Recap: Prachi confesses that she loved Milind. Milind rejects her and she leaves. He then realizes that he made a terrible mistake and decides to get her back.

Part 48:

Milind rushed out of the hotel doors, and quickly approached a security guard. "Have you seen a woman in a bright pink sari with a golden blouse? She just left the building," asked Milind.

"Yes, sir, I did. She was making her way to the nearby train station. I got a taxi for her a couple of minutes ago."

Milind was relieved that luck was on his side. He now knew where she was going, and it was only a matter of time before he got to her.

Speedily, he ran to his parked black Mercedes car, and drove off. He was driving well over the speed limit, but that didn't matter to him at this time. He zoomed through traffic lights, and cut off many other drivers. He was focused and determined. Driving furiously, Milind arrived at the train station at record speed. He got out of his car, and suddenly banged his fist across the bonnet of his vehicle as he looked at the crowded train station. There were thousands of people here. How was he going to find his wife?

***

As she suppressed her hot tears, Prachi approached the ticket box, "Can I please get one ticket to Delhi?" Prachi realized she really had no other choice. She was to go back to Delhi, and resume her life as an event planner.

"Your train leaves in 20 minutes from platform 12, madam. I suggest you hurry up and take your seat," instructed the man at the ticket box.

Prachi made her way to platform 12, but then suddenly remembered what she was to do. Milind had handed her the divorce papers and told her to sign. She still had them in her purse. She'd promised him that she would sign them tonight. She had to sign them or else he was going to kick her family out of their house. She also had to sign them so he could get engaged to that woman he now loved, Sonia Singhania. Thinking of Milind loving another woman hurt Prachi beyond belief.

She was surprised at her own reaction, when she replayed the kiss she'd witnessed between Sonia and Milind. She felt as if she no longer had a reason to live. She felt inferior and pathetic. She had never before experienced such intense heartache.

Collecting her emotions, Prachi walked over to the small post-office which adjoined the train station. She opened her clutch and pulled out the papers and a pen. She signed and dated the divorce documents. She then purchased an envelope and stamps to mail Milind the papers. He would get them tomorrow morning. "Bhai saab," she asked the post-office attendant, "Where is the mail box?"

"You have to exit the station to post it. The mailbox is right outside our main location," he explained.

Prachi looked at the clock hanging in the small post-office. She only had 15 minutes before her train left. She had to be fast. Quickly, Prachi made her way outside the station, as people stood gazing at her. It wasn't everyday you see a woman, walking alone, and wearing a stunning pink sari in a train station. She was clearly overdressed and as a result, was the object of many curious stares. Trying to ignore her situation, Prachi walked outside and towards the mailbox.

As she was about to place the letter in the box, she heard a thunderous voice, "PRACHI!"

***

Prachi instantly recognized the voice, and closed her eyes. "Is Milind here?" she thought, hoping it was not her imagination. She slowly turned around, with the envelope still in her hand, as she saw him standing there in the same business suit he wore when she's met him at the hotel. Prachi didn't know how to react. How did he find her? Why was he here? Did he want to yell at her some more? Did he want to make sure she signed the papers?

As she stood there confused, he quickly walked towards her, and grabbed her by the waist, pulling her in close. His swift action was enough to break Prachi's silence.

"I signed them. I was just about to post them," she said quietly, holding back tears, as she looked up at his eyes. He was giving her an intense gaze that made Prachi feel extremely nervous.

His smoldering look raised so many questions for Prachi. Milind looked around and saw an empty area in the train station lot, where no one could see them. He quickly grabbed Prachi's wrist and took her there.

"What are you doing Milind?" questioned Prachi, "I have to go!"

Milind brought her to the empty parking lot adjacent to the station. It was getting dark now, and the dimly lit parking lot was secluded enough from other people for them to have some privacy. He still didn't let go of her wrist. Instead, he pulled her close to him once again. She felt the impact. Her body was up against his solid, muscular frame. There was barely any room between them.

Prachi began to panic. Her train was leaving soon and she didn't have enough money on her to buy a ticket for the next one. "Milind! Stop it! I have to go! My train is leaving soon!" she screamed, as she tried to break away from his grip.

He was not letting her go.

"Why are you doing this?" screamed Prachi, finally breaking her resolve. Tears began streaming down her face and she began sobbing hysterically.

This was enough to break Milind's silence. Seeing her in this state pulled at his heart strings. He hated seeing her like this, and to think, it was because of him.

"I'm sorry," he spoke, still not letting her go, "But you're not going anywhere tonight."

She looked at him confused, "Why? What do you want to say to me now Milind? I know I was a horrible wife, and I know you don't love me. I know you're marrying Sonia. She's young and beautiful and you love her. What do you want to tell me now? That I am nothing in comparison to her? That she's amazing and vivacious and that all I ever did was bring you pain? That our marriage was just a compromise and a strategic decision on your part and you're glad it's finally over? I KNOW ALL THIS ALREADY!"

"BAS! ENOUGH!" yelled Milind "Is that what you really think of me, Prachi?" He asked, infuriated at her stupid remarks. How could she say those things? Did she not know him at all?

His grip around her wrist tightened, and his other hand grabbed her bare waist from under her sari pallu. She felt his fingertips press against her flesh. Milind spoke thunderously, "Our marriage may have started off as a strategic decision on both our parts, but you and I both know that it turned into the purest and most beautiful decision of our lives."

Prachi looked up at him, trying to suppress her tears. He looked at her with his intense gaze. She could sense that he meant every word he was saying.

"I've loved you more than I could ever love anyone else in my life," he continued passionately, "You're the best wife a man could ever ask for. You love me and you love my family. You accepted me despite my flaws. Prachi, you should have never left me like you did, without knowing the entire truth. But I've forgiven you for this, because I can't live without you. Without you, I'm empty. I want to wake up to your beautiful face. I want to go to sleep after looking at your cute dimpled smile. I want to come home from work and grab you and kiss you."

Prachi couldn't believe what was happening, "But you're marrying Sonia. She kissed you." she stated softly.

"I'm an idiot! I don't love Sonia. I was going to marry her because it would be good for the business. I though marrying her would help me get over you. But nothing can let me get over you. Prachi, you run through my veins. There were days I tried hating you and I tried not thinking about you, but no matter what I did, you were always on my mind," he explained.

"Milind, she's gorgeous. How can you think of me when you're with her? Then before her, it was model of the month Anjali!" said Prachi. Clearly, seeing Anjali with Milind and then Sonia kiss Milind had dented her self-esteem. It hurt Milind to see Prachi question herself.

"Prachi, how could you even think that I could ever love another woman?" asked Milind, "I dated Anjali because I knew you were going to be in Sydney and I wanted to torture you. I'm not proud of myself for doing that, but that's the truth. I've never even thought about Sonia the way I think about you," he explained.

"Prachi, you're the prettiest, sexiest woman in the world. You have a heart of gold. You always put everyone else before yourself. You're unselfish and sincere. You're loving and genuine. You light up every room with your smile. You have a calming and peaceful presence that I always want beside me. I want you and no one else. How could you even think that I would prefer Sonia or Anjali to you? You're amazing and beautiful. Every head turns when you walk into a room, and you're so innocent that you don't even realize the effect your beauty has on everyone, and especially on me," said Milind, passionately as he gazed into Prachi's eyes.

She said nothing, but simply stared back at him with her beautiful kohl-lined eyes.

He took his hand off her wrist, but kept his hand on her waist. He moved his free hand to her face. "Prachi, I'm sorry I made you feel so bad and upset. I'm sorry for taking my anger out on you and for all the hurt I caused you. If you give me one more chance, I will make things right between us. I love you from the deepest depths of my heart. I've never felt this way about anyone else in my life, and I never can. I'm not a good husband, I know. But, there's no doubt in my mind when I say this, no man can love you the way I do."

Milind looked at Prachi trying to assess her reaction. She said nothing, but then suddenly, she wrapped her arms around Milind and started crying loudly. "I love you too Milind," she sobbed, "I always have and I always will."

Milind moved his face towards hers. He put his hand in her hair as he moved his lips towards hers. He captured her lips in a passionate embrace, which Prachi reciprocated with equal intensity. He moved both his arms around her as she bent her neck backwards. His fervent kisses started moving down from his lips to her chin and then to her neck. As he got to the shallow of her neck, he felt her push him away. He looked up at her. She was blushing and looking away. He pulled her into a hug.

"Prachi, this feels so right," he spoke softly, as he kissed the top of her head.

She looked up at him, smiling. She couldn't believe what had happened. She had her husband back!

As they walked back, hand-in-hand, to Milind's car, a thought arose in Prachi's mind.

"I know I love you and that you love me," spoke Prachi as she clutched her husband's hand, "but Milind, before we can take this any further, we have a lot to talk about. I don't want any more misunderstandings to come between us."

Milind looked at her, and nodded. He definitely agreed with Prachi. He didn't want anything to go wrong in their relationship ever again. For this to happen, he knew they needed to work everything out. "You're right Prachi," he spoke, "but before we speak, you have to change your outfit."

"Why?" questioned Prachi, confused.

"Because ever since I saw you in this sexy sari, all I can think about is helping you take it off," he chuckled as he winked.

Prachi gently hit Milind's arm, as he pretended to get hurt. "Some things never change," muttered Prachi, clearly embarrassed.

"Thank God for that," remarked Milind, as he gently placed a soft kiss on Prachi's lips as she took her seat inside the car.
