opti I think there was another scene were he flunked....oke were he didn't move me....
I dont know which scene you had in mind Shanta, but one I can think of where his intensity was a bit low was outside the court house after the divorce trial when PL was panicking that Prachi was missing. The guy look lost rather than apprehensive or worried. I dont know whether he was asked to emote that way but that scene did not touch me. But he more than made up for it in his break down at the chawl house in front of baba. I normally dont weep seeing serials but that day I had tears in my eyes. His dialogue delivery and voice modulation were superb and so emotional. That is what I missed yesterday, his impeccable dialogue delivery. His confession sounded more like a recitation to me.

Personally, he is much more comfortable in dramatic sequences than in the light-hearted romantic ones...yes, he has lazy bedroom eyes and an enormous sex appeal, but his dialogue delivery almost always fails to impress me in the romantic scenes 😆

I agree with you there Kitty. His dialogue delivery is better in passionate scenes than in romantic ones. I like him empote with his eyes and smile in the romantic ones, without actually speaking. His eyes can convey much more than his words. The guy also has a great comic timing.

Dunno hun I loved him in ll of them even yesterday and the one where he apologisez to Prachi outside SM after the divorce proceedings I love that part have seen it a coutless times. In my opinion it wasn't Shabbo it was the crappy editing that marred the moment.
No Muneeza, I felt his dialogue delivery failed on that day too. It was'nt as passionate and intense as that scene would have demanded. Again all this is in relation to what the guy is capable of. Even this scene is better than what most guys can do but we have been spoilt by Shabbo, have we not?

I totally agree, with the scenes you have listed, also to include the scene after Milind had his accident and was about to rape Prachi, but he didnt. You can see the emotions of remorse in his eyes of what he did(when Milind says I'm not like ur brother and ur not even worth it!). ones action is louder than words.
Yes, I should have added that scene. How did I forget the scene that hooked me into to the show and Shabbo?

Just to add to the best scenes list, i think when he finds out ayesha's true intentions and comes back to SM mansion and has a go at her, that scene is very good. Also, when prachi says in front of everyone that rithwick is her child, and he is completely heartbroken, that scene was too good. It made me cry that one! 😭 .
Yes, Fahima. Those were splendid scenes too. I made this thread at work and just hurriedly typed out the scenes that first came to my mind. So I missed out on some lovely ones as is being pointed out!
Your choices were spot on, opti.
As far as I'm concerned, I think Shabbir's lost interest in the serial and who would blame him? He looks lost in thought all the time as though something outside of the show is on his mind....even in that SBS snippet he was fiddling with his cell phone all the time...nothing wrong in that ....it's just that on the sets, perhaps he ought to concentrate more on what's happening there....I don't know....just my opinion.
As for yesterday's confession scene, he was good but not at his best....I guess we feel a little cheated because we expected more passion and feeling in what transpired. I wish they were sitting together on that bench holding each other while he spoke abt how his dad n sis would be happy to hear abt them....that distance bt them killed that scene for me....but that's nothing to do with Shabbir's acting, just poor direction!I for one felt he ought to have run back and given Prachi a tight I-can't-bear-to-let-go-of-you hug before he left the terrace.
Pippa, totally agreed.
Opti, GREAT post, but thats to be expected....I think I am going to keep a tab of your great posts (most of them are) and bad ones just like Shabbo's scenes😉...kidding.

As far as I'm concerned, I think Shabbir's lost interest in the serial and who would blame him?Yes, Pippa. I was also getting that impression and would'nt balme him one bit. Afterall the guy had said that he needs to feel excited about what he is doing to give it his best. Hope these guys give him a good track which will showcase his talents.

I too found that pretty odd. He seemed far removed from the rest of the world.
As for yesterday's confession scene, he was good but not at his best....I guess we feel a little cheated because we expected more passion and feeling in what transpired.Exactly. The scene I felt demanded it. And Shabbo is a person who can rise above shoddy direction. He really does not need a good director. When Panchi and Jay were good yesterday one cant really lay all the blame on the director. If he is bad, then they did well inspite of that. All the more reason Shabbo would have aced it. Yesterday just was'nt his day or as I said in another thread he has been made to rust for four months. So may be he needs to be given to warm up again. Even the best musician needs to practice and so too an actor. With OGF not giving him scope to do so, the guy may be a little out of practice.

Yeah, that is not Shabbo's fault
I for one felt he ought to have run back and given Prachi a tight I-can't-bear-to-let-go-of-you hug before he left the terrace.
Pippa, could'nt agree with you more.
As I said, my problem with him in yesterday's episode was with his dialogue delivery.

SF, I will be more interested to know the bad ones dear. I welcome criticism. That's the only way one can grow. Not that one needs to grow in the aspect of making posts but atleast it will keep me from boring people to death!!!
