"So I think I'll be able to make it perfectly gorgeous," my best friend, Maddy said as she pushed a sketch pad towards me. She had designed an exquisite baby blue colored anarkali suit with embroidery everywhere. "In other words, you'll look so much more beautiful than Sanjana Rampal that she'll cry."

I picked up the sketch pad and examined the suit from top to bottom and set my ice cream bowl on the far end of the table. I couldn't stand to be away from ice cream too long. After all family business has to be appreciated right? But for the moment I forgot about my Chocolate Fiesta as I placed my eyes on looking at Maddy's sketch. "Oh! It's so pretty!"

She grinned up at me. "Really?"

"Really."

Maddy squealed and went back to checking over her design while I pulled my ice cream bowl back towards me. Maddy had been through so much in the past few months--it always felt good seeing her smile like this.

The main reason we were intent on looking better than Sanjana Rampal was one main reason. We HATED her. She was one of those girls you'd always hate. She came from Mumbai a year ago and literally stole everything from under our noses. We were smart. She was smartER. We were fun. She was funnER. We were pretty. She was prettiER. But the worst thing she did was steal Maddy's about-to-be boyfriend, Manav Khanna.

Manav and Maddy were next door neighbours and Maddy had loved him from afar for years. At the end of the last school year, it had seemed like Manav was FINALLY noticing Maddy; he'd asked her to go with him to dinner, and he had been spending time at her house, 'studying.' (READ: watching television while holding hands.) Then Sanjana had set her sights on him and it was like Maddy didn't exist anymore. They had become an item then.

Ever since then Shabo, our other best friend and I had declared war on her. Although the only thing we'd done so far was sneer at her. As I watched Maddy sketch a tux figure next to the anarkali suit my eyes immediately drifted off to my dream world. I could hardly judge guy's clothes, but Harman would look amazing in the tux that Maddy designed for him. Of course, Harman just happened to be the cutest guy I'd ever met, with his curly hair all cropped short--and those eyes. *

"You're frowning. Why are you frowning?" Maddy asked suddenly as she looked up at me. "You're not happy?"

"No! I think it's gorgeous." I stuck a spoon of my ice cream back in my mouth. "I was only thinking, will you have time before the big dance to design it?"

She shook her head. "Course I will! All I need are your measurements and Harman's."

I quickly took out my phone and checked through the messages. 0 Messages

Maddy's face looked concerned which made my insides do a little flip. "You'll have plenty of time to get his measurements," I assured her.

Harman didn't live in our city. He was more of city boy. He lived in Mumbai with his parents and little sister Veera. I met him three years ago at a giddha competition. He was the first person who congratulated me and I fell for that smile.

But now I was getting impatient. He'd always come up here every year around this time--but this year I hadn't heard anything from him for weeks now. The feeling was unnerving.

Whacha think? 😳 *I'm telling you now...describing Harman like that'made me wanna.....(ugh!) Anyways...I'll start on the next chapter soon, and yes sadly Preet is not introduced yet but he will be soon! 😛 Courtesy of either Shabo or Maddy (who btw...like their additions?😛) I was in the mood to use forum members rather than ppl in my head! 😛 And Radz...no Prem! 😃 Hope you guys liked it! 😛
