KOFFEE WITH KARAN RETURNS
Karan Johar is back, and as the self-confessed gossip hound readies for a new season of Koffee With Karan, the Mumbai press was invited to check out the host in his new surroundings, talking about season 2.

To be cast on Star World and Star One simultaneously, the show is on Sunday nights at 9, starting February 11. No one brews koffee and conversation like Karan.

The show is back with an exclusive guest list, which this time round is not just from the entertainment industry but also from the sports and corporate world! Some of the "celeb-combo's" this season will see Kajol, Rani and Shah Rukh, Priyanka and Hrithik, Sanjay Dutt and Priya Dutt, Shahid, Kareena and Karishma, John and Bipasha to name a few.

Diplomatic Karan pleases all

Starting from Feb 11, the next session of Koffe with Karan promieses to be sexier.

Busy with the promotional work of his talk show Koffee with Karan that will be on air soon, the filmmaker seems to be in no mood to talk about anything else. Quiz him about his films and Karan Johar dismisses the thought, "Right now, all I can think about is Koffee…." Starting next Sunday (Feb 11), the show promises to be different. There are reports that it's going to be sexier. Is that true? "The concept is more or less the same. After all, this is our second season and how different can we be?" he asks. Karan thinks that it's his personal equation with the guest that helps in making the show a success. "I let the conversation take its own course. That's the only way to make it interesting. Something which everyone wants," Karan makes a point. So, who is his favourite guest? K Jo (as he is fondly called by his friends) takes a diplomatic stance as he says, "Oh, everyone is different and has something new to share. It's always good to have people like Shah Rukh Khan. He is my favourite. It's tough to choose when the list is so exhaustive." We bet it is!

Karan Johar shoots first episode of 'Koffee...'

Mumbai, Feb 7 (IANS):In what promises to be the zaniest and youngest instalment of 'Koffee With Karan', host Karan Johar brought together Konkona SenSharma, Kunal Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh for an episode shot earlier this week. The weekly show is going on air on STAR One and STAR World Sunday.

'That's the first episode I shot for my second season Sunday. It's my 'Class of 2007'. I've come back to 'Koffee With Karan' after a year-and-a-half. The set this time is far better than the first time. I'm doing what I do best, serve coffee piping hot,' Karan told IANS.

'Konkona, Kunal and Riteish were loads of fun. Konkona had come on the show earlier. So, she was the veteran on the episode. Everyone now comes a little guarded since they're aware of the format. But you know, the show is supposed to be fun. I've a sense of humour. I hope my guests have it too. I can poke fun at myself. No one should take themselves seriously on the show.'

Also on the anvil are episodes with Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra. But the first episode is scheduled to have Rani Mukerji, Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan. That's expected to be shot soon.

Karan would also like to get the three Kapoor brothers -- Randhir, Rishi and Rajiv -- together.

'I always enjoy the veterans more than the youngsters. I had so much fun with Hema Malini and Zeenat Amam's episode.'

Excerpts from the interview:

Karan- If Shahrukh, Kajol and you were on a plane which was about to crash and there were only two parachutes on board, which you had control over, what would you do?
Kajol- Dude, I'm family!

Rani- I would probably stay behind and give the two parachutes because, really, people want to see them together!
Kajol- Stop! Please Stop!
Shahrukh- Tum dono mujhe chipak jaana .. teeno neeche aa jayenge! Kya hai problem yaar! Main Hoon na!

Karan- So it's media hype that you'll don't get along
Kajol- It's not like we're sitting in each others pockets and drinking coffee everyday! This is a rare occasion! (Laughs)

Karan- This only happened because of me, I think!
Rani- Yeah! First happened in Kuch Kuch and now on Koffee with Karan.

Karan- So you'll are literally meeting after 10 years on a sofa?
Rani- On a sofa?
Kajol- Yeah! It was chairs earlier! (Laughs)

Karan- So basically there is unnecessary media speculation, cousin rivalry and all of that!
Kajol- I think its more like, if not friends then you have to be enemies! I don't think people realize that there is a middle ground where "We're ok!" I mean I've never got down to slapping you and you've never gotten down to slapping me! Publicly, verbally, otherwise!

Karan- Thank God! I hope none of you do that today!
Rani- I have a lot of respect for her!
Kajol- Same here! Ditto!
Rani- Why only me? I think the entire family is proud of what Kajol has done- professionally and personally. I don't see why we have to scream from the rooftops and say that "We have respect for one another and we're ok!" We don't have to try and clarify things to the media. What matters is when I meet her and when she meets me we're ok with each other. I don't think we need to show that to the media!

Kajol- Definitely! I totally agree!

Kajol- You know I've said so many mean things to so many people and they've reciprocated in so many ways, that its really difficult to remember which one was the meanest!
