Alamelu mangathaa puram.

Alamu, Basker and Krishnan bang on the door and Vidya momentarily clutches her eyes closed and then Alamu threatens that she too would follow suit and so fearing her mom's presence with her in heavenly abode, Vidya reconsiders. She opens the door and Basker and Alamu threaten to kill her for the stunt she pulled. didn't they just stop her for that? maybe they want to do the good deed themselves and not give her credit. Alams then explains to Basker that namma veettu kavarimaan oru sol porukka maattaamal, went to this extreme. All coz of that edupatta paya Rajesh. She says Guru's mom talked ill abt Vidya's character. Krishnanukku aval kidacha maadhiri. He wants a full explanation. Alamu goes in detail abt Vidya being promised to a USA maapLai for 25 lakhs and how they could cough up only 10 and then their status changed and they are yet to give 15 lakhs..(indha kaalathula ippadi pEsaradhukkE dowry charges irukkum) and meanwhile, one day a thief came into their house looking for some fast cash...(fast and hot cow dung, i can understand coz of the cows, but fast cash? - aanaalum romba doop - and Krishnan keeps nodding disbelievingly in the back) and happened to talk to Vidya and Alamu chased him off with a broomstick. and how this has fact has taken so many turns and now Vidya is accused of harboring her secret boyfriend. Krish sir konjam logicOda, asks 'ok, then ur status was diff. u could promise all that; but in this current situation, the prudent thing would be to get back that 10 L and get a groom to befit their position now. (alamu and vidya give a mental shudder at this - a good maaplai at their present position would target the likes of Guru and his potential maaplai).

Now Alamelu takes out her alpaasthiram...(indha alpaasthirathukku munnaala andha NarayananE vandha idathukku sathamilla pOyittar, indha krishnan emmaathram?) Alams says that how can that be? we have to get Vidya married to that guy only. otherwise, en maanam will be gone. that can never happen. Basker tries to reason but of no avail. Basker says he doesn't have the means; Alamu says things are diff now..Her marumaga is very rich and can finish this sammandam. In fact, didn't his dad extract a promise from abhi that she will take care of all the members in this house? so, if only Basker asks abhi, she would do the needful and get vidya married off to that USA guy. Basker says enough is enough, Abhi has done a lot and it is wrong to ask her for more. Even this she is doing out of her good heart. But Alamu wouldn't hear of it. she polambufies that she will die with her daughter if this marriage doesn't take place.
Krishnan also tells Basker that his position has improved so much now in the company and takes him aside to Odhufy something in his ears.(paNam pOdhaamal oru naaLum irukka vEndaam; Thols pollaappu illaamal irukka vEndaam)

Second segment was an utter bore.
anu-arthi ladai - Anu goes and soaks some of her clothes and this Arthi idiot goes and adds some of her color bleeding clothes. Anu comes back, sees that her clothes have been bled on, gets mad and confronts Arthi. Arthi says so what? then Anu says you should have done it in a separate bucket. Arthi says, if I had known it had your clothes, I wouldn't have put mine in there. Anu says, ok, what is wrong with my clothes and Arthi says they are nasty. KKK is listening to this from the kitchen. Anu says, nasty? I am from a rich family and Arthi mimics her and says, all of them know abt her; how she is only a maid's daughter and to take this rich girl talk somewhere where it will be believed. Anu is hurt beyond words and KKK comes and shouts at Arthi. Anu runs to her room with tears and KKK says as such, andha poNNu has been hurt by this talk and now Arthi is also being inconsiderate. and accuses of Arthi of having a fatty mouth..(vai kozhuppu jaasthi). Arthi says anu deserved that.

This loser of a husband (Uma's) is standing outside a bar, waiting for handout money to go buy some bottles. A guy with him gives him money (they are tired of waiting for a podiyan to do the job) and TTSIL goes to a wine shop,buys a couple of bottles and chips. Nearing the bar, he sees Uma coming with their kids, on the way back home from school. Uma sees him with vasthu in hand, frowns and says, she genuinely thought that he had changed when he lifted sacks the other day but now this? TTSIL says that even now he is doing a job in the bar; he is the edupidi for folks coming to drink. He, who once upon a time, mingled with the rich and famous in the trendy bars has now resorted to this. Uma dimwit believes him instantly and has tears in her eyes at his plight. The guy says, if only Ganga can get him a job with Abhi constructions (even he has understood that only Abhi const. is the only company that employes losers like him) with a 4 digit salary, he would be rid of such menial jobs. Uma promises to talk to Ganga. After she leaves, the guy goes and tells his friend that he had to act for his wife's sake.

now comes the varutha kozhi part.

Anu and Mano are being served virundhu by chithappu and he is very hospitable. He asks his wife to serve them more leg pieces or something. and says he is yet to see a docile girl like Anu. Anu is all smiles. If someone is called for virundhu, isn't it customary of the housemates to join them? or did they eat in advance? here only A and M are eating while the rest are watching. (btw, thuNukku - that devanand guy is still acting as the loser son) Chithapa says ever since his elder brother left his family, it is him who has been taking good care of them but inspite of that, his aNNi has managed to bring up losers. Abhi, lost her marriage and maybe now she is up in life but for how long? Anu and Mano are uncomfortable. Chithi tries to stop Chithapu but he doesn't oblige. He then says Anandhi has been brought up like a man with no respect for anyone and her life is also in shambles. nothing more can be said abt Arthi, who ran away and then left her husband and came back. (anu smiles inwardly at this arthi dig). chithi interrupts but chithappu cannot be stopped. he says even Mano is not smart until he married anu, which is the smartest thing he did in life. Mano has stopped eating completely and chithappu asks him to eat.
after this, they take the blessings and are given new clothes. Chithappa leads them outside to their pre-paid car and asks Anu to call him for any help anytime.

AFter they leave, son asks dad why he was being so courteous to Anu and he says, all said and done, she is a koteeshwaran family girl. so what if things are not ok now, very soon, when they divvy up the sothu, she will get a huge share and it is always in our best interest if we maintain a good relationship with her, so we can take that sothu from her. Chithi accuses him saying why desire for someone else's wealth? he tells her that he lost his wealth to someone and so it is perfectly logical to go after someone else's in order to regain. Chithi says that is why u never prosper and is being sent inside. Son asks dad what if they dont give Anu any share since she is a maid's daughter? dad says, so what, in that case, I will play devil's advocate and hers and fight for her share and get it for myself.

Monday 24th July

Alamelu, bhaskar and krishnan continue to bang on the door.. she doesnt open it for a while but tries to hang herself, but after a bit she looses the courage and opens the door herself. Everybody scolds her nice except alamelu who says that she is rooshakari like her thats why she tried to hang herself and not take shame like normal people. She screams at bhaskar for bringing them all into this nillamae..

Uma's looser husband is in front of a bar with his friend to drink thanni, but the boy to bring sarraku is MIA so he offers to go buy it and takes the money and leaves. When he is finished buying and comes out he sees uma and kids passing by there and she spots him with sarakku...as he is the decieving kind..he tells her that he is working in the bar to make money and he has stopped drinking and stuff and does all the drama. He friends shouts out for him and he tells her customer is calling and he needs to go...and tells her when he will start getting 4 digits salary he will be good and doesnt have to do these stuff. He goes back to his friend and when he asks for change he tells her that his kid is sick so his wife took some money from hi,so no change

Anu soaks her pink sarree into a bucket to wash, aarthi right behind her comes and soaks her dress too and aits to read a magzine...anu comes back to wash it and finds out that her pink saree is now blue in color and as usual they both fight and aarthi tells her she is a vellakari ponnu. KKK comes and scolds aarthi for her behaviour.

Anu and Mano go to chitti veedu for virundhu and eat well and his chittappa starts his ramayana about abhi's family. chitti scolds him a lot of times...but he continues to tell anu about everybody in abhi's house and these two feel miserable, but keep their mouth shut. Then finally he tells mano that the only good thing he has done in life is marrying Anu. They eat the food and while leaving get some gifts too and leaves. Chittapa's son asks why all these over acting by him now...so he says that it is a long term plan and ano is a rich girl and when she gets wealth from her family he will try and get it for her being in good terms with her and also...nobody likes her at abhi's house so its good that he keeps her in good books for money... chitti scolds him and goes and his son says what if she doesnt get it...then he says he will go to court and help her fight and get the aasthi.

Tuesday 25th July 2005

Uma and her deadbeat husband are at Thol's house as usual sipping coffee made by who else but our resident coffeemaker Shanti. Thols walks in and Uma asks Thols to find a job for her hubby in Abhi constructions. Thols wants to know why she did not go to Ganga, Uma says that Ganga still does not trust her husband even though he has now reformed to a good person. Thols still looks uncertain but Shanti asks him to find the deadbeat a job at Abhi constructions. Thols then offers him the job of a storekeeper at Abhi constructions and the deadbeat and his wife are very happy. Thols asks the BIL not to mention to anyone that he has got the job through Thols.

Anu and Mano on their way back home after their visit to Chittappa's home. Anu is singing praises of the chittappa saying what a nice person he is and how since he is a "periya manshan" and they should all try and be on his good side. Mano tells her that it is all fake and that chittappa is a nasty character. Anu lets the topic go and says that she wants to visit Rajesh too as he has been so helpful. Mano agrees and calls Rajesh asking if they could come and visit him and Rajesh immediately agrees.

Abhi is seen interviewing DB (deadbeat) and he spins a sob story of how he is supporting his drunken FIL and his family! Abhi as usual falls for this sorry tale and gives him the storekeepers job. He asks her to talk to a lady (didn't catch her name) and get further details about the job from her. He goes to the lady who asks him if he has any questions, and he says that he does not know anything about the job and therefore has no questions!! He is more interested in knowing if Abhi is really divorced and if her ex-husband works for her. The lady gives him a dirty look and walks away.

Bhaskar and Krishnan are in the home of Vidya's fianc. Bhaskar is telling the guy the sad state of his life and the other guy in turn returns the favour by saying how his business had to be closed, and how they had fallen into hard times. He tells Bhaskar that he was willing to come down to an amount of 5 lakhs for the wedding and that money would help him set his son up with a new business. Bhaskar wonders on how to porattufy this money and this man asks him to make money on the side through his job (read illegally!) Bhaskar the idiot, is of course considering the idea

Update for Wednesday 26th July 2006

Ganga walks into the office and seeing her BIL is shocked and confronts him. BIL gleefully tells Ganga that he is now an employee of Abhi constructions and is the new storekeeper. She marches into Thol's cabin and angrily asks him why he gave her BIL a job. She tells him that her BIL is not a good person and he has not changed his ways. Thols says that if she thinks Bhaskar has changed, why not her BIL. Ganga of course has no answer to this. BIL is eavesdropping and Krishnan comes by. Bhaskar also comes by and BIL asks him who he is. Bhaskar says that he is Abhi's husband.

Sundari is seen cooking and Rajesh is ordering her and his mother around. His friend Guru is also sent off to buy some banana leaves for the newlyweds to eat in. Mano and Anu are there and Mano tries to tell Rajesh that they have just had lunch but Rajesh insists that they should eat at his home. He says that they will anyway not eat much here as Sundari is the one cooking and if only Aarti was around she would have cooked up a great meal for them, as she is an excellent cook. Anu consoles Rajesh by saying that Aarti still loves him but does not know how to express herself and that she would come back very soon. She also says that she must have left for some other reason that no one knows about and Sundari who is listening to all this looks worried.

Bhaskar along with Krishnan and a broker are seated (Same guy who made Aadhi an offer for the flats) Broker offers them a deal of selling flats behind Abhi for 20 lakhs per apartment. Krishnan says that no decision in Abhi constructions is made without the approval of Bhaskar and Bhaskar is preening here. Krishnan wants to know how much commission they would get and the broker says 5 lakhs. Krishnan wants Rs 25,000 more and the broker agrees and leaves. Giri is waiting outside and is briefed by the broker as to what happened in his meeting with Bhaskar. A very satisfied Giri calls Adhi and updates him on the latest happenings.

Mano and Anu are being dropped home by Rajesh. Anu insists that Rajesh come in for a coffee. Aarti walks in and demands to know where they were. Mano says that they had been to chittappa's house and then to Rajesh's house. Aarti wails that today all her manam and mariyadhai is gone because you have visited Rajesh. Anu says that they went to chittappa's house as Karpagam wanted them to and they went to Rajesh's house because they wanted to and Aarti has no say in this. They argue and Aarti threatens Anu that she is stepping out of her place. Anu says that she is where she should be but Aarti is not. She says that Aarti has no respect for her husband or his family and as such had no right to point fingers at her. Aarti of course has no answer to this and all of them leave to go their separate ways. Rajesh asks Aarti to come with him and she throws him a killing look and leaves…

Update for Thursday 27th July 2006

Rajamani, Abhi, Thols and Ganga are in a meeting and Bhaskar and stepney Krishnan come in. Bhaskar recommends them to buy the sites for which he gets commission and lists some points in favour of his argument. Abhi consults with Thols as to what his opinion is, Thols says that he in his opinion they do not need to take on this additional commitment at this moment in time. Bhaskar knowingly replies that he knew Thols would react this way as he was the one who had this idea and that Thols would not like anything that Bhaskar says. Abhi shushes him up and Thols says that at this moment their priority should be Rajamani Madam's construction and that they did not need any other distraction at this stage. He says that an additional project is a risk now that they should not take. Rajamani says that risk is something that comes hand in hand with any project and that just because of a fear to take any risk we should not let opportunities go out of our hand. She also supports Bhaskar saying that she thinks Thols does not want to take this project on as it was suggested by Bhaskar. Rajamani encourages them to take up this project. Thols is annoyed and walks out. Bhaskar and Krishnan are elated. (Really isn't this getting a bit too much? Why can't someone knock Thols and Bhaskar's head together and straighten them out!! Very annoying seeing this happen in every episode)

Naming ceremony for Usha's and Aadhi's child

Usha and Patti are going downstairs where the entire family is waiting. Of course Rekha and her evil appan are also there. There is some discussion and suggestions thrown around by Patti and Arjun about the child's name but Usha is not happy with any of them.

Easwaran asks Usha's parents if they have any suggestions. Someone asks Usha's dad for his fathers name and he says Balasubramaniam. Our ever-helpful minister pipes in and asks him to tell the name of Usha's real father's father. At this Usha and her parents are enraged and now we see glimpses of the old Usha (not the sati savithri that she has been of late! Thank God the girl has found some of her spine!) Usha asks the minister if he has no decency at all and doesn't he know when he should say what? Adhi as usual yells at her but she just steamrolls ahead. Gujju mami asks her to be respectful to which Usha retorts that they were all her family and anything they say she will put up with it but she does not have to take any nonsense from a total stranger (At this point I was going go girl!) She asks him to stop calling Adhi his mapillai, if his daughter was not married to Adhi how does Adhi become his mapillai? She goes on to say how she was putting up with a lot of hardship in Adhi's family but Adhi was treating Rekha like she was the daughter in law of the family and not her. Rekha and minister march out angrily and so does Gujju mami, Adhi and Giri.

Usha is consoled by Easwaran, Patti and her parents. They urge her to chose a name for the baby and proceed with the ceremony. Usha recalls a conversation with Abhi where she had mentioned that she liked the name "Kailash". She decides to name her son "Kailash". Adhi comes down and is fuming that they have named his child without his presence

Next scene – Construction site

Supervisor is ordering the workers around. Thols comes in and chit chats with the supervisor. He notices Maari and gang working and asks the supervisor why he had not fired them as he had said earlier. Supervisor says he did not know that Thols was serious. Thols gets angry and orders him to do as he says and send Maari and his friend's home.

Thols is walking away and Bhaskar and Krishnan show up. They size each other up in the meantime an elderly man walks by with some planks of wood and brushes Bhaskar with them by mistake. Bhaskar gets wild and almost hits the old man. Another person comes up and asks Bhaskar why he was at the site. Bhaskar goes off at him too saying he had a right to be here and who was he to question him. This guy innocently says that Thols was in charge. Poduma, Bhaskar now turns on Thols and they start fighting. Thols asks Bhaskar to stop coming to the site and Bhaskar asks who Thols was to give him such orders. Thols says he was a partner in the company and had a right to tell him. Bhaskar challenges him saying what will you do if I refuse to leave, Thols says that he will physically throw him out. They now use their fists and start a physical fight. Everyone is watching and realising this Thols walks away.

While all this was happening, supervisor goes to Maari and tells him that Thols wants them gone. Maari and gang start packing up to leave and someone accidentally knocks over a metal plank. The plank hits the ground and surprise surprise! Almost hits Bhaskar and Krishnan. Delusional Bhaskar looks up and screams at Maari if Thols had asked them to kill him…

Update for Friday 28th July 2006

Maari and his gang are being taken away by the police. Bhaskar is talking to the supervisor and the supervisor says that it was an accident and no one planned this. Bhaskar is furious and yelling at the supervisor and Abhi comes in. Bhaskar starts to explain, Krishnan butts in and explains the whole situation, Bhaskar and Thols had an argument, both got into a physical altercation and how Krishnan had to intervene to stop them both. Bhaskar tells Abhi that Thols wants to finish him off and Maari and Gang protest their innocence to Abhi. Abhi calls Thols and asks him to come to the site immediately. Thols comes and Abhi demands that Maari and gang are thrown out immediately. Abhi asks Bhaskar how dare you lodge a complaint to the police without consulting me, Bhaskar retorts that he values his life and so had lodged a complaint. Abhi asks Bhaskar to take back his complaint and he does so. Policeman however says that until he comes to the police station and formally withdraws his complaint, he will hold Maari and gang in custody.

Rekha and minister in conversation. Rekha is angry and upset at Usha for treating her and Minister in such a bad way. Adhi overhears the conversation and tries to pacify Usha. He tells her that so far he has never been in a partnership with anyone however he has one with Rekha as he has a special place for her in his heart. Rekha is not taken in by his explanations and asks him to leave. Minister scolds her for turning Adhi away. Minister tells her how he can line up very eligible men for her if she only says yes. Rekha says that she wants to go as a daughter-in-law to Adhi's house. Since Adhi is now married she will now settle for Arjun the younger son. Minister is doubtful if Arjun will be a good match but Rekha is adamant.

Thols is at his home and Shanti wants to know why he is so quiet. Thols does not answer and by then Maari and gang, walk in. They ask Thols why he did not support them when Abhi wanted to throw them out. Thols says that the situation was such that he could not do anything. He assures them that he still values them a lot and would get them another job. Maari and gang say how they were goondas but have now turned into good human beings and this is all only because of Thols. They say that Abhi is not a good person. Thols is enraged and slaps Maari. Everyone is shocked and Maari goes away saying that Thols will have to pay for this slap. Shanti further interrogates Thols on his behaviour and he asks her to leave him alone.

Abhi and Karpagam talking. Abhi is telling Karpagam about the latest incident with Thols and Karpagam is saying that she can't believe that Thols has changed so much. Anandhi walks in and Abhi gently tries to break the news to her that Thols has refused to marry her. Anandhi says that she was the one who had told Thols that she had doubts about the marriage and that she did not want to marry him anymore. Abhi does not believe her and says that she is saying this only to mask her disappointment. Abhi tells her that Thols is now a changed man and she sees a lot of jealousy and insecurity in him. Anandhi defends Thols saying that he is a good person and that as evil has walked in the good has walked out. She says Bhaskar is now in and so Thols is being phased out because of Bhaskar's evil ways. Abhi still insists that Thols is not the good person he was and Karpagam yells at both of them to stop….

day by day, day by day, business payaNam thodarattum, moozhgaadha fishE selfish nee.

Chithappu comes in with a red file...(borrowed from abhi constructions) and calls out for his Satish. Loser boy comes out and dad tells him he has a wonderful plan and how it is easier if they do the business themselves. No doubt the others were knowledgeable but Chithappu now knows the intricacies...and so will make crores in one shot. And he has also found legal loopholes if need be. A concerned Chandra and chithi are observing this monologue with worry. Now Chandra bursts out and tells mama that this wont do. She will not allow her husband to be led astray by him. neenga enna vEnumnaa paNNunga, kettu kutti chuvaraa pOnga..but leave my husband alone. Chithappu says but he is my son first...Chandra says that may be so but he also is a husband and dad..and he has to do his duty to them. She again reiterates that chithappu can go to h*** as far as she is concerned but not to involve her husband. Chithappu implores to son who goes with a raised hand. Chandra says beat me, but I will still not allow you to do this fraud business. Chithappu gives a paLaar to her. and chithi is shocked. She comes and asks how he can hit his DIL and he tells her let Chandra remember how she came into this house, pretending she was pregnant and Thols supported her. (what is this new story? she did not pretend. she was pregnant, wasn't she?) Chandra says, so what? now you cannot corrupt your son like this. Chithappu warns them that he will kill them if they interfere and takes his son away inside.

A hotel hall - what is with this Adhi's family? they always play good cop, bad cop. He and Kanchu tolerate Usha and kid and then they smile, and then they show their uggggggly face. Apparently, Rekha, who had missed the baby's naming ceremony had arranged for a function for the baby...wherein the said baby Kailash, is perched on Usha's hips, with Adhi standing by....and this fact is told by Adhi to his guests. Why shd Rekha throw a party and why shd this Usha come to it? oru vevasthai ketta kudumbam. All other family members are in their finery. Arjun sneaks a spoon ful of bhel puri from his paatti's plate. (saapadra scene-kku correctaa vandhuduvaa indha keyavi...mathapadi Usha saramaariyaa vaangumbOdhu, aaL ambEl).

Getting back to party mode - Rekha is sulking in a corner...(btw, indha American culture copying mOgam thalai virithaadugiradhu..ippO thalai varai vandhu vittadhu. Rekha, imagine, was sporting a hairstyle typical of African Americans...izhuthu vaari with tributaries running from the top of her head into way deep into the back...) and Adhi walks up to her and thanks her for arranging this function. She says she feels bad abt him missing the function at his house. He again states that he is very lucky to have her as a partner (business), a status he has never accorded to anyone else so far. And asks what can he do in return for this nice gesture? he also feels bad that he left at the altar..and promises his help. Rekha asks if Adhi would help her...and she needs favours. He says, utharavu idungal (not L) and she says when the time is right, he has to do as per her wishes. Usha is watching with green eyes. dad dear comes to her..She says come what may, he has to talk to Eashwar and arrange for her marriage with Arjun.. she needs to go as a DIL into that house. He says ok, he will lay the foundation. Meanwhile, Eashwar calls minister to come meet one of his judge friend. who is apparently a very honest and a correct public servant. Minister oLarufies as to how he is happy to have become the friend of that man...Adhi is asked the kid's name and he mouths Kailash...so it is official. Kanchu and Anjali are smiling in one corner. (ok, they all heard Usha's outburst the other day against this minister. now why would Eashwar call him to introduce him to the judge? edhukku importance kudukkaNum? maybe he is secretly ok and wishes that Adhi follows in his footsteps. oru wife aachu. so second -Rekha?)

The minister goes to talk to Eashwar and calls him aside when the judge calls for everyone's attention and says, he has high regard for Eashwar's family and would like to give his daughter's (BE) hand in marriage to Arjun. tadaing............Rekha's already long face becomes longer...minister is shocked. Judge says it was not right to blurt this out in open but his wife wanted him to ask this..and he would very much like to have this alliance. Adhi, Kanchu, Paati the whole gang is all wearing proud smiles...paavam judge..he cannot apparently judge people..wait until his daughter comes in..then he will know abt the cheating dad, short-fuse-sometimes-crazy Adhi (with just 16 teeth - bhaaki 16 pallai romba azhuthi kadichadhaala pOyE pOchu), useless Arjun whose only firm terminology is bhaiyaa, altop anjali and magician Paati who does the disappearing act too often to consider her a regular in that household.

Eashwar asks Arjun who nods a shy yes, and Eashwar says he is honored and they will meet in each other's houses to talk further about this and says judge's daughter is a very well brought up girl and they are indeed lucky. Minister comes to Rekha and says, ennamma ippadi aachu? and she says, i know, i did not expect this. but do whatever is necessary but I have to go as DIL to their house. Minister is thoughtful. (Arjun kidaikkalainaa, how will Eashwar look as his prospective SIL? is running thru' his head..)

My 9 yr old son, asked me, Mom, who is this lady with muscles? poor fellow, he doesn't understand that there are girls out there, waiting for one glimpse of this female Schwarzenegger.

Anjali spots him, mouths why he is here, he says he has to talk to her urgently, she summons him inside where she is on a giggling round with her friends...he tells her that they have planned a trip to Pondicherry the next day..and all their friends gang are in it. she says, what to Pondy? he says, yes, they have planned all sort of fun activities...and asks her to come to their meeting place tomorrow. she says ok and tells him to leave before anyone sees him...But our James Bond Usha watches this interchange, though she cant hear a thing.

Anandhi is at Thols place and tells him Abhi is too dumb to listen to her explanations and thols tells her that things have changed and he is not in a position to say many things to Abhi but soozhnilai has acted against him. They even sent out Maari and gang who were helpful dealing with Adhi. and Abhi pays attention to Basker's words these days. and he has presented a doomsday proposal. Anandhi is concerned and says they have to talk to Abhi but Thols says, she is not ready for any explanations. Coffee maker also throws in the news abt Alamelu's verbal attack against Thols (he is a pombaLa porukki) and herself...which she cannot even say. Anandhi fumes against Alamelu and wants to confront them but Thols stops her.

some highway. camera zooms in on an white ambassador but no one special is in it. rather, we see Madman Maddy leaning against his Toyota SUV...waiting for Five rats. He calls up his trusted friend (a vadivelu look alike - vadivelu of yesteryears) and boasts that he has hit jackpot...and has targeted a bird..rich bird...in anjali..Adhi's sister. Young vadivelu knows of this and says will it work out? Maddy says, yes he has made all arrangements in the Gateway resort...and orders him to get the camera and other things setup and ready...to start rolling. Then they can extort Adhi for say, one crore..50 L each...

Anjali comes in an auto and asks for other friends. Maddy says they all left earlier, she climbs in the van, and then it is close-up time. (they shd use this scene as commercial for using close up and regular visits to dentists)..sorry friends, Maddy's teeth in closeup was a nightmarish sight...He spouts all garbage...abt how he respects girls, they shd be given equality in all, no submissive attitude, advocates female rights, his dream girl is one whom he will give all equal rights, why should men use women to satisfy their wishes? shouldn't women also have the same privilege? he believes in it and will treat his wife like that. and Five rats is slowly melting...and there is only one rat left....in this equality mazhai...She shoots 'you are awesome' looks at the Adonis...and has dreams in her eyes that makes her blind to the fact that he has crooked teeth and colorful teeth.
He gives sideways glances at her, enjoying her buying into all this nonsense talk...
while the van travels on.............

P.S. - no, Usha is not following in an auto.....maybe Abhi will be at the Gateway resort for a high level conference with the new storekeepers association, led by our great Ramachandra PrabhO.....and then abhi will save Five rats...and Adonis will next target Abhi...now that Shivdas, Thols and Mahesh are out of the picture, she is in need of another follower....hey, maybe that is why she is trying in vain to look like a 20 yr old....

Bhaskar's home

Rajesh comes in fretting and fuming. Alamelu asks him what happened and he says that he was in a fight with some fellows who were speaking ill about Aarti. He says that he has done everything in his power to win Aarti back but nothing was working. Alamelu says that the only option left is her "magic viboothi and her manthram and tanthram"! She says that it was because of her manthrichufied viboothi that Abhi was still respectful to Alamu and that all her family still had a lot of respect for her. Rajesh gets all excited and wants some of this magic potion so he can win Aarti back. At this moment, Anandhi comes in and fires Alamelu for interfering in her family business. She tells Alamelu that it is none of her business if she marries Thols or not and that she had no right to speak ill about Thols or Shanthi. Alamelu muzhunjifies and ashaduvazhal's and tries to cover up. Rajesh slinks away.

A Beach resort (or so they say!)

Maddy and Anjali step out of a car. They walk for a while and reach the disco. Anjali is excited and goes off to dance and Maddy jollu vazhunjifies. Maddy's sidekick arrives and tells him that the camera is all set under the bed. Sidekick warns Maddy that Adhi is a very powerful man and if they get caught Maddy would be in big trouble. Maddy boasts that he would extort at least 1 crore from Adhi.

Bharathi with his parents in a restaurant

Bharathi tells his parents that he wants to marry Anandhi but she is now preoccupied with Karthik. He says that she will need a push and asks his parents to go formally to her house and ask for her hand. His parents agree

Back to the resort

Sidey Maddy invites Anjali to his room to get 'refreshed'. Anjali goes into the bathroom, sidey (sorry Maddy!) pulls the camera out and adjusts its position. He then starts dancing (or some such thing) and when Anjali comes out he gets her to dance along with him. He then tries to put the moves on her by hugging her, asking her to sit on the bed with him. Anjali looks uncomfortable and is protesting angrily.

August 2nd Update


Scene continues from yesterday where Maddy and Anjali are in the resort room. Someone knocks on the door, Anjali opens it and finds abathbandhavan, Kishore standing outside. Kishore says that he was here on a business trip. Adhi now calls on Kishore's cell and asks him to come back immediately. Kishore tells him that Anjali was also there and Adhi asks him to bring her with him too. Kishore asks Anjali to pack up and come with him. Anjali goes back in and tells Maddy that her fiance was here and that she was leaving with him. Maddy is upset and says that he wished that he had met Anjali before Kishore. Maddy's sidekick comes in and says that all of Maddy's plans were now foiled by Kishore and Maddy says that she escaped this time but there will be another time

Rajamani and Abhi construction group members along with Abhi in a meeting. Flat owners in the site behind Rajamani are also there. Abhi says that she is willing to pay 10 lakhs at the onset and would pay the rest upon registration. The flatowners say they want 25 lakhs. Thols protests Bhaskar rejects. There is a lot of argy-bargy going on and all dialogues at this point are thankfully, muted. Abhi finally agrees to settle for 25 lakhs.

Adhi's home

Kishore and Anjali's parents are looking at their wedding invitation and ooh and aahing over it. Kishore's mother wants to go to the temple and offer the first invitation to the Gods. Eashwaran and Kanchu agree. Anjali and Kishore enter. Kishore says that he was in Pondicherry for a business trip and that he had met Anjali there. Kishore's dad is surprised and says that this morning you mentioned that you were going somewhere else, Kishore gives some kind of lame excuse and thappichufies (Looks like he knows about Anjali's doings, maybe Usha alerted him again) They all decide to leave to the temple and Kishore's mother wants Anjali to come along. Anjali says she has a headache and refuses to join them. She goes away with Usha following her. Usha says that Kishore's parents are her future in laws and that she should go to the temple with them. Anjali is annoyed and asks Usha to mind her own business. Usha leaves and Anjali is thinking about what Maddy said when she left, "I should have met you before you got engaged to Kishore"…

Abhi's house

Bharathy and his parents come to Abhi's house with a plate filled with flowers and fruits. The father is hesitant but the mother urges him on. They call out for Abhi and Abhi comes out followed by her mother, Mano and Anu. They say that they have come to ask for Anandhi's hand for their son. Abhi and co are shocked and Karpagam tries to mumble something. Bharathy's parent's say that they are aware of Anandhi's broken engagement with Karthik and that they would not hold that against Anandhi and were also happy to look after Karthik like their own son after marriage. Abhi and Karpagam are confused and want to know what they were talking about. They explain how Karthik is now back in Anandhi's life and all are shocked…

August 3rd Update

Scene continuing from yesterday where Bharathi's parents are talking about taking care of Karthik. All are shocked and want to know what they are talking about. Anandi walks in and wants to know why they are here. Karpagam says they are here to ask for her hand in marriage to Bharathi. Karpagam and Abhi angrily ask Anandi why she did not tell them about Karthik. Anandhi tries to explain that she was waiting for the right moment but they are not happy with her explanation. Bharathi's parents apologise for letting out Anandhi's secret and go away.

Anandi is seen talking to Bharathi and angrily asking him how they could come and ponnu kettufy. Bharathi says that it was he who wanted his parents to do so. Anandhi is shocked and tells Bharati that after seeing the experiences of her sisters she has no interest in marriage. Bharati says that Anandhi considers him as his friend, so why can't a good friend also be a good life partner. Anandhi is mum. He asks her to consider the proposal and says that he only has her good at heart. Anandhi's phone rings, it's the nun from the home who tells her that Karthik has run away

Anandi and Bharati rush to the home and furiously, demand as to how Karthik escaped. The nun says that Karthik is not meant to be here, this is not a mental institution and that Karthik is violent and should be at home. She had obliged so far because the priest had requested her but she can't do so anymore.

Abhi's office

Thols barges into Abhi's office where Ganga, Abhi and Bhaskar are there. He is very angry that inspite of his objections Abhi has gone ahead and bought the flats. He tells her that she is making a big mistake but Abhi maintains her stance. Bhaskar as usual opens his big mouth but Abhi asks him to shut up. Thols unhappy stomps out of the office.
