Ankahee

"Yeh, kya kar rahee ho tum?" He demanded
She closed her eyes, kneeling by the cliff, how did he find her? She asked herself, knowing the answer, exactly as she had found him on the beach that day.
"Aap..." was all she could manage at first. "Kyun aaye hai yahaan?" she asked courageously

PART ONE

(SHORT UPDATE)

"Yeh, kya kar rahee hai tu?" He demanded
She closed her eyes, kneeling by the cliff, how did he find her? She asked herself, knowing the answer was, exactly as she had found him on the beach that day.
"Aap..." was all she could manage at first. "Kyun aaye hai yahaan?" she asked courageously.
His face contorted, angrily running his hands through his hair, he advanced swiftly towards her, determination written across his face.
He wrenched her up, his hands gripping her arms tightly, his eyes flashing. Visibly in pain, she yanked herself free, taking slow steps backwards, tears forming in her eyes and her heart thudding in her chest.
"Prachi…" Milind said suddenly, jerking forward he grasped at her again, pulling her close, his arms enclosing around her tightly. Another step and she would have been down the cliff…
She stood limp against his firm body. She stared determinedly at anything but him, her breathing ragged against his chest.
"Kyun aaye hai aap Milind?" She asked again, her eyes lifeless.
His hands went to her face, cupping her cheeks gently; he bought his face dangerously close to hers. Her eyes widened in fear, she closed them, shaking.
"Kyun?" he whispered, "Dekhne aaya tha ke mereko barbaad kar ke, kitne khush hai tu…" he pushed her away from him roughly, "lekin yeh kya, aur natak, aur nautanki." He laughed bitterly.

She shivered, feeling the onset of rain before the drops hit her skin, mingling with her tears…
"Dekh liya?" Prachi shouted, above them the leaves rustled and thunder clapped. Milind looked at her curiously, how dare she? Her audacity infuriated him. "Aare dekhne ko tune choda hi kya hai? Sub kuch to tune mujse cheen liya hai."
"Maine cheena? Aap se? Loot to meri duniya gaye hai" Prachi grabbed his collar, their bodies almost touching as the rains burst upon them "kiya to sirf aap ke liye, jiye to sirf aap ke liye, meri galti kya ti Milind? Maine aap ko, aap ke parivaar ko, aap ki khushi, gaam, waafai, bewaafai sub ko aapna mana." She gasped, breathing past her tears; she ploughed on, drawing on her newfound courage, loosening her grip on him.
"Bardaast nahi hota aab Milind, kya karu main? Kitne baar safai du aap ko? Mujse pyaar karne ka daawa kiya tha na aap ne…Ek hi baar main bharosa toot gaya Milind? Mera bharosa toot jaye to kuch nahi." She stopped. She knew he wasn't aware of her knowledge of the night he had spent with Ayesha.
Milind stared at her, unsure of what to say, he wondered who was standing in front of him. He felt powerless, his resolution to hurt her, crush her, like she had done to him, waned. What had she just said? She couldn't possibly know. He pushed the thought from his mind and opened his mouth to speak.
"Jo Ankaha hai hamare beech, who maine to mehus kiya, lekin aapne meri mujburi kyun nahi sumhji?" Prachi demanded.

PART TWO

(short again..sorry)

"BAS! Aur nahin suna, samajna muje kuch" Milind burst forth. Turning, he walked away from her, towards his car.
Prachi watched his retreating back, "Kahin der na ho jaye Milind…" she whispered.
Reaching his car, he turned to look at her, banging his fist on her car, he strode towards her again.
"Ghar chalo, Baba pareshaan hai, patha nahi kya jadoo kiya hai tune." He said roughly. She stared at him, unmoving.
Grabbing her hand and pulled her towards the car. "Betho" he pushed her into the car. Prachi said nothing. She thought of Baba and her resolve dissolved. Slowly she got in the car.

Milind drove fast, as if the thought of being in such close proximity to her was driving him insane. Prachi continued to sit silently. She resisted the urge to touch him; to make him understand, she still loved him. But she knew, she'd have to be strong, he needed to prove he loved her too.
He looked at her intently, god she was beautiful, he should have known. Beauty comes with a price and he was paying for it…for falling in love with her, believing in her deceit. He drove on…he needed to be away from her. The more he looked at her, the more he began to forget the reason he couldn't have her. Her silence melted his heart. He needed to get home.

He continued to drive, not looking at the road, glaring at her, he accelerated... faster and then even more rapidly.
"Milind" Prachi gasped loudly…He turned and was blinded by a bright white light; he crashed head long into an oncoming car.

He opened his eyes, his head throbbing, touching his hand to his head, he felt an odd wetness. He looked down at his hands; they were stained red with blood. His eyes widened and instinctively he reached to his left, feeling for Prachi. He grasped her shoulder and shook her, blood was seeping from the side of her head and her eyes were closed. Panic rose in Milind's chest. What had he done?!
"Prachi, Utho, Utho Prachi!!" He shouted. Suddenly a distinct odour filled his nose…petrol, the tank was leaking.
He loosened his belt quickly and fell out of the car, it was wrecked, where was the other car?
He rushed to the other side of the car, he pulled at the door. It was stuck! His hands began to shake…he needed to get her out. Breathing rapidly, he yanked the door, again and again. Finally it gave way and Prachi tumbled into his arms. He pulled her out, lifting her up they moved swiftly away from the car.

He collapsed on the ground, his knees giving way. The grass softened their fall, he clutched at Prachi. Shaking her gently, he let out a groan. "Prachi, please, Utho…Prachi" he whispered into her hair again and again.
"Milind…" she trembled in his arms, straining to open her arms. He held her tighly, as if he'd found some lost treasure, afraid of losing it again.
