Shravan Reddy being a Hyderbadian made his own identity in City that never sleep" and shares about his sleepless nights with us.
From Hyderabad to Mumbai, how is the journey?
It was not easy but good for sure. I shifted to Mumbai when I was 19 years old. I started off very early and I don't have any connection with glamour world. The first year itself I bagged two shows. Television was never been in my head. I planned for movies only. I use to go and give audition for movies but ended up giving for TV just for practice. I never been fit in the stipulation of the films because I came very early. Initially I rejected television but the people here said "TV is also a big media" and then I thought I have time in hand because I'm quite young. So no complaints. It went off well.
But in between you took 4 years gap? Why?
Well that gap is because of my health issues. I had an injury and later met with an accident. Initially 2-3 years I was working and then 4-5 years I took gap due to the issues. It's kind of forced sabbatical. But again now I'm working from past 2 years back to back. It seems good.
In what way you bounced back after span of 4 years?
Honestly, I felt I was a newcomer when I again started off. Before pause I did 3 shows. Post grike I was worried. Things changed. People changed. New people conquered. You don't know them and what they are making actually. When you done noticeable work but still you have to ask work the mental game which happens is much more stressful. I couldn't accept that mentally. One have to adopt to the situation and finally I did it.
Being a South person why you forayed into "City of Dreams", why not Tollywood?
Nine years back I came to Mumbai. So at that time things were different. But now it changed. May it was because of my immature head. There is no particular reason. It's just an instant reason. Even now I keep meeting people to work down South. If I get a chance to work in Tollywood, I will do. I'll be much happier to do in my mother patios.
Though Manmarziyan was for short span, fans love was never ending for you. How does it feel be part of that show?
Being very honest, Manmarziyan is one show about which I'm very proud of. I really loved the whole concept and character. I don't know whether to give the statement or not but people always try to make new concepts. But at last they change into another daily soaps. But this show came up with new genre and unique concept for the first time on Indian television. Every person who connected with the story are intrigued with this fresh air. Lot of times I lived the role because they gave that freedom. But the only thing I the audience who watch TV might not relate to Manmarziyan. That's the fact. But you see online Manmarziyan always been topped. Because youth was intrigued with the show and they use to watch it online. But overall I'm well pleased because of creative satisfaction.
What made you to get involve with Krishnadasi?
The channel, scale of the show. I always did the genre which are based on youth. In my initial days Sab TV is the only youth channel show and I did Jersey 10. Undeniably I always picked youth shows. So when Krishnadasi was offered to me I picked it up because more than urban, rural people gets connected with it.
Is Aryan like you or different?
As an actor in every character you end up finding something. There are lot of things which connect me with Aryan. He is arrogant. Even I'm arrogant but not in negative sense as he has. Even if similarities are not there, but still as an actor we take references and come up with that feel. One more thing is he respects women and stands for them. I connect with Aryan and at the same don't because I have not come across a parochial family.
When Aryan learned the truth that Aardhaya is Krishnadasi daughter, his feelings changed towards her. So does his feelings always change according to her birth file?
It all depend on TRP. We also don't know what will happen and when. If creative team feels to change then they will and that will happen because of the audience and their interest in that track. For Aardhaya and Aryan it's all about love and family but for ancestors it's their revenge. Judging Aardhaya image right now is not good. But I would say Aryan who carries of with heart, only with Aardhaya's family he is rude. That is what his grand-father and mother nurtured from childhood. So at this point of time those talks are being pre-dominant in his head. Things do change where love is there.
But don't you feel Aryan being an educated guy he should try to know the actual truth?
In childhood you don't know the difference between truth and lie. But while growing you can see it because you are educated and at the same time you will have a sense to judge others and their feelings. In recent episodes he have taken a stand for his sister. You never know in future he will do for his love too. At the same time people can see conventional drama very soon. Personally I also don't like if everything goes smooth. So yes, ups and downs will be there in Aryan and Aardhaya's like but let's hope for best.
How is Shravan behind the camera?
Very boring. I'm serious. I'm actually a boring person in real life. I don't do anything. I have habit of watching lot of films. I like to sit at home and work out at time.
Has an actor what changes you personally undergone from your debut to Krishnadasi?
Whenever you work in different genres, you will definitely grow. An actor should keep facing camera always and it only happens when you practice. I'm growing as an actor and but still there is long way to go. Few times you won't have a liberty to perform. You have to work in the given lines.
Say about "Shravanians"
I did not expect this. I was little taken back. That shows how powerful TV is. My role was so well accepted. It's great. As an actor we worked for fans love. That is their way of appreciation to say they like me.
