Khyaati Keswani (Sejal of Kyunki…, Katrina of Kesar) had all the reasons to be happy on the evening of her fourth wedding anniversary (July 19).
Her husband Yash gifted her a Honda City V Tec on the special day. However, there was a prolonged wait before she put her hands on the steering wheel and left for a long drive.
"It was an anti-climax of sorts. I could not get my gift on the D-day. The car was not delivered on July 19. We got it a few days later," says Khyaati.
No surprise
Khyaati tells HiTLIST that the gift was not a surprise, "Yash and I had discussed it about a month back. In fact, we went to book it together. It would be slightly wrong to say that the car is mine.
I would rather say that it's our car, since we sold our former Santro before we bought this Honda City. But yes, we have bought it in my name. The fact that Yash doesn't need the car much and I, anyway, take it to my shootings, is a different story."
Spoilt for choice
Both, Khyaati and Yash (they have a one year and seven month old son Kanha) wanted Honda City V Tec. "We both love Honda City and wanted the model that had a stronger engine. Hence we went for V Tec. We did not mind spending a few extra lakhs." Khyaati has been driving on the city streets over six years now.
The original plan was to go for a holiday and spend some romantic time together. "But we realised that we could not afford to take a break because of our hectic schedules. So we decided to buy a car and be happy."
What next?
Khyaati is currently doing Ekta Kapoor's afternoon show Kesar (Star Plus), which is coming to an end. "After Kesar is over, I will take a break for 20 days, spend some quality time with my baby, and then return to work. I don't want to take up any other assignment until Kesar gets over," she concludes emphatically.
Yash Keswani is a writer who penned Kaante, Dus, Virrudh and is now writing Anubhav Sinha's Cash.
