to her all of sudden that she had to intake an overdose of pills. The first thought which came to her mind was that she had to reach out to Dev, he needed her badly in this moment of crisis, how could he not feel the need of calling her when she was the first person whom he would run to for any sort of emotional support. She informed her parents about the situation and quickly left for the hospital, on reaching there she inquired at the reception about Ishwari Dixit and got her room number, there he stood in the corridor, looking all pale and devastated. She ran to him and took him into her embrace, he looked like a troubled child, she needed to calm him down, but what earned her attention was the fact that he did not respond to her affection, she moved away from him when she failed to feel his hands curling around her waist. What had happened to him; has his mother's condition hurt him so badly that he failed to notice that his best friend and lover had come to be with him in this hour of distress.

"it's over", he said, "you and me are over, we will have to break up Sona, you were right as always, maa is not happy with our relationship, and I don't want to hurt her in order to get my wishes fulfilled, there's no future for the two of us together, its better we part ways right from this moment", his hearts pierced her heart like a sharp arrow. How could he even say this to her, after being in a relationship for 3 months, after making so many promises of being together forever, all he managed to say to her was it's over. Was she only this important to him in his life, that all it took him to end their relationship was his mother's slight ignorance which had landed her in the hospital. Anger took over her mind as her love for this man got suppressed somewhere deep down in her heart, unable to take this insult hurled at her mercilessly she decided to move away from his life, and leave him to his destiny, never to return to him back again.

It had been six years, six long years but still the memories of that fateful night were still fresh in his mind, why did his fate had to be so bad that he had to choose between the two most important people in his life, both of whom were important for his existence.

DIXIT MANSION

Here Ishwari was busy pacing up and down in her room, Radharani was quite confused with her behavior, there was something that was bothering her, she had come across a particular person the mall a while ago who was related to a bitter memory of her past... who had almost snatched her son away from her... who had occupied her Dev's mind to such an extent that he had started skipping his office... he would come up with lame excuses of being at home...he would loiter around the kitchen unnecessarily much to her displeasure. Why had she come back to this city...what did she intend to do... did she have a plan of coming into her son's life again... all these questions clouded her mind and she grew even more restless with the passing time. The worst thing was that she couldn't even speak her heart out to somebody... there was nobody in there whim she could express her fear to... what would they think about her... that she was over-possessive about her son... the fact that was well know to her but she did not want it to come to the fore to anybody else.
