It was 8 am and everyone was still sleeping. I decided to get up and make myself a cup of coffee. As I was making it, I bumped into someone--Arjun.

Arjun; Sorry. I figured I'd make myself some coffee since everyone was asleep.

Arohi; Same here.

Silence...

Arjun: What was all that yesterday?

Arohi: I can ask the same thing! Arjun, she's your grandmother. You have no idea how lucky you are! Main bohat choti thi jab meri dadi guzar gayi. You have no idea how close I was with her. Dadi ko dekh kar mujhe apni DJ yaad aati hai; and the way you spoke about her... Look, I don't care if you get married or don't or whatever the hell your decision is but unki respect karo aur unhe pyar do.

Arjun: I know I wasn't right. I'm just sick of this. First mom..now dadi. I can never say no to either. I mean mom told me to think about it and that was fine but dadi's asking for the real deal!

Arohi: Ek na ek din tho honi hai na Arjun?

Arjun: Are you forgetting you're mom's choice.

Arohi: How can I forget with her reminding me each step of the way? I'm not worried because I told you before: it's up to my parents.

Arjun; And if you're parents say yes?

Arohi: Hmm... I guess I haven't thought so far in advance... I like to take life one step at a time (smile) Ab chalo, before someone comes and gets stupid ideas!

Now it was 11am but nobody said anything about last night. Mausa, Maasi, and Mom went to see dadi and just returned. Dadi had to stay one more night and she asked to leave her alone.

In room: Mausa, Maasi, mom, dad, rajveer, romit, love (his fiance and my best friend), salil, gauri, shefali, rey, arjun, and me (arohi)

Gauri: Dadi kaisi hain?

Savita: Aur test ho rahe hain. Kal tak aa jayengi. She asked us to talk to Arjun about yesterday. She wouldn't straight out tell us but I think...

Gauri: About what?

Arjun; Mom, must we?

Savita: Arjun tu jaanta hai na ke dadi ke liye yeh zaroori hai. Unki tabeeyat mein thoda asar aaye tho kya hoye ga?!

Arjun: Par

Savita: Shaadi nahi tho sagai tho kar sak hain na?

Gauri: Sagai? Shaadi? What is going on Bhai!

Sagai, I thought. I had fun teasing Arjun but I wasn't serious. I mean I am too young for this!

Savita: Tu itni hairan kyun hai Gauri. Uski umer ho gayi hai. He's not growing any younger!

But what about me I screamed in my head. Unless Masi has someone else in mind... Then I guess that wouldn't be a problem...

Savita; Teri dadi chahti hai ke ab tere bhai ki shaadi ho jaye aur meri pasand se.

Gauri: So you have someone in mind... Does dadi know?

Savita: Yes I have someone in mind and no dadi does not know. (gauri is miffed)

Shefali: So who is it

Gauri: Wait! Don't I get a say in this? After all he is MY BHAI!

Savita: Tere bhai ne tho yeh zimadari mujhe kab ka de diya tha. Kehta tha jab main tayyar hoonga tho khudi bata doon ga. Par ab apni dadi ke khatir.. Hai na?

Arjun; Ji mom. Gauri don't worry. I trust mom completely.

Shefali; Ab tho batao kaun hai yeh ladki?

Savita: Acha acha... Sab behet jao. Bohad jald pata chal jaye ga.

Everyone sits on the sofa and Maasi goes to mom.

Savita: Ammu, tujhe yaad hai bachpan mein hum dono sochti thi ke humara koi rishta hota tho kitna maza aata. Behen na sahi, samdi tho ban sakte hain na?

Mom's eyes open wide and is speechless.

Amrit: Baji... Yeh app kya...(looks at sudhir both completely speechless)

Savita: Haan Ammu. Mujhe tho bachpan se Arohi pasand hai... Aur ab tho maaji (dadi) ne ijaazat de di hai tho...

Amrit: Haan..voh..nahi..voh...

She lets go of her hands and walks to Arohi and takes her into a room.

Amrit; Arohi... Main tere bigair koi faisla nahi loongi.. Tu tho jaanti hai ke mujhe Arjun kitna changa lagda hai... Par yeh teri zindagi hai.. Jandiyan ke tu parhai kar rahi hai... Main bhi sirf sagai ke maan rahi hoon... Ab sab tere upar hai...

Arohi: Maa, tu kyun ro rahi hai? Tu tho jaanti hai mujhe yeh pyar vyar ke chakkar mein nahi padna. Shaadi and all... Yeh tho teri zimidari hai na? Jo tu chahti hai.. Vohi hoga. Vaada!

Amrit: Tho is rishte ko haan kar doon?

Arohi: Jaise tei marzi...

Amrit: Par tere papaji.

Arohi; Maa.. Tu yehi chahti hai? (nods yes) Tho main papaji e kahoongi ke yeh rishte ke liye MAINE haan ki.. No pressure was added cuz honestly, it wasn't.

Amrit: Tu is dunya is sabse achi beti ho...

Arohi: Aur tu sabse achi ma!

At the same time outside... (for next time)

i know its a short part but i have finals examinations coming up so i will be busy for two-three weeks so thought i'd give at least one part...
