MA.. AROHI AUR BHAI!!! Yeh mazaak hai na?

Savita: Usme burayi kya hai?

Gauri: Umm.. I don't know. Abhi dono par rahe hain (they're both studying right now...)?

Savita: Shaadi ki baat nahi ho rahi... Sagai kar lenge...

Gauri: Phir bhi... She's my age. Everytime bhai'll look at her...

Savita: Tu jab bhi Jay Soni ko dekhti hai ho Arjun nazar aata hai kya? Tho Arjun kyun tu yaad aayegi?

Gauri: Ma, bhai is six years older than Arohi

Savita; Yeh mat bhool, main aur tere abu bhi 10 saal ke faasle mein hain par hum tho bohat khush hain.

Gauri: Mom, zamaana badal gaya hai! Bhai, app kuch kahein na!

Arjun: Gauri, jo ma chahti hain, voh hi ho ga.

Gauri: Par Bhai...

Arjun: Gauri, maine maa se promise kiya tha na. Tu bhi jaanti hai ke mein unke har saath ko kitna maanta hoon. Agar unhe Arohi pasand hai tho kuch tho baath hogi. Jo Ma kehti hain, main usse sehmath hoon.

Gauri: Are you for real?! Dekhte hain ab Arohi kya karti hai.

Arjun: Don't worry...

Mom and I came out listening to the last line Arjun had said...

Savita: Mujhe pata hai yeh achanak hai par

Sudhir: Amrit ne baat kar li hai par ab mujhe karna hai.

Arohi: Kya baat karni hai dad?

Sudhir: Akele mein...

Arohi: Teek hain. Mom app bhi aayen.

They walk in the room again.

Sudhir: Yeh kya ho raha hai, Arohi. Yeh rishte ki baat kahan se aa gayi?

Amrit: apki beti bari ho rahi hai. Itni umer mein rishte aane shuru ho jaate hain.

Sudhir: Is zamane mein tho nahi. Abhi iski poori parhayi baaki hai!

Amrit: Sudhir, rishte ke baat ho rahi hai.. Shaadi ki nahi.

Sudhir: Arohi aur Arjun ke beech mein 6 saal ka fark hai! Aro tho choti hai par Arjun kab tak chota rahe ga? Arohi, tum bhi tho samjho... Kya itni si umar mein tu shaadi karegi?

Amrit: Yeh shaadi ki baat kahan se aayi. Abhi tho..

Arohi: Wait mom. Papa, app galath nahi jain. Apki baat mujhe samajh aa rahi hai, aur mama ki bhi, yahan tak dadi ki bhi. Apko yaad hai, jab di ka seperation hua tha tho maine apko rishton ke bare mein kya kaha tha? Love shove mein tho believe hai nahin par agar hona hoga tho mom ki choice. Jaanti hoon, ap fufa ji nahi hain, par main bohat serious thi. You trust me right? (he nods) And I trust mama. So just trust mama (smiles and leaves).

They walk out along with her.

Gauri thinking: Only uncle and Arohi can save this!

Sudhir--in a huff/threatening voice: Arjun!

Arjun gets startled and looks up (he was looking down): Ji --in a little voice

Sudhir: Tujhe pata hai yeh sab kya ho raha hai. Tumhari dadi kya chahti hai.. Tumhari mummy kya chahti hai!

Arjun: Voh...

Sudhir: Main khatam nahi hua! Don't get me wrong. Main apni beti ke liye acha chahta hoon; akhir baap hoon uska. Amrit ki baat bhi sahi hai aur tumhari dadi ki bhi. Rishta bura nahi hai par is waqt shaadi ka khyal bhi nahi aata mujhe. Phir bhi, I'd like to say... Welcome to the family son.

Everyone is happy and hugging each other..

Arohi: WAIT!!!! Everyone looks towards her.

Arohi: Itne khush kyun ho rahe ho?

Savita: Tumhare dad maan gaye!

Arohi: Tho... Rishta mera aya hai ke dad ka?

Sudhir: Yeh kya baqwaas hai!

Arohi: Yaar mujhe bhi tho poocho ke main kya chahti hoon

Sudhir: Poocha tha. Tune jawaab hi nahi diya.

Shefali: Teek hai Arohi. Tum kya chahti ho.

Arohi: Tu kis haq se pooch rahi hai. Tujhse thodi na rishta jud raha hai.

Gauri: Matlab tu chahti hai bhai propose kare. Ha! Shaadi cancelled!

Shefali rolls her eyes.

Arjun: Fine, I'm in no hurry (jumps on the love seat).

Savita/Amrit: Yeh kya mazaak hai!

Arohi: Mazaak nahi hai. Har ladki ka hak hai ke uski raye bhi poochi jaye

Sudhir: Par ...

Arohi: Daaadd!!!

Arjun: No worriez.. Mujhe kahan kisi ne kuch poocha.. I'm in no hurry; take your time

Arohi: Glad to hear it (jumps right beside him on the love seat taking the ring off and putting it on the coffee table in front of them)!

Hari: Yeh kya laga ke rakha hai tum dono ne. Dadi ka tho socho!

Arjun: Issi liye tho kuch nahi kaha par itne nakhre!

Arohi: Oh puh-leez!

Arjun: So your not gonna relent?

Arohi; Nope.

Arjun: Fine then! (He takes her hand and takes the ring and places in her palm)

We were both looking in each others eyes like we were challenging one another. When he placed the ring in my hand, I couldn't help but look down and slightly blush.

I said while putting the ring on: I accept.

At that moment, he nodded his head and went inside. Everyone was looking everywhere confused. They won't understand. I know this isn't Arjun's ring but its symbolic. It symbolizes respect and protection. After my mind was set on hating Arjun Singhaniya, this ring symbolizes the first time I could respect him for a good person he is and his values. It also represents the way he protected me in school when he slid this on my finger; saving me from having to answer to anybody from my dorm and elsewhere.

Gauri: You accept? Wait, I thought you wanted a proposal...

Arohi: No, you thought I wanted a proposal. I just wanted to be asked my opinion.

Gauri: But bhai didn't ask you...

Arohi: Or did he?

Gauri: Huh?

Arohi: Tum nahi samjhogi Gauri.

Savita: Chal jo bhi hua, ajj se Arohi meri hui.

Amrit: Ji. Ab bas mo meeta kardo tho baat pakki!
