Hey Suram -

You spoke my mind.. I've been meaning to talk about this, but thank you for your thoughts and for giving me a venue to start talking about it..

Like you said, I come to this forum just for fun as well and spend my 'forum' time mostly in the Kolly section.

And so what if I said Jyothika has barrel hips? Jyothika herself knows that anyway. She has been titled the "Thoppai actress" by all Tamil newspapers and Mags for years. It's not like what I said is news to her or that she's going to be visiting this site just to be offended by my comment.

As for Trisha's cellulite comment from Jiggly, again, so what! (that Jiggly herself didn't take Jyothika's barrel comment from me very well, is another thing - but Thanks Jiggly, you let it go). Anyway, quoting Trisha from her interview, it appears that even the worst rumors about her have no effect on her. I would say that I even started liking Trisha a bit after her interview; she does sport a very cool attitude.

The way things have been portrayed here in the Tamil forum, it looks like every single Kollywood Star (and I don't mean the Telly stars) is visiting this site looking to be offended by simple comments, such as barrel hips. That to me, is a silly thought! I'm sure that there are members/non-members out there who agree with me, but probably not forthcoming to post their opinion. What's stopping them, I don't know!

Like you said, Kolly stars have lots more to deal with and all of this bit**ing from us, is just jujebee!

It's inevitable that one person's comment/observation on an actress/actor may not be favorable to another. That doesn't mean people should start.. "Oh you can't say this, you can't say that" and quote some rules, just b'cos they don't like what's being said about their fav actress.

My most recent post was just to point out the hyprocrisy. One can't just be offended when something is being said about your fav actress barrel hips, and then be completely ok to call another actress a stick in their post and to personify themselves as a crusader for all and any actress.

Personally, I don't care if any one likes Shriya or Simran or Jyothika or whoever else. Or if they have something negative to say about their looks. If I don't agree with it, then I would probably post my opinion, but I'm not going to be "policing" around who's saying what and how to stop them with the moderator's help. We are all here to have fun and to post what we think and not to show one is superior than the other!

One thing that does bother me (and I'm proud to say that I have Indian roots) is when some one starts saying Indian this and Indian that with a superiority attitude. That should stop, right away!! If you are discussing a Star, that's one thing and to start categorizing people based on their country/roots is another. It is pretty demeaning and being racist (for lack of a better word). Besides what was said about my Indian mentality in some/one of the recent posts, I have another one..

This is a post from another thread that got me annoyed and now is the right time to bring it up, b'cos references were asked for - what's with the categorization of Indians here? When everyone else is talking about airline passengers in general and not mentioning any nationality (may be they were implying certain things not to hurt the sentiments of fellow Indians), Caryn has to say her thing about "Indians".

I have to bring this up, b'cos Caryn calls herself a crusader for anything being nasty said about any one. Now isn't this nasty? This is what I call hyprocrisy!

I don't know what is it with Indians from India. They will only wear slippers even if they are going to overseas. Malaysians will have a good laugh at them. Sorry guys...... but there alot of immigrants here in Malaysia working esp from Bangladesh, Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka etc. You will see that all the immigrants except Indians wear shoes.

<snip>

What's with the derogatory comment based on footwear? I don't know if Indians in Malaysia are Ok with the stereo-typing of Indians, coming from some one who isn't Indian. I'm not one and this got me completely pissed off, nevertheless!

Why is it when you call people names it is acceptable, but when it is thrown back at you, you can't take it? You yourself have not been diplomatic either, your posts have been aggressive and that is why I stopped responding because I saw it going beyond mere discussion. I find it quite puzzling that you should use strong words and then at the same time have a go at someone else. Hypocrisy is a very strong and nasty word to use - could you not resort to personal remarks please?

Thank you.

Guys, there is no need to point fingers at each other or bring up old post
here. Discuss only about kollywood here, nothing else and PLEASE RESPECT
EACH OTHER.
