Or at least it wouldnt have been as fun as meets relationship or as passionate as premeers.

really? They must've planned to do that after Prem died...that reminds me of one of Balaji's oldest soaps, Ghar Ek Mandir...it happened there, then of course Kumkum aped that, I'm glad it didn't happen because a- as much as I love Preet I don't think I would've wanted to see him with Heer 😕 b- Prem was Prem 😳 I mean although the soap was called kis des mein hai mera dil and it would've made a lot of sense if Heer had just gone round looking for her dil 😆 but Prem was such an adorable character that he completely took over 😳 so I totally agree with you

by the way, someone told me that Ekta wanted Harshad to play Arjun in kitani mohabbat hai which was why they decided to kill Prem but of course everyone wanted him back so they just got another guy to play Arjun...any idea how true it is? 😕

Just wanted to add my two cents to the conversation about Preet...

I too wouldn't have been able to see Heer and Preet. As much I love Preet's character and he did mature after Prem's death...I just couldn't see him with Heer. Their brother-in-law and sister-in-law relationship was too strong to turn to something else.

I'm so happy that Harshad was able to come back as Prem. And in the end I think it might have been fate because if Prem's character hadn't come back we wouldn't have gotten Sushant for Pavitra Rishta. Sometimes fate is a funny thing.

Yes, but if Prem-Heer were the soul of Kis Desh, Preet was the backbone and if someone's backbone is MIA {not functioning} they're crippled. I'm happy for Sushant but the day they took him for PR was the day Desh starting going downhill 😒

I agree that when Preet died Kis Desh went downhill, but I really think that half of that fault was the way the CVs handled the whole situation with Meher marrying the half-cousin? (can't remember how he was related to the Junejas) who killed Preet and having Bauji, Heer, and Prem acting stupid with the whole wedding thing. I think at least for me it would have been a little more manageable if they hadn't gotten Meher re-married. There was so many other ways the storyline could have gone. It was first time in a long time I actually agreed with Gayatri when she left the house.

I'm re-watching Kis Desh with subs and every time I see Preet I smile 😃...missed him so and of course Prem and his romantic staring ways 😳

But I think I've digressed enough...lol...

Waiting for the next chapter! Can't wait to see what happens next.

Actually, Desh took the hit long before Preet died. I was referring to when he started missing all of a sudden. It really didn't make any sense in terms of the story you know. Desh was not your typical love story, the family angle was a major part of it and Preet like I said was the backbone of the family.

Things went haywire for me when Veera died and bauji knowing the truth about her abortion kept mum, that was completely beyond me! And no matter how irrationally Gayatri acted...you really can't blame her can you? Everyone thought Veera was a victim, you just can't expect them to believe Heer, that's asking for a lot. Bauji, although he was a complete sweetheart had been the major idiot all along for me, first, the girl Prem chose for himself didn't matter...Heer was a fallen girl for him. Then, he sees that godforsaken locket and realises she's Balraj's daughter and all of a sudden, Prem's girl becomes important. He didn't accept Heer the girl Prem chose for himself, he accepted Balraj's daughter Heer...everything had to do with his damn pledge! 👎🏼 Anyway, later, he just acted dumb and didn't say anything when Nihaal went to jail...poor chap had been thrown in for 6 years they said, but they just forgot him post leap 😕

Anyway, thanks to bauji's idiocy, Gayatri turned into the monster-in-law and that was a blow cos inspite of her being a stepmom, Gayatri's character was lovable and formed the essence of Desh. Then, coming back to our original discussion...Preet went MIA, the TRPs kept falling so they gave it the afternoon slot, which was a fatal blow.

I'm told the cousin {Viren} was supposed to be an out and out positive character, but they had to change the story and make him the bad guy because the show was given the final notice 😒 there's no way we would've loved him as much as we loved Preet, but we were starting to adore him...

Sushant's absence gave the creative heads a major problem but you're right, the whole thing boils down to destructive {that's what I call these ''creatives'' 😛} inability.

I've written the next part, but don't seem to like it very much...making some changes, it will be up soon 😊

Chapter 7- Incomprehensible Attraction

Why is it that a certain person has the power to rock your world? You don't even know them, you most certainly don't love them but a commitment that's primarily been made by others makes an unknown person the gist of your life. It was all very alien to Heer and Prem, a couple of months ago both of them were well settled and secure in the small world they'd created for themselves…but now, their world wasn't just their's…they had to create a symphony with someone they hadn't known till date.

Prem had been thinking about what Milind said and wondered why he'd never needed a 'partner'…he wanted to get married, settle down and have kids who'd carry his name…but he'd never thought about the person who would actually bear his seed…give birth to his flesh and blood…why had he always wanted the perfect daughter in law for his family? His parents had never been insecure, they'd never tried to keep him under their wings, why was it then that he always put his family first? Why did he only think about them? He didn't have an answer! He just knew he loved them a lot and any girl would have to win their hearts to share his life.

Now that he'd called Preet and asked for Heer who'd been sitting next to him, he didn't even know what to say. He'd just asked for her, he'd done that without thinking and now had to make small talk with this girl he didn't know! But why the hell was he nervous? Was it because her voice like her face and petite figure was perfect? Or was it because he didn't know her at all? Or was it because he knew Preet was sitting next to her and probably listening to every word he was going to say…he just didn't know! Prem came out of his thoughts when he heard her say 'hello'

Heer- hello?...hello? {she passed the phone to Preet when she didn't get a response}

Preet- hey PB, can't you hear her?

Prem was shaken out of his thoughts and deliberately paused before saying- hello? Hello?

Preet- hey can you hear me PB?

Prem- yeah, I hear you now…must've been some disturbance

Preet smiled slyly- oh really? I'll just pass it back to her

Heer took the phone as she saw Preet leave, thank heavens for that, she thought- at least he won't see her blush- hello?

A deep masculine voice that tingled her insides answered- hello Heer…

OMG…first he has to look amazingly handsome, now he sounds so sexy…and my name never did sound better, she quickly gathered herself and answered- hello Prem

His name was musical! And he never knew it! Prem Juneja didn't know the sound of his name could turn him on, he gulped before speaking- how are you?

Heer cautiously answered, the sound of his voice was making her giddy- I'm okay, how are you?

Prem wanted to say that he was in agony, his insides were hurting but he liked it that way, that he felt crazy, he wanted her…right now…if it was possible to do the deed over the phone he would've done it without giving a damn about him not being married to her yet, still all he said was- I'm fine, how's everyone back home?

Heer looked at the people around her, happily eating, chatting and smiled- they're all very happy

Prem- and what about you?

He caught her off guard- what about me?

Prem- are you happy? {he didn't know why he'd asked that, he didn't care, he'd heard the important bit, his family was there and they were happy}

Heer was surprised, why did he care? Of course they were getting married, but it wasn't like they knew each other, but she replied anyway- I'm happy…

And she was interrupted with an- OHOOO!!

Preet had gathered everyone, Kuldi, Harman, Veera, Nihaal bhaiyya and Meher and told them Heer was talking to Prem

Prem was taken aback when he heard the noise in the background and said- what was that?

Veera had snatched the phone from Heer and said- that, was US…bhabhi is happy haan, what did you do to make her happy?

Meher snatched the phone- were you guys talking about where you'd go for your honeymoon?

Kuldi- or did you just tell her what you were going to give her on your first night together?

Harman- or did you just say I love you and she's happy to hear that?

Prem rolled his eyes, he wasn't used to that! So he made up an excuse- guys, I was just about to hang up, I have a dinner with corporate…I'd actually called to tell Preet I got the music book he wanted

Veera- really bhaiyya? Is that it?

Prem- yep

Veera- you don't want to say bye to Heer bhabhi?

Prem- err, sure, tell her I said bye and goodnight

Veera- ooooo

Prem was getting irritated now so he said- I really need to go, bye Veera

And that's it…thought Prem, end of our very first and very charming conversation! Grrreeeaaattt! But what had she done to him? Prem couldn't stop thinking how good she sounded…sweet, magical, musical…this was insane! He should be going for dinner…and he straightened his tie, put on his suit jacket and went out for a boring business dinner.

Heer on the other hand was in an extremely difficult situation, she hadn't talked to him for 5 minutes and he'd messed up her brain and now these monsters had ganged up on her and were mercilessly teasing her. She was glad when the evening officially came to an end and the Junejas went home. She quickly went to her room saying she was tired and had to pick up Maya from the airport the following day so needed her sleep.

Once in her room, Heer changed into her PJs and frowned as she thought of what Meher had said earlier that morning…the PJs would have to go after she got married…Meher and Veera were designing a couple of silk nightdresses for her…there was no way in hell Heer would wear them! She loved her cotton PJs! Too bad if Mr. Juneja wouldn't like them! She knew it was useless to check her work mail as it was the weekend so she decided to read a book, but she soon got bored and decided to login to Facebook. She saw some photos on her homepage, the caption said Prem Juneja has been tagged in the album 'Dulha Mil Gaya…muahahahaha' she was intrigued and she clicked on them.

Prem was in a restaurant wearing a charcoal grey suit, white shirt and a grey, black and white striped tie. With him was a man with unruly hair wearing a khaki suit and an open necked shirt…he was probably close to Prem, Heer saw that there were 5 photos in all and the description said 'will be adding more soon, I can't believe Einstein's getting married!' She soon got a message in her inbox…surprise, surprise…it was from Prem…she was mad at herself…why did her throat go dry? Why was she nervous again? Heer read the message:

I was wondering if we could chat, do you use Skype?

Heer thought that she should just ignore the message and reply the following morning saying she'd slept…but something inside told her she wanted to talk to him to so she replied in the affirmative and gave him her ID quickly logging in to Skype where she got an add request in less than a minute, Heer accepted and soon there was a message from him

Prem Juneja- hi, hope it's not too late for you?

Heer Maan- no it isn't, how was dinner with corporate?

Prem Juneja- you want the truth? It was boring

Heer raised an eyebrow at that, business dinners gave her instant energy then replied- I'm sorry to hear that

Prem Juneja- how did your evening go?

Heer couldn't be honest with him, she'd had dinner with his family so she said- it was okay

Prem Juneja- okay meaning could've been better?

Heer Maan- no, it was nice actually

Prem Juneja- I'm sorry I missed it, I would've liked to meet you but it's really important that I stay the week in Dubai and get my job description and the paperwork in order

Heer Maan- I can understand, are you enjoying your stay there?

Prem Juneja- yes, it's great…the company's picking the tab so I can't complain {and then, he didn't know why…but he wrote} Heer, are you okay with the wedding?

Heer Maan- why do you ask?

Prem Juneja- you don't exactly know me

Heer Maan- you don't know me either, are you okay with the wedding?

Prem Juneja- well, I'm a simple guy, so it doesn't really matter, I'm not in love with anyone so I'd asked ma to pick a girl

Heer instantly thought of Sanjana Khanna, his friend from Facebook- you aren't?

Prem Juneja- you think otherwise?

Heer knew she'd messed up, she couldn't really say a random girl on his friend list was his girlfriend…that wasn't done, but she also couldn't say she had that feeling from the Sanjana girl, women had pretty good sixth sense but all she wrote was- no, just wondering

Prem Juneja- if you say so...what about you?

Heer Maan- I wouldn't have said yes if there would've been someone

Prem thought she was quite frank, that was something he liked in a girl he replied- we can get to know each other

Heer Maan- of course we can

Prem Juneja- I want you to know that you can ask me anything, tell me anything

Heer Maan- thank you, so can you

Prem Juneja- really? I'll take you up on that, what do you like about London?

Heer Maan- everything! Why? You don't like it?

Prem Juneja- not really, it's humid…cold, grey…rains a lot…you can't take your car everywhere and the underground is a mess! There's so many people there

Heer Maan- but I love the transport system there, the rains are a blessing and the crowds give me a sense of security

Prem Juneja- the roads are too narrow!

Heer Maan- they were built centuries ago! I love the old buildings!

Prem Juneja- it's very in your face!

Heer Maan- no, it's very regal!

Prem Juneja- the taxes are too high!

Heer Maan- the social security system is the best in the world!

Prem Juneja- the houses are too small!

Heer Maan- labour doesn't come cheap, people don't have servants so it's easier to maintain small houses

Prem Juneja- doesn't mean they should be crammed together!

Heer Maan- most of them are a 100 years old at least, that's how they were built back then

Prem Juneja- what about pastimes? TV?

Heer Maan- Eastenders!

Prem Juneja- no way! That has been on air forever!

Heer Maan- 25 years! And it's still awesome!

Prem Juneja- Dr. House!

Heer Maan- is an idiot!

Prem Juneja- no way! He's so cool! Anyway, what about movies?

Heer Maan- DDLJ & Gone with the Wind

Prem Juneja- Anand & The Matrix

Heer Maan- cuisine?

Prem Juneja- Indian or sushi if it's Japanese

Heer wanted to puke, she hated sushi and she typed- Chinese & Thai! Drinks?

Prem Juneja- whisky

Heer couldn't help but think, whisky was for labourers!- red wine

Prem thinks, red wine? Eww, way too sweet! Way too boring, he typed- tequila?

Heer Maan- martini!

Prem thought, you'd have to pay me to drink martini! He typed- dine in or out?

Heer Maan- out, you?

Prem Juneja- in, where?

Heer Maan- somewhere the ambience is nice, a proper three course meal, good wine

Prem Juneja- can you cook?

Heer Maan- instant noodles, you?

Prem, wow, this'll be fun! Ma thinks she'll be a good DIL? She can't even cook! He had a smug smile when he typed- everything from lasagna to butter chicken

Heer thought, wow, bawarchi! She typed- what side of the bed?

Prem Juneja- left

Heer Maan- no way! That's mine!

Prem rolled his eyes and typed- cricket?

Heer Maan- tennis!

Prem was used to easier situations…he didn't have a single thing in common with this girl! Except the fact that they both liked to sleep on the left side of the bed, that was bad! Both of them couldn't sleep on the same side…one would have to compromise! And he certainly wasn't going to that person.

Heer was irritated to the core. The guy was a Martian! Did he do anything right? He ate sushi and drank tequilas and whisky! Whisky was for labourers and crazy undergrads drank tequilas in dingy bars! Sophisticated people appreciated good wines and who didn't have Chinese as a favorite? But that wasn't why she was irritated. She was irritated because his profile picture on Facebook kept distracting her. She was wildly attracted…she wished he'd put in a shirtless picture there because she wanted to see what was inside that tight fitting T-shirt, she hated the thought but the shirt on his well toned body was giving her ideas.

Prem couldn't stop thinking how pretty she was, he wanted her like he'd wanted no other girl and he didn't know why…the girl was messing his brain! They'd didn't agree on a single thing and hey, this was their first conversation! How were ever going to spend the rest of their lives together? When he'd asked ma to pick a girl for him he'd known Gayatri would find someone who'd fit well into the family and adapt to his lifestyle…he didn't want this instant noodle eating, red wine drinking corporate exec as his wife but he most certainly wanted her in his bed. Damn you PJ! Why are your heart and brain combating over a girl? She's just a girl! Ah, I probably need some sleep, he thought…I've been working too hard since I got here, he decided to wrap up their conversation.

Prem- hey, Sunday's a working day here and I have an early meeting tomorrow, so I should get going. It was nice talking to you {(not!) he thought}

Heer thought, I'm afraid I can't say the same, but she typed- same goes, goodnight

Prem- goodnight

And they signed out almost simultaneously. As they went to bed that night, they couldn't stop wondering about the incomprehensible attraction they were experiencing…was it just hormones or was there more to it?

Great update! Loved it...haha...absolute opposites so far at least...but the physical attraction is definitely there...that's at least something to start with...hopefully things will get deeper instead of this surface stuff.

And the added note to the previous convo about Kis Desh...you're right the serial was already going through a slow descend with the whole Veera and Nihaal thing...ugh...hate the CVs for that.
