Recap: Ayesha tries to commit suicide, but her attempt fails. Prachi feels uncomfortable with the tense state of affairs between her and Ayesha, regarding Milind.

Part 23:

The week had been extremely hectic for Milind, who had spent the majority of his time at the office working on the development of a hotel in Delhi. At home, Prachi had spent the entire week avoiding Ayesha. Whenever Ayesha entered a room, Prachi left. When Ayesha arrived at the dining table for meals, Prachi would find an excuse to go into the kitchen. Milind hadn't noticed Prachi's strange demeanor, since they both really had no private time together all week, due to his heavy workload. Milind was spending well over 18 hours of his day in his office, only coming home to sleep. He would arrive around 1am, and then be gone by 6am.

Ayesha had noticed that her half-sister had been avoiding her, and this pleased her immensely.  Ayesha was upset that she couldn't spend a lot of time with Milind due to his workload, but she was happy to know that he still cared about her, since he tried to call her at least once a day, to make sure that she was feeling okay. Ayesha remembered that about a week ago she had a heated debate with Milind, where he had agreed to come see her in an hour after they both cooled down. True to his word, Milind had arrived back in her room, an hour later, and they had a sincere conversation with each other. Milind had promised to take care of her, and always be her friend. Both had agreed to be lifelong friends. But still, Ayesha knew she wanted more, and she was confident that she would get what she wanted very soon.

Ayesha had also noticed that the entire week, Milind and Prachi had spent less time together, This brought immense joy to her, since she was sure that this was due to the fact that Milind's feelings for Prachi were diminishing and his passionate feelings for her, Ayesha, were rekindling.

***

For the first time in one week, Milind was finally home in time for dinner. Prachi was pleased to see him seated at the dining table, smiling and engaged conversation with Neev. She was really glad to see the two men becoming friends. For a change, the entire family was seated at the dining table, except Ayesha and Prachi, who was in the kitchen preparing the food with Ramu Kaka.

"Arrey Prachi," yelled Milind from the dining table, "Come sit!"

"Coming," Prachi answered, as she grabbed a tray of food and headed to the table. She noticed that Milind has saved the a seat at the table for him, which was right beside his. Smiling, Prachi made her way to her chair. As Prachi walked towards the table, Ayesha quickly dashed to the dining table and took Prachi's seat.

Ayesha turned to Milind, as everyone sat in shock, simply staring at her. "How was your day Milind?" asked Ayesha.

"Fine," mumbled Milind, as he looked up at Prachi, who was standing above his chair, putting a roti in his plate.

"Ayesha," stated Milind, with no expression on his face, as he stared directly into Ayesha's eyes, "You are sitting in Prachi's seat. Can you please move?"

"It's okay, Milind" spoke Prachi softly.

"No, Prachi. It's not okay," retorted Milind, "Ayesha, please get up."

"Milind!" shrieked Ayesha, "If she does not care, then why do you? It's just a bloody chair. Besides, Prachi needs to go into the kitchen to get me a glass of wine. Don't you Prachi?" Ayesha looked up at Prachi, who was standing nervously at the edge of the table.

"Okay Ayesha," answered Prachi. As she was about to move, Milind abruptly grabbed her arm, preventing her from walking back into the kitchen.

"Ayesha! Enough is enough! Prachi is my wife, and this is her seat. Get up now!" yelled Milind.

"Ayesha, darling, come sit beside me," said Neev, hoping to ease the tension in the dining room.

"Oh shut up Neev!" snapped Ayesha. Her gaze returned to Milind as she yelled at him, "Listen Milind. I am not moving! Do whatever you want!"

"Milind'please'this is not a big deal. Stop bickering," pleaded Prachi, in attempt to diffuse the situation.

Milind instantly let go of Prachi's arm which he had been holding. He fiercely got up and left the dining table without eating.

Not wasting a second, Prachi ran after him. She knew he had not eaten all day, and couldn't bear to see him walk away from the table still hungry.

Ignoring what had just happened, Ayesha put some dahl into her plate, and grabbed a roti, and started eating. In the mean time, everyone else took their plates of food and left the table. Nobody wanted to sit with Ayesha. The only person who remained seated at the table was Alaap, who was extremely pleased with the situation.

As Ayesha ate her food, she realized that despite a week of not being with each other, Milind and Prachi's relationship was still strong. She realized that she needed to do something drastic to break the couple up. Suddenly, she knew exactly what her next move would be.

"Game over, Prachi Shah," thought Ayesha with a sinister grin on her face, "Your game is over."
