CHAPTER 7
Meher was busy packing. The next day she would be leaving for Melbourne. She was happy, sad, excited, nervous all at a time...When she was busy in taking out her clothes from the cupboard, Teji and Balraaj came...
Balraaj: Meher puttar!
Meher: *Turning back* Papaji? Maa? When did you come?
Teji: Just now..Let me help you with your packing..
Meher: No maa, I can do it and don't try to spoil me on the last moment..*Being bit emotional*
Teji: Oh, my kid...What will your papaji and I will do in the house now..Heer is already in Canada and now you are also leaving...*upset and emotional*
Balraaj: Oho Teji, don't make it more difficult for our daughter..She is going there to achieve great heights and I know she will shine the name of our family...

Meher: Don't worry maa, your daughter won't ever do such thing which can make her parents feel embarassed...*smiles to assure Teji*
Teji: And this first week when you will have to live with Preet in the same flat..You...
Balraaj: *Interrupts Teji* Uffo! Don't stress my daughter too much now..She knows how to handle situations, right puttar?
Meher: Yes Papaji..Maa don't take so much tension...Your BP will go high...
Meher hugs her Maa and her Papaji joins them in the hug...

Preet was busy in his last moment packings too..Prem joined him..
Preet: PB? Ah let it be..
Prem: What hmm? Can't I help? You have grown up too much?
Preet: No no PB! I was just thinking I should get used to do everything by my own..Who will help me there..Oh well, I forgot about Meher I guess, then help me help me..Haha..
Prem: Meher's bestfriend, do you realise that she will be alone there too? Help her instead of giving burden on her *Pulling Preet's ear*
Preet: Ahhh PB! It is hurting...
Prem: Ah PB it is hurting *mimicking Preet*..Preet, I know my younger brother is much responsible from inside and I trust you fully..See, I have convinced everyone for Meher to stay in the same building, it is a very big responsibility and I am handling that to you...
Preet: Don't you worry PB. Meher will be my responsibility and I won't do anything that will be against the honour of our family...Besides Chandni just gave me a threat this evening that Meher is his daughter and I better behave..Haha!
Prem: Haha bauji will surely cut you into pieces beta!
Heer: Brothers seem to be in a very jolly mood, hmm? *smiles*
Preet: Arey, Heer bhabi is also here...
Heer: Packing done? I just talked to Meher, she is almost done too..Her flight will reach Melbourne after two hours than your one..
Prem: Yeah Preet..I guess you already know that...
Preet: Yes PB..I called Meher last night so I know...And Heer bhabi, I just wanted to let you know that, Meher will be all fine n safe in Australia..The responsibility is mine...
Heer: I know Preet, I have no tension for Meher as you will be there with her and moreover Kul di, Kiran jeeju will also be there na...You just take care of yourself too...*Patted Preet's cheeck*
Preet: Hmm, that I will but when I will be back I want some dozens of niece-nephews running around me too, okay PB and bhabi?
Heer blushed heavily on Preet's words and Prem started chasing Preet..Heer smiled and admired the bond of the two brothers...
The Next Day, MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA
Preet just realised that he had fallen asleep while waiting for Meher sitiing on the couch in Airport..He yawned and looked over here and there..He then checked the time, it was time for Meher's flight landing..He started walking towards the coffee shop so that his sleepy eyes would get some energy and he could recieve Meher in a joyous mood...
Finally Meher arrived...Meher was so happy to see Preet..They both were very tired that they started for their apartment building as soon as possible...It was almost 7 PM and the plan was to get home, take shower, have some dinner and then a long awaited nap...In all these the two youngsters did not forget to let their parents know that they both had reached safely and was on their way to the apartment building...
Meher enjoyed the view of the roads too much..For Preet it was nothing new as he had been to many places in the world and in Melbourne it was his 4th time...But for Meher it was the first time that she had come out of Ambala and it was not Delhi, not even India...All the way Meher was looking over everything with amazement in her eyes and Preet was describing about the places to her...They reached their apartment building and took the lift to the 15th floor, it was where Preet's flat was..
Meher: Preet, my flat is also on the 15th floor?
Preet: Oh no, your one is on the 16th..For this week, you just have to adjust with this idiot sadly..
Meher: Hahaha no it will be just alright...Hey, I guess we are on the 15th floor..
Preet: *coming out of the elevator* Yeah, lets go inside...
Stepping inside, Meher started looking all over the flat...It was so beautiful and the night view from all the windows in the flat were more than amazing..Meher was lost in the view from the drawing room window when Preet's voice took her back to the reality..
Preet: Meher, I am going to take my shower now...I have kept your luggages into the another bedroom...We have two bedrooms in each flat as you can see in my one, same goes for your one too..
Meher: Hmm, I was so lost in the view..This is so mesmerising Preet...I think I am going to love staying here...
Preet: Sounds better! I think you should unpack and take shower too..
Meher: Ah, yeah I will unpack but a very little, you know I have to shift after one week as well...
Preet: Hmm that is right though..Okay so go and take a shower..Meanwhile I will take the shower and order some pizza ...
Meher: Why pizza? Let me make you some home made food..I bet you are missing it after the food of the flight..
Preet: Haha, not that much..We just arrived here Meher..You should take some rest today..From tomorrow we will see what we can do..But for now pizza is totally fine..Oh wait, you are okay with pizza na?
Meher: Yeah, Maya always used to take me to a pizza corner near her house in Delhi whenever I visited them...
Preet: That is nice..Well, lets meet after the shower then...I have to unpack too...
Meher: Yeah but for now just take out the emergency stuffs, I will help you tomorrow in unpacking and settling down everything, don't worry...
Preet: Oh Meher, do you know you are a gem? *Pulling Meher's cheecks*
Meher: Preet, you drama king! *laughs*
Meher and Preet were having a good time eating pizza, suddenly Preet stopped eating and was only looking at his pizza slice without taking any bite..Meher noticed it...
Meher: What happened Preet? Is everything fine?
Preet: Umm yeah Meher, it is actually like..Umm, I miss PB, maa and everyone at home..At this time in Toronto, we generally take dinner together on the dining table and Maa feeds me sometimes...I just realised for the next 4 years, I won't be able to have all those moments daily..*sad, innocent face*
Meher: *Holding Preet's shoulder* Preet, I know saying this is like nothing enough but I will try my best to be your little family here..
Preet: *putting his hand on Meher's which was on his shoulder* Thank you Meher..
Meher: Did you just thank me Mr. Preet Juneja? I thought I was your family..You yourself said that once in Ambala while making the sleepover video remember?
Preet: Oh haha, sorry! Oh wait I think as we are also friends I can't say sorry too then?
They both laughed out..
Meher: Emm Preet, can I feed you? Like if you don't mind...I mean you were missing Gayatri chachi feeding you and as no one is here rather than me so I thought..
Preet: Meher, Meher, Meher chill..Come on, why are you giving explanations? Is this even a question to ask? Why would I mind? It feels actually sl great to have a friend like you...Now, aaa *opening his mouth* give me one bite...
Meher fed Preet very happily...What made Preet feel so touched was how Meher was trying to cheer him up and at the same time how innocent she was...Preet could not help but to smile for no reason looking at Meher when she was feeding him..After they finished their dinner..Meher brought a glass of water for Preet as he forgot to drink after dinner...She noticed Preet was watching some wedding videos on his laptop sitting on the sofa of the drawring room...
Meher: Preet your glass of water, you forgot to drink it...By the way what are you watching?
Preet: *Taking the glass from Meher* Damn, I forgot..And oh Meher, I was about to call you..These are PB and Heer Bhabi's wedding videos..I brought these for you...We will watch these tomorrow okay?
Meher: Whaaat?! *Screams in happiness* Preet, not tomorrow..Please today na? Lets watch now...
Preet: Meher, aren't you tired?
Meher: Umm no, after knowing about the videos not at all..Hey wait, I forgot you must be tired, we will watch it tomorrow..
Preet: Meher, you are missing home and family, aren't you?
Meher: Umm, no..Umm yeah..Actually Preet I have never been this far away from them...*looks down being bit emotional*
Preet: Hey hey hey, no no I can't let you be sad when you are with Preet Juneja..
Preet lifted her chin and was about to hug her when he stopped just like he stopped at the first time in Ambala..But this time he looked more awkward..Meher closed her eyes to hold her tears and laughed a bit..Then she herself hugged Preet..Preet at first did not understand how to react on it and then he hugged her back too...

Before Preet could reply his cell phone rang..He broke the hug and went to his bedroom to take the call as his phone was there..On the other hand Meher realised that they were hugging each other all the while and she did not know why but she blushed thinking about it..Meher was trying to find out the reason why she was blushing when Preet almost came running to Meher and hugged her again being too much happy...
Meher: What happened Preet? You seem to be very excited and happy..*Being happy too*
Preet: Yes, my besties are coming over tomorrow night for the weekend..
Meher: Besties?
Preet: Remember I told you about my two friends with whom I have grown up all these years? The both duffers are studying medical science, that too in Sydney...Their classes have started last week..We all wanted to study in Australia but however the medical college in Sydney was better and for me Marquis university here..So you know...I am so glad you will be meeting them too now..
Meher: Oh yeah you told me about them in Ambala..I am excited to meet them too...
Preet: Yaay! Meher I think we should go to sleep now...Good night...See you in the morning!
Preet took his laptop and went towards his room almost in a dancing way...'Ashlesha and Viren must be a very important and beautiful part of Preet's life', Meher thought to herself and smiled...
