😛Sorry just a correction. This is totally out of the point but from which angle did Manisha appear as a flop star? In the 90s, Manisha was infact the most sought after stars, and at one point of time, even more popular than Kajol …

Kajol has always been my fav. Actor since DDLJ. Initial days were tough for her coz she did not exactly have the drop-dead-gorgeous looks and NOT becoz she was a bad actor. Even some Kajol fans will agree with me that Kajol was never that pretty as she is now.

And this was the reason why she had to struggle. But with the makeover in DDLJ, it was an obvious reason why she was considered one of the best actresses in the 90s.. As far giving hits with primarily srk and Kjo go, yes.. I agree her most memorable movies were with them. But she's an intelligent lady n if it works for her, so why not?

As far as Ekta's opinion goes, its perfectly alright. She is entitled to her opinion and I admire her daring open nature. Ekta's opinion is not a fact and will not change my preference for Kajol. So, to me it really doesn't make a difference. And it shouldn't make a difference for kajol fans too.

And why in the world is Rani always dragged into this?? Rani and Kajol belong to two different (if I may say so,nearly) "generation" of actors. Rani and Preity came in MUCH later, when Kajol was already an established star. To me, it's awfully unfair to Rani coz Kajol has the evident experience and its unfair to Kajol, coz at this point of time, Rani is at the peak of her career. The whole comparison is almost baseless.

If you guys really wanna know whether kajol is really overrated, she should be compared to her contemporaries.
Like Karisma Kapoor, Manisha Koirala, Raveena Tandon, Shilpa Shetty and Juhi Chawla. That would be fair and relatively justified. And we can then really see whether she's really overrated ..

I agree with u, but not totally, coz Manisha Koirlala not a flop actress, she is one of the biggest star from the 90's, and she was the talk of the criticism at that time, and she did a lots of hits like Bombay, Khamoshi, Company, etc....

She is not my favourite actress, but I am telling u facts, and these films proved to be hits at that time....

why the hell is ekta kapoor given such importance...So what if she says kajol is over rated...well the next day u might hear her saying the earth is square shaped...that doesn't meant its square...Kajol is a way better actor to be affected by such crappy statements.

Amitabh was angry young man of 70s and is the most sort out star of 2007 at the age of 60...Lets ee where SRK would be at this age...AS of today the roles are written especiually for Amitabh...

I am not the biggest fan of him but I do respect the achievements of others....And he achieved a lot - where are Rajesh Kannna, Shatrughan Sinha, Vinod Khana etc who were with him in 70s.....

Get your fact right first.....plus here we are talking about Kajol being a good actress and now happy in her married life.

Kajol's a great actress and Ekta's a great producer both are very successful and well respected within the industry

everyone has their own opinion but i personally think kajol is agreat actress, she has played so many different role with full conviction which rani can't. what has rani ever done except for black which proves she is a gud actress, her voice is soooooooooo damn annoying, her voice modulation needs work badly wheras kajol's main essence is her voice, she has absolutely rocked in every film she has done, she's no way overrated for me, i guess ekta has some personal problem with her.

i think kajol is over-rated and rani is the better actress bt ekta shudnt hav said it like that
