Wow its been over a month. I totally forgot cuz of my stupid assingments and exams. Sorry guys. I wasn't gonna update today either but i got a pm from mIsHeZ.x, so this is dedicated to you! Next morning we wake up and get out for breakfast. While eating we discuss our plans or the anniversary party. Soon, Arjun's bua comes with her family and Rey.

(Arjun and Romit went to get stuff for the party and bua's sons are not important)

Rey: So how do you guys plan on celebrating the 25th.

Gauri: Well, it is a party so we're gonna have fun!

Rey: Sing and dance or the boring eat and leave...

Arohi: Hey Rey, what do you think of my family? We may be traditional, but we know how to have fun, what say guys?

Shefali: All they way Aro! We prepared so much. They'll be singing and dancing and so much Masti!! oh, i mean fun! But what about you?

Rey: What about me? I'll adjust. No worriez, you're here na to keep me company ;) Gauri's eyes shoot open; she can't believe he's flirting with her cousin

Arohi whispers Badtameez, and smacks him on his head...

Shefali: Uffo, chill maar yaar! I don't mind ;)

Arohi: Ya, ya, Romit ya Arjun aayenge na, tab dekhoongi, "I don't mind"!

Rey: What do you mean?

Arohi: Romit is her older brother, and Arjun is her older cousin who treats her like his baby sister.

Rey: Minced meat?

Arohi: That is an understatement, my bro.

Savita: Paratha khaana hai ya bread?

Gauri + Shefali: Bread.Gotta watch weight!

Arohi: naa yaar, i want parathe's! Hostel mein ghar ka khaana kahan naseeb, aur voh bhi garam garam parate, maasi ke haath ke!

Savita: Makhan mat laga, abhi laati hoon.

Bua: Apne dost se bhi pooch le... (mumbles pata nahi kabhi khaaya bhi hoga kabhi! angreez se dosti kar li.. ghar pe bula liya, naak katvaye gi sab ki!)

Arohi ignores her and turns to Rey: Dude!

Rey: Huh? Sorry I was thinking about something...

Arohi: Or someone?? anyways, what do you want with this?

Rey: Parathe! is that even a question. Dad ki wajah se parathe kahan naseeb hain!

Savita: Beta, apko hindi aati hai?

Rey: Thodi bohat... considering main India mein rehta hoon, apni maasi ke paas... Dad oily khaana nahi kha sakte... bohat bemar hain so voh yahan transfer ho gaye ilaaj ke liye.

Savita: Aur tum bhi..

Rey: Nahi aunty, main India mein parta hoon. Yahan ek semester ke liye aaya hoon, unse milne. Arohi whispers, ya bhaagne?

Savita: Acha, main abhi laati hoon parathe.

Gauri: Tum angrez nahi ho?

Rey: No dude. Reyanssh... Reyansh Singhaanya..

Shefali: so tum ek Singhaniya ho?

Rey: Ya but spelling different hai ;)

Arohi: Tu kabhi nahi sudrega?

Rey: (tongue click) no chance!

Arjun: At what?

Shefali: nothing... nothing at all bhai..

Savita: Arjun tu agaya? aa, tu bhi kha...

Arjun: No mom, I'm fine. I don't want to eat.

Savita: But I made the paratha...

Rey: O well, more for me!

Arjun: What is it?

Savita: Your favorite aalo ke parathe.

Arjun: Well, in that case, I guess I can have some

Thinking: Mere hisey ka khaana, yeh khayega? Not on my watch

Arohi Thinking: What's gotten into Arjun. You can almost never change his mind...

Next Scene: Party (Now party is at Singhaniya apartment so not many people-- thats how we usually have parties so that's why I'm basing the setting off of my experience...)

Everyone is talking and joking around with their own group. The bell rings. I go to get it.

Arohi: MAMA!

Its Amrit and gang.

Amrit: Kaise hai tu?

Arjun: Aagaye. Bas apka hi wait ho raha tha.

Amrit: Jeete raho puttar. Arohi ne zyaada tang to nahi kiya tha na.

Arjun: Nahi aunty. It was all good

Arohi: Mama! Not fair.

Rey: Everythings fair in love and war sweetheart! Right Raj

Rey and Raj high-five and Arjun brings in everyone.

We all gather around and I get up to make a speech.

Arohi: Maasa, Maasi. You two are the most amazing couple ever! Truly, you two are my role models. Mera life partner apka carbon copy bhi hoga na, tho main bilkul complain nahi karoongi, because maasa, you really know how to keep a woman happy! (and I sit down)

Rey: Carbon copy...

Arohi: Shut up dude! Kabhi bhi teri baqwaas shuru ho jaati hai!

Khushi: Lets give a round of applause to Arohi for her beautifully emotional speech! Now enough mushy mushy stuff, lets get to some fun. I heard Arohi and her friend Rey and big entertainers in University. Why don't you guys entertain us.

Arohi: Nahi... Main kaise...

Everyone is cheering for me but Arjun doesn't like all this. Wouldn't it be cheating him in a way. I mean.. But then I look towards him and he's encouraging me? I mean he's not saying anything but its clear in his eyes

Rey: Go ahead Ro. Sing something for me.

Arohi: You? And I would do that for you because...

Rey: Tell me the truth. I thought long and hard and I'm confused. I know you want to say something but you're too scared. So tell me in a song...

Savita: Iski baaton mein aane ki koi zaroorat nahi hai. Kuch bhi gaale... Koi kuch nahi kahe ga--hinting at arjun.

I get up and clear my throat.

Rey looks ashamed and walks away... Everyone is quiet.

Arjun's Bua: Kya challenge de ga. Hindi kahan aati hogi usse ke challenge de ga! (bua didn't hear at the table)

Rey gets back. You didn't think I wasn't gonna answer to that did you? Come one dude, not everyone is gifted with a voice like yours. And Bua ji, don't worry, Bollywood ko bollywood mein jawab doonga!

He puts the music on.

O Baby, Don't break My heart. Rey and I acted the song out, leaving everyone speechless!

By the end, I saw Arjun getting up and going into the kitchen.

Shayad kuch zyaada ho gaya... I sneak in behind him.

Arohi: Hi.

Arjun; Hi.

Arohi: Just wanted a cup of water.

Arjun; I guess I'll get out of your way then.

Arohi: Wait.

Arjun; Yeah?

Arohi: Um... Are you upset?

Arjun: About?

Arohi: I know you don't approve of singing and dancing and I wasn't going to but I thought it would be okay. I don't know why I felt like you were telling me to... I know I shouldn't have but.

Arjun; Shhh!! Relax Arohi! I honestly just came to get a cup of water. It is getting really crowded out there. I know I don't like it but I don't want you to change for me. Do what you like to do.

Just do me a favor and don't mess.

Arohi: What do you mean?

Arjun: I know I shouldn't ask but I have to...

Are you and Rey...

Arohi: What! Rey! I don't understand

Arjun: Look Arohi, apparently you are very special to my mom and she sees some sort of future for us but if you like him, then I'll explain it to mom.

Arohi: Arjun... Ajj keh diya.. Dobara mat kehna! Rey is my BEST friend and that is it! I know this relationship, if thats what you can call it, is complicated but I'm trying. And trust me, if I have any second thoughts you're the first to know!

We give each other a reassuring smile and walk out of the kitchen surprised to see what we found. Arjun's dadi is clutching her heart while Everyone is in their own world not paying attention.

Arohi; DADI! Arjun, call the ambulance.

Arjun: We don't have much time. Go get the wheelchair; we'll take her to the ER (it's right there next to the building)

Someone brings the chair and Arjun and I run her to the ER while Rey stays back calming everyone down.

Its around 11pm (2 hours passed) when maasa calls up Arjun's cell. He left it on the table when he went to the washroom so Arohi picks it up.

Arohi: Maasa app?

Hari: Haan, tum log ne phone nahi kiya.

Arohi: Last call ke baad koi improvement hi nahi hai.

Nurse comes and Arjun goes to talk.

Arjun; Dad, Nurse said we can see her but only two people at a time. You guys don't worry. We'll see and call back.

Arjun and Arohi leave shutting the cell.

Arjun rushes to see his dadi: Dadi, dara diya na sabko!

Dadi: Ab zyaada waqt nahi hai na.

Arohi: App aise kyun keh rahi hain

Dadi: Sab jaanti hoon main. Dil bohat kamzoor ho raha hai!

Arjun; App tho sab se zyaada taqat wali hain. Kamzoor kahan se lagti ho?

Dadi: Tu dadi ki baat manega na.

Arjun; Kabhi mana kiya hai?

Dadi: Dadi ki akhri khwahish poori kar le

Arohi: Arjun baat nahi maan na! Akhri khwahish ka matlab?

Dadi: Oye tu chup kar. Main apne pote se baat kar rahi hoon na

Arjun: Aur abhi waqt nahi hai!

Dadi: Teek hai (and turns her face--indicating she's mad)

Arohi: Arrey dadi, aise tho nahi karte na. Teek hai teek hai. Arjun apki baat maaney ga. Aur nahin maana tho main mana loongi.

Dadi: Pakka?

Arohi: Bilkul pakka.

Dadi: Puttar... Mera paas kitna waqt hai yeh tho kisi ko bhi nahi pata. Pata hai tho bas yehi ke tere dadaji ki bohat yaad aati hai! Bohat pyaar karte teh sab se. Aur unke liye par hayi sabse zyaada maayne rakti thi. Isi liye tujhe doctor banaya maine. Lekin in sab mein tujhe apni zindagi jeene ka mauka hi nahi mili. Ab main chahti hoon ke tu jeeya aur apni yeh khushi kisi se baant.

Arjun: Kaisi baat kar rahi hain aap? Ap ke dreams poora karna mera farz tha aur shauk bhi. Doctor ka sapna ap sab ne dikhaya par yehi sapna mera bhi tha. Bachpan mein Raj ko dekh kar mujhe hamesha khushi mili ke voh kitna active banda hai. Kitni hurdles hain uski life main lekin voh khushi khushi apni life jee raha hai. Dad na hamesha hum sab se pyaar kiya par dard mein voh koi aur hi ban jaate teh; par unki aankhon mein humesha afsoos tha ke voh aisa kyun kar rah hain. Yeh zindagi joh ap sab ne di hai, voh meri hi hai. Aur mein is mein khush hoon. App sab hain na baant ne ke liye.

Dadi: Nahi Arjun. Yeh khushi humesha adoori rahegi, jab tak voh nahi ayegi.

Arjun: Yaar yeh VOH kaun hai??

Dadi: Voh, jo teri ammi chunegi. Tera saath dene wali.

At that moment, a nurse arrived. Good thing because Arjun had nothing to say. I kept admiring dadi and arjun but when that "voh" was brought up, I didn't know how to react. Do I feel jealous? No, I am "voh" but dadi doesn't know. Or am I "voh" because it's not really official. Well, anyways Dadi kicked both of us out and sent us home. It was the most awkward walk back (5 seconds seemed like 5 hours)!

Arjun: Well, this is ridiculous.

Arohi:...

Arjun: Well, you said to tell you if there's any rush.

Arohi: Don't make this more awkward than it is

We got home and Masa started questioning us about his mother.

Arjun: Dadi is fine. She only lost it and sent us home.

Masa: What does that mean!

Arohi: Arjun! She's your dadi!

Arjun: Well, that explains it. Her old age has gotten to her head!

Arohi: I can't believe a doctor is talking like this.

Arjun: A doctor In making! Don't make me older than I already am.

Arohi: I wonder how old that really is.. Maybe instead of Dadi, it's you whose really losing it!

Amrit: Arohi! Bada hai voh. Tameez nahi hai!

Arohi: Par voh jo apni dadi ke bare mein keh raha hai!

Savita: BAS! Koi mujhe batayega hospital mein kya hua! Tum dono kyun ghar aagaye unhe akele chod ke?

Arjun: Dadi ka order.

Savita: Abhi tho keh rahe the she lost it. Aur unhe akela chod diya!

Arohi snickers: I'm telling you maasi, its Arjun whose truly lost it!

Arjun gives a stern look and Arohi backs off.

Arjun: She's talking about her last days and how she is really starting to miss Dadaji.

Savita: Unki umer ho gayi hai beta. And she's sick. Is waqt apne partner ki bohat yaad aati hai. Tum nahi samjo ge. Tumhari shaadi nahi hui na.

Arjun: Exactly what she was pointing at.

Savita: Kya! Maa ji ne tumhari shaadi ki baat chehri?

Arjun miffed.

Arohi: Jee Maasi. Bohat emotional ho gayi thi. Unhe laga ke Arjun ka poora bachpan cheen liya unho ne. Aur ab voh chahti hai ke usse khushi miley.

Arjun: What a stupid conclusion!

Savita: Beta, kisi ka naam liya unho ne?

Arohi: a lil hesitant: Joh app chunengi...

Savita: Sach?(a big smile on her face)

Arjun; Mom, I'm not in the mood. I'm going to bed!

Arohi: Yo, that's my room till I'm here!

Savita mumbles: and perhaps longer... (nobody hears her)

Arjun: Fine, party's over. Now go to sleep. Dad we'll go tomorrow morning and hopefully she should be getting discharged by then.

Everyone disperses into their respective rooms. Everyone left the party long before Arjun and Arohi came back. Rey went back downstairs. Also, Arohi's mom and brothers came after Dadi and the brothers were already asleep.
