Pomfret Curry with Coconut

2 Pomfrets
1 big tin coconut milk while making the curry
4 Tablespoon Cooking Oil
1/2 onion sliced
Salt to taste

for masala - grind...
--------------------
10 Chillies, Red Dry
1 cup fresh grated Coconut
2 Tablespoon Coriander/Dhania
4 Flakes Garlic
1 Teaspoon Jeera/Cumin Seeds
Half Onion
4 Pepper Corns
1 small Ball Tamarind....size of a quarter
Half Teaspoon Turmeric Powder

Method
Clean, cut and wash the fish. Grind a grated coconut and other ingredients kept for grinding.

In a handi, put the cooking oil, and fry the sliced onions till they turn golden brown, then add the ground masala and fry it nicely stirring all the time till the oil seperates. Wash the left over masala in the grinder, with 1 cup of water, and add it to the fried masala along with the coconut milk, and boil with a little salt to taste.

After boiling the masala gravy well, put the fish pieces for about fifteen minutes, or till the fish appears to be fully cooked. Lastly, before putting off the fire, taste and add salt and little vinegar if required to suit your taste. Simmer for ten more minutes.

now if you like you gravy thinner add more water....see the point of cooking is using a recipe and then making it according to your taste.

this is one of the recipes....there are many variations

Rounse, Lady fish, mullets etc, can be cooked this way.
