Rajveer reaches the next day, and almost immediately he receives an invite from Preet for dinner. He agrees readily, putting off running into Heer for at least a few hours. He does not know how he can keep something so big from his friend when they are face-to-face.
Dinner is a pleasant affair. The people around the table are all part of the plan. All genuinely want to bring Heer and Chahat back into Prem's life. He senses a shift in the dynamics of the family. Preet and Meher have (finally, he thinks) moved away from just friendship. Lalit and Preet have grown closer. Harman has become stronger, there is steel in his eyes. Maya has grown more mature and caring. Their love has grown into a more stable one. The only two that have remained as what he remembers are Kulraj and Kiran.
They discuss, in depth, how they are going to manage to break the wedding. Maya (rather enthusiastically) call for a remake of the not-wedding to Ashlesha, claiming she never got to see it. Meher laughs, teasing Maya about her filmy tendencies.
Harman wants to get proof of Gayatri and Ashlesha's misdeeds. He informs all present that the reason for the distance between Gayatri and Prem is because Prem found out that she tried to take Chahat away from Heer.
Lalit stills at that. Rajveer admires the man for his strength. "Humey yeh sachai sab ke saamne laana chahiye ke Nihaal ne Veera ke saath kuch nahi kiya," Lalit says. Rajveer nods once. That was where the roots had been laid. And Nihaal's name being cleared will mean a lot to his sisters.
Kulraj pipes up. "We should also expose Ashlesha's truth. The cover-up of that night brought about the separation."
Maya is silent for a moment. "I can get Ashlesha to admit the truth," she says. Harman covers her hand with his. "I've done things to this family, to Heer Bhabhi that I am not proud of. Some of this is my fault. If I can do this much, maybe some of my sins will be erased."
Kiran gently tells her that her speaking the truth all those years ago erased all of her mistakes. Rajveer wonders what they are talking about but figures it is not his place to ask.
Dinner is hastily finished after Lalit blesses Maya with luck. He pulls Rajveer aside as the couples leave and asks him if he is happy now that Geet is single. Rajveer is surprised he is so easy to read.
Of course he is happy Geet is not marrying Prem Juneja. Of course he is happy the woman he loves is not getting married. Of course he is happy the woman he loves is not marrying Heer's Prem.
