Recap:
For a second his heart stopped. Accident? His mom was about to have an accident? And this girl saved his mom by sacrificing her own life?
Prem stared at the sweet girl. He felt his heart thank her for doing him such a huge favor. His Maa was his life. And this girl had saved his life. No wonder he had fallen for her at first sight.
"Kaise baatein karahi hai aap. Mai app ke liye inta bhi nahi karungi?" Heer said as she wiped away Kulraj's tears.
As they both composed themselves, Kulraj smiled at Heer.
"Tujhe pata hai, maine tujhe kitna dhooda tha? Kaha reh rahi thi aab tak beta?" Kulraj asked her while stroking her hair.
"Mai Anarth Ashram me thi" Heer said softly. But she wasn't ashamed of herself.
"Kyu beta? Hum the naa. Apni Choti Maa ko inta paraya kar diya?" Kulraj said as her eyes welled up again. This girl, who was raised by the most loving parents, had to spend 15 years in an orphanage.
"Aisi baat nahi hai Choti Maa. Woh mai baas...kissi pe boj-" Heer said. But Kulraj instantly interrupted her.
"Betiyaa kabhi boj nahi hoti Heer." Kulraj said calmly. Kindness was pouring out in the form of love for her new found daughter.

Heer. An imaginary pen just printed that name into Prem's heart. A slight smile formed on his lips as he watched her. Gosh she was beautiful.
::
For the last 20 minutes, he had watched his brother whose eyes were glued to this Heer. Seeing the feeling that was seeping into his brother's heart, Preet felt as if he had found the best way to have his brother stay in this house.
When Preet had seen Heer, he had formed an instant liking for her. A liking which told him that she was perfect to be his bhabhi and the respected wife of his brother.
His PB and Heer had so much in common. Heer had almost sacrificed her life for his mother and his PB has sacrificed his everything to keep his mom happy. It would make a perfect match. Only if things worked right for his brother now.
::
Kulraj was overwhelmed by the new members in her house. But as her eyes fell on him standing at the door, she somehow stiffened. Kulraj looked at the way Prem was admiring Heer. It somehow made her feel excited that Prem liked Heer and for a few seconds, she admired the look in her son's eyes. But as she looked closely at him, Rishab's eyes flashed back into her mind and hatred seeped in.
No. She couldn't let him get close to Heer. Heer was now her responsibility and she would never let him get close to her. It wasn't that she didn't know Prem as much as she should. Kulraj knew that he would never do anything even close to what his father had done to her. But the trust never built up. No matter how much she tried to reason with herself, she was not able to see him as her son. All she could see was that he was a rape child.
Looking back at the innocent girl, she decided to make her feel home.
"Heer, aaj se tu yahi rehna. Yeh karma tumhara hai. Tumhara saara saaman main lee kar atti hu." Kulraj said as she got up.
"Nahi Choti Maa'..please mai yaha nahi reh sakti. Yeh karma unka hai." Heer laid her eyes on Prem who instantly looked back at her in admiration. Kulraj noticed their slight interaction and decided to solve the matter.
"Woh Preet ke saath reh lega. Tu chinta mat kar." Kulraj answered her with a smile.
"Lekin-" Heer was about to counter the issue when Preet but in.
"Lekin vekin kuch nahi. Aap aaj se yahi rehegi. Main aapka saara saaman le ke aounga." Preet said as he walked into the room, while dragging along a reluctant Prem.
"Kyu PB? Jis insaan ne humari Maa ki jaan bachyi hai aur joh humaari Maa koh Choti Maa kehti hai, usse yaha rehne ka hack hai ke nahi?" Preet sat on the couch while Prem stood there uncomfortably.
It had been so long since he had seen his mom this close to him.
"Ha'..Haan. Rehna chaiye." Prem answered politely.
Heer smiled at Preet and then at Prem.
"Toh phir teek hai. Preet, tu jaake iska saaman le kar aa." Kulraj told her son and after noting the address of the Ashram, he made his way there.
::
Prem made sure that his eyes were lowered from now on so that they didn't make contact with her. He saw his mom come closer to him for once and an unknown excitement filled inside him.
"Tum apni cheeze Preet ke kamre me le jao." Kulraj told him coldly and when she saw him nod obediently, she exited the room. She couldn't take it anymore. Why did he have to be like that? Why can't he be rude and hateful for once so that she wouldn't feel so guilty? Letting out a deep sign, she made her way towards the phone to call up Kiran and let him know about Heer.
::
Prem went straight to his cupboard and pulled out a bag. One by one, he filled it with the essential amount of clothes, shoes, and accessories. He only had a few days left in the house before him bought his own and shifted.
He kept his thoughts to thinking about his new job and all but a soft voice made him stop and turn around.
"I'm sorry." Heer said softly. When their eyes met, he could see how apologetic she truly was.
"Kis liye?" Prem questioned with a polite smile. He saw how she was searching for words.
"Woh meri waje se tumhe yeh karma chodna pada. Lekin mai sach me yaha se chali jaongi-" Before Heer could reason herself, Prem took over.
"Tum kahi nahi jaogi. Aaj se yeh karma tumhara hai. Tum nahi jaanti ke tumne meri Maa ko bacha kar kya kiya hai. Aggar mai apni jaan bhi dedu toh tumhara yeh karz nahi utaar sakta." Prem said looking straight into her eyes.
Heer couldn't help but smile and admire the love that he had for his mom. Silence filled the room again as Prem glanced away to zip up his bag.
But before he made his way out of the room, he found it necessary to introduce himself. Walking up to Heer who was sitting up in bed, he gave her a friendly smile and held out his hand.
"Mai Prem hu. Tume joh kuch bhi chahiye toh mujhse kehna." Prem assured her.
Heer smiled at him and slid her small hand into his.
"Tumse mil kar bahot accha laga. Tum Choti Maa ke bade bete ho naa?" Heer asked innocently. But she didn't miss the grim shadow that fell over his face. However, soon enough, he replaced it with his friendly smile again.
"Haa. Lekin-" Prem was cut off as he saw Kulraj standing at the door and looking at the hands. Prem slowly took back his hand and made his way out of the room.
::
When she ended her talk with Kiran, she decided to give Heer some company. They had lots to talk about. But when she heard the conversation between them, her chest got filled with pride. Prem was being the way he always was. The way he made her feel comfortable had brought a slight smile onto her face. And when he said "Aggar mai apni jaan bhi dedu toh tumhara yeh karz nahi utaar sakta," tears instantly welled up in her eyes.
She saw him introduce himself to Heer and when their eyes were locked into each others, she felt as if Heer had felt her son's pain. Kulraj could see Prem and Heer as being one soul in two bodies. But when her eyes fell on their interlocked hands, Rishab came back into her mind and the love for her son changed into anger.
When Prem saw her, the look she gave him simply said "Get out!" And as always, he left without saying another word.
::
Heer had seen the interaction between the mother-son and she couldn't stop but think that something was definitely wrong. It seemed to her that Choti Maa had a dislike of Prem's presence around her. And it didn't take her long to realize the tension between the two.
::
A whole week had passed since Heer had moved into Juneja Mansion. She was treated like the daughter in the family. Kiran didn't leave a stone behind in spoiling her with all the expensive gifts that he could give her. Kulraj had stuffed her room, as in Prem's room, with the best clothes that she had ever seen. Preet had stuffed her stomach with so much food and made her come to the movies three times that week. Kiran and Kulraj gave her the love as if she were their very own child. Preet had become her hang-out buddy as well as the twin brother she never had.
And then there was Prem. In the past few days, he had become her best friend. He was the one she could talk to no matter what. On her fourth day at the Juneja house, Preet and Heer had gone to the movies. On their ride there, Preet had told her everything about Prem. And after knowing this other side of him, she couldn't help but fall even deeper in love with him. Pride filled up her heart when Preet told her that Prem had taken up a job at another company (when he could have simply worked under Kiran) and that he had chosen to move out so that Kulraj could forget the bitter memories of the past. All throughout the movies, she couldn't stop but think of him. Her Choti Maa was being unfair. But then again, who was she to decide upon this. Kulraj had been through a nightmare.
::
That very same night, she couldn't help but stop thinking about him. As usual, Preet, Kiran, Kulraj, and Heer had their dinner together. After dinner, Kiran ran up to his study with Preet to check over some office work while Heer helped Kulraj in the kitchen clean up. Prem was working till midnight so she expected that he would already have his dinner. But when she saw Kulraj fill up a plate with rajma and chawal, place it on the table, and cover it, she knew that he would eat at home. That was the first time she noticed how much Kulraj cared for Prem. When the clock ticked and announced that it was 11:00 pm, Kulraj wished Heer a good night and everyone slipped into their room. Everyone, except Heer.
She sat quietly on her bed after changing into a pink t-shirt and matching silk pajamas. With her back again the headboard and knees curled up to her chest, Heer stared at his picture. Those piercing coffee warm eyes made her heart melt. She could feel herself love him so much that it really did hurt. But it hurt in a good way. When he looked at her, it made her insides squeeze. Her silent thoughts were interrupted with a sudden click on the main door.
Heer sat up straight as she had waited for this moment. Checking herself in the mirror, she pinned her hair up in a ponytail and slowly made her way toward the kitchen.
When she entered, she instantly stopped in her tracks and admired the lean, muscular man in front of her. He was so much taller then her. And now as she noticed it, she noticed that he was the tallest in the family. His chest was broad and stuffed with rough muscles. The black blazer that he had on over his blue t-shirt and blue jeans made him look so damn sexy that she knew she would faint if she didn't think straight.
She watched him as he went straight for the fridge and disregarded turning on the lights. He pulled out a bottle of water, opened the lid, and drank straight from it. The light from the open refrigerator made his face glow and when she watched closely, she noticed how tired and drained his eyes looked.
Straight ten hours at work had him totally drained. So many files to check; a whole presentation to give; meetings to attend. Prem was all over the place today. And above that, he hadn't had a good night's sleep since the day Heer came. Each time he closed his eyes, he saw her smiling face. It wasn't that he minded that. Actually, it was the complete opposite. He loved her and wanted to drown in her. But it scared him to think that his feelings might hurt her. He didn't want to do anything stupid to make her feel uncomfortable around him. That would simply break his heart. She didn't even know what kind of father he had and what his existence represents. All these things had now added up and caused his severe head ache. As he closed the lid on the water bottle, he couldn't help but feel as if someone had their gaze of him. He turned to his side and felt his heart tighten upon the sight of her.
For a second they both stared at each other. Then slightly smiled.
"Sorry'lagta hai mai tumhe jaga diya?" Prem said in a voice full of guilt.
"Koi baat nahi. Waise tumhara din kaisa tha?" Heer smiled and pulled off some casual talk as she made her way into the kitchen.
"Accha tha. Bas thoda hectic." Prem answered rather casually.
"Toh phir jaldi se apne haath dho kar bahar aa jao. Mai tumhara khana garam karti hu." Heer informed him with a smile.
Khana? Iss waqt? Aur yeh yaha kya?? Prem wondered as he saw her retreating figure go into the dinning room.
Prem went into the bathroom, washed his face and hands and made his way back to the dinning room.
His eyes watched her small figure place a plate full rajma and chawal. And as she filled up a glass of water for him, he couldn't help but point out how beautiful she looked. Her silky hair was pulled into a loose ponytail. Her creamy arms glittered under the glow of the chandelier. Her eyes sparkled as they watched the water fill up the glass. His throat tightened when he found himself looking at her for a little too long. He shouldn't be here. He knew he shouldn't be doing this. But his heart told him that it was the right thing to do.
And before he knew it, his steps traced towards her and a desire filled inside him. Even if it was the simple desire of.....
