Hello people, taking off, from where the episode ended last (30th August 2007), I thought I'd pen down a short story in continuation ... So here goes....

I sincerely hope this is enjoyable and not in anyway a devastating continuation to an already sad and heart wrenching episode...

Prelude -

Prachi is walking away in shock from what seemed to be her world moments that lay around her now as ruins of a beautiful unspoken dream … her world that revolved around her husband, her man, her destiny... memories of her relation with him, flashing back...

Silent Echoes …

All that seemed to have remained was a deathly silence that echoed the lament of broken hearts, over a shattered dream, a world that they had begun to hold ever so dear…

Benumbed, he stood … hanging on to the one moment… that seemed now, the moment, he had lived his life…, the moment, that seemed now, shall never return…

Every step away from her, tearing through his being, his soul shrieking in agony… he willed himself to take every step, as he walked away … turning towards to a life, that had been shattered and was to remain so… it seemed … to him … forever…

Unable to will himself further, he stood, benumbed and lost at the threshold, to a world that had been his, that had been hers…that had been theirs… their world… and as he stared… ahead… all that glared back at him … was the ashen remains of a ruined life… a shattered unspoken dream …

Surrendering to a burdened, pained heart, weighing him down… he struggled to hold on … as he slumped against the door… taking in the surroundings through his bleary eyes … making no effort to stop the tears … that had once been a world… they shared… that could have been their world…

Moments passed in silence, as he stood in silence… blank tearful eyes… sheathed so deep in pain…seeming devoid of life… that stared ahead at the deep crimson… of the carpet… as a involuntary shiver ran through his body… as he jerked out of his trance… lifting his gaze… as a tear fell carelessly… on the ground...

Lifting his gaze, he stared at the frame that held a memory of young girl smiling… that stood precariously on the edge of the table beside the bed…

A strange sense of calm seeping in… through his being… he walked in a trance towards the frame… the tears brimming in his eyes blurring the sight ahead of him… as he … standing now.. only a step away from the table… let go… allowing himself to slump on to the edge of the bed…as warm tears fell onto the back of his palm…

Lifting his gaze… he stared at the young girl… who was smiling back at him… smiling with her heart… as he noticed the smile… had reached her eyes… the unmistakable twinkle in her eye… that sent a warm sensation through his being that very instant…

As he stared at the girl in the frame…a soft, pained voice…echoed in his ears… "Milind, main jaa rahi hoon…."…a voice that had torn through this heart … that had shattered him… to the soul… the words, words… that seemed so distant now… yet it was the voice… that echoed … loud and clear… the voice , that had called out to him… and yet… he was here… alone… shattered… for life…

He stared at the girl that he had known to be a woman… a woman, in whose eyes, he had seen a future … a life… a dream of a man he could be… a dream of a life… that could have been…

The smile would never fade from the girl's face … but it seemed the smile had been lost forever… in the tears of the woman, she had grown to be … a woman in love…

*****

Like a candle in the wind, holding on to the lone ray of hope, to hear his voice call out to her… through the deafening silence…she willed herself… to turn away… the sight of him walking away… tearing through her heart… the tears flowing endlessly… down her cheeks…

"Main tumhe chodna chaahta hoon… "…his voice echoed in the silence… "jab haamre beech kuch nahin raha… "…she shut her eyes in desperation to shut out the voice that had uttered the words that had shattered her very being, her very existence…

Shutting out the words, the voice, she let the tears flow endlessly… willing herself to walk away from a life, a world that she had nurtured with her heart…hoping in deep desperation, to hear, his voice call out to her… jus once more …

Walking down the stairs, it seemed, she was drowning into the dizzying depths of endless despair … and solitude…

The cool breeze of the dark night seemed to mock the overwhelming emotions that seemed to have consumed the pained hearts…

Benumbed, by the cold emotions, she walked away, each step away from what had been her world, tearing through her, as her heart bled in silence…leaving behind a shattered soul… a ruined life…

As the silent walls, stood witness, to their shattered dream…, she walked in silence … pausing a step away from the threshold…

As she willed herself to cross the threshold of her world into another , that seemed alien… a soft involuntary gasp of pain crossed her lips… that seemed to have leapt up through her being from the depths of soul…as she shut her eyes in pain … her heart weeping in silence… as a muffled cry of soul... calling out to her... faded into the deathly silence of shattered emotions...

Memories of their moments together loomed afore her , that seemed distant... as she winced in pained at the thought of them all... remaining mere memories... that were never to return....

Willing herself, against her wish, to turn around for one last glance of a world that had been hers, she walked out into the cool dark night... that awaited her ...

*****

Overwhelming sense of noetic, a misguided heart, an unspoken wish, a shattered dream, and a muffled cry of pain… a torn heart… was all remained… ruins of a once nurtured unspoken, unexpressed dream…

*****

A witness to his life, she had been, and the thought of the man , who had been her protector , lose the very reason for his existence tore through her like a sword of guilt… as she pulled herself… together… and made her way to the world , of the man… she had grown to love and respect over the years... willing herself to surrender, to set the man, who was her family… her strength , free from the chains that he willed himself to be bound in, unknowingly.

Standing at the threshold… she watched him… torn in pain, devoid of a will to live… run his fingers over the thin frame…that held the memory of a young girl and her happiness …

Unable to jerk him out of his reverie… she stood… tears flowing down… when jerking out of her silence… she willed herself… to call out to him… her voice seeming distant and alien to her…

"Bhaiya…"

She waited with a bated breath , as she saw his finger twitch ever so little as he rested his palm on the edge of the bed… when realizing he had acknowledged her … presence… made her way… in silence… towards him …

*****

Kneeling over in front of a now defeated man, she gently placed her palm over his, as he raised his gaze, she took in the lost gaze… devoid of life… a searing pain tearing through her… watching him…

A strange sense of calm filled her, as she watched him… a moment of realization, he was all she had ever called family… and it was he, who she had, to go back to, always … always…

A man who fought the world for her, and for whom, she'd battle the demons of the noetic to stand by him, her protector, and the man she called, her family…

Realizing her voice had choked , and willing herself, to free him from the chains that bound him… in misery, she pulled herself together and spoke yet again in the strange alien voice…"Bhaiya…"…

Momentarily closing his eyes, he let a tear drop onto her palm…

The warm tear that fell ever so carelessly on her palm, sent a sense of desperation through her… as she spoke with renewed determination….

"Bha..Bhaiya… Bhaabi ko… "… unable to continue… she felt tears well up in her eyes…" Bhabhi ne mera saath hamesha diya… aur khud galat saabit ho gayi… aapki nazron mein…"…

Noticing that the man afore her, seemed to have stopped breathing… stopped living… she willed herself harder to continue…

"Wo hotel, wo paise , Wo party, sab mere liye tha…"…"Bhaiya… unhe jaane mat do … please… zimmedaar main hoon.. koi aur nahin... sirf main... "

A lone tear, rolled down his cheek, as a warm sensation seeped through his being…

Lifting his gaze he looked into the eyes of the young woman, who had called his family, his princess…and questions filled his eyes… and realizing the same… her soft voice spoke…

"Aapka bharosha nahin todoongi Bhaiya…"..her voice seeming strangely distant and alien and hollow... she continued...." par pehle bhabhi ko ghar laayiye Bhaiya… please Bhaiya..." … she pleaded…in a choked voice

With strange sense of foreboding filling him, as he took in the words the soft voice of his sister spoke , he pulled himself together … willing himself to be driven by the hope, that all was not lost…

As he pulled himself up, she hugged him warmly… and looked up into his eyes, pleading in silence to have faith in her …and let him go…

*****

Patting her head gently… he placed his palm on her cheek and looked deep into the eyes of young woman who stood afore him… the unmistakable look of worry in his eyes for her… as she looked back … "Jaaiye Bhaiya… "… "main theek hoon… " she assured him… as he with a finality and a unmistakable hint of hesitance in his stride… walked toward the door…

Walking over to the threshold, he paused involuntarily… as she noticed him pausing and almost walked over to him, when she saw him… over come his hesitance , and take the step towards the one soul, the key to his life…

Watching him walk away from the room, she made her way out of the room… pausing at the threshold, to glance back at the room, a slight smile of satisfaction spreading over her lips, a faint flicker of worry and pain crossing her face… ever so slightly at the thought of her conversation with her brother, that was to ensue in a while... and brushing aside the thought, smiling at the thought of the happiness that awaited her brother, she walked out… closing the door behind her…

*****

Walking out into the corridor, lost in thought, his heart feeling strangely light…, he ran his fingers through his hair… when his gaze fell on the large mahogany door below, that lay open… the cool breeze of night gushing through curtains, making them sway lazily…

Jerking out of his trance, he let his thoughts drift …" Jaana tho mujhe chaahiye… is ghar se…"… something caught in his chest, as he held the railing… " aapki zindagi se…" the muted walls of the empty house echoed …her soft voice…as he stared again at the door and with an urgency … walked down the corridor , sprinting down the steps… into the hallway, the beat of his desperate and anxious heart deafening his ears…

Reaching out, onto the porch, he dashed across to his car near the driveway …

A sense of urgency to reach out to her, driving him to the edge, he reached for the ignition, when he stopped himself… his gaze seeming distant and lost, a tear lurking in the corner of his eye… "Kahaan gayi hogi…" … he winced … as realization struck him hard in his face, that much as their moments together , gave him a sense of dj vu… and a sense of having known her forever… they had never shared much about the nuances of their daily lives, that seemed to have never mattered…

Burying his face his hands, he shut his eyes hard … as a shiver ran through his body, making him seem so vulnerable…and helpless…

Moments passed in silence, the deathly calm of the night, mocking the silence that had seemed to fill their lives …

Lifting his face, he gazed around in desperation looking at the mansion, that would have been his home, but yet it seemed to mock … his achievements, his sorrow, his happiness... his life… his very sense of pride… it mocked him…

In nervous desperation, he ran his fingers through his hair, trying to revive a memory that would lead him to her… when he stared at the swing in the garden…

Visions from his memory loomed afore him… from the distant past… "Papa , main drive pe jaaon… bas thodi der ke liye…".. she had pleaded her father for her evening drive… when her father had replied… "haan… mujhe pata wo sirf drive nahin, tumhe wo coffee shop pasand.. hai…jao.."…smiling so, she had left… thanking her dad… and walked away as dusk had set in that evening …

A sudden rush of chill spreading through his being, he swung the metallic beast onto the drive and dashed out onto the dark streets of city…

*****

Hanging onto his only hope in the dark, to her plausible whereabouts… he hoped in desperation, that he had determined correctly, her need to be in a place of quiet that would give her moments to be alone with her thoughts… "sirf is ek baar main theek ho oon.. sirf is ek baar… wo bas theek ho.. "…he muttered under his breath to himself… hoping desperately he was right… willing the metallic beast to move faster over the dark lonely roads…

*****

As the distant city skyline came into view through the dark shadows of the night, a light dizzying sensation of desperate hope filled his being, as he willed his metallic beast to move faster …

A cool gush of air, hit him, as he pulled the window shade down, his eyes searching for the one place that held the key to his life…as his body shivered involuntarily, to the chill of the air that filled the interiors of his metallic beast…

Moments passed with cool breeze of the night, calmed his being… numbing him to the soul, as his eyes , sought in desperation and with an unrelenting determination … to redeem his life, to revive his battered self… in the eyes of the woman … that mirrored his soul…

*****

As the metallic beast sped on the stretch, along the ocean line, his eyes caught the hazy vision of the faint light along the dark lane, as his heart leapt up with a sudden euphoria…

Pulling over, across the street … he looked over across at the tiny caf… as he felt a strange sense of cool on his face… when he realized it was a light drizzle that had begun…

A strange sense of calm filling him momentarily, he shifted his gaze towards the windshield of his metallic machine watching the raindrops splash against and slid away… as a soft smile lingered over his lips… as he relived a memory of watching his angel dancing in the rain…

Closing his eyes, he let the beautiful feeling, as he reminisced the moment, fill all of his being… his heart wishing for a miracle to let him relive the moment yet again today… and jus as quickly… jerked himself to the moment , that was now… and turned his gaze to the coffee shop…

*****

Leaning against the sleek black machine, he made no effort to wipe the rain drops splashing across his face… as he let the cool sensation seep in, calming him…

He watched the little coffee shop that resembled those he had seen in the magazines that lay across her table in the room, he struggled to place where he had seen the vision before… as he heard the faint rush of waves across the shore line…

The little caf across had a typical flavor to its architecture, the emanated a warm and cozy air around it. The dark wooden door and windows, the low hanging lights, over the tables … it was one place… that struck him as calm…

In a strange way, he knew why she had always enjoyed this place… at the moment as he watched the coffee shop, a deep seated feeling in his heart, that calmed him beyond all logic… a sense that was evident in his stride… as he walked across towards the caf … a sense of homecoming…

*****

The dull rhythm of the drizzle against the window pane… lulled her into calm, as she stared aimlessly across at the city skyline through the window…a lone tear lurking in the corner of her eye…

Shifting her focus distractedly, from the city sky line, to the rain drops sliding down the window pane and vanish …

"Pal bhar … bas pal bhar ki zindagi…"… she thought to herself… as she watched one particular drop splash against the pane and slip away… her gaze following the little drop on the pane…her eyes sheathed in pain so deep, devoid of a will to see, dream … to hope… devoid of life…

The cool ocean breeze, sent a chill through her, as she shivered , struggling to drape the loose end of her saree over her shoulder, for warmth… and leaned onto the pane… the soft rhythm of the drops against the pane… lulling her to sleep… as she closed her eyes… drifting into a dreamless and tired sleep…

*****

The beat of his ecstatic heart echoing in the silence, deafening his ears, he stood transfixed momentarily outside the wooden paneled door, and the thought of her waiting for him , seeming , strangely , a reality… momentarily… closed his eyes… and slowly pushed open the door …

*****

Feeling the warmth of the rays of the summer sun, through the clear sky, rush through his being, he watched his angel, dressed in blue, serene, like the clear blue summer sky, asleep against the window pane, the rain drops splashing against the pane… reflecting the moonlight…over her soft features…

Looking around, he noticed the caf had been empty except for his angel and a lonely old gentleman at the far end of the room, sipping his coffee, enjoying his evening read…

The old man, noticing him standing there watching her, caught his gaze and smiled knowingly … and returned to his evening read…

Leaning against the table, he let moments pass as he watched her asleep… not wanting to wake his angel, wishing for the moment to never pass… lest his angel disappear…

Caught by a sudden movement , at the corner of his eye, he turned to notice the caf attendee , who smiled , and realizing the essence of the moment for the man he was facing , mouthed a good evening with a slight nod of his head…

Smiling back, he walked over to the counter, and spoke to the caf attendee in a low whisper…

"Good Evening…"…

A distracted glance of the attendee looking past his shoulder , behind him… made him stop mid sentence and turn around…

*****

The faint hum of the rain drops against the window pane, drifting her back from her sleep, she lazily opened her eyes and focused on the scene afore her… the hazy outline of the city skyline visible through the rainy night…

As the visions of the painful moments endured, loomed afore her , she lowered her gaze , only to lift it to take in her surrounding that had been lost on her for the past few hours…

Turning around, realizing that she had, had company when she had walked into the caf, she looked at the old man, who was now watching her with a soft look and smiled …

Smiling back at him… hesitatingly, unable to brush off the thought of a lonesome life that lay ahead, she turned around lowering her gaze… noticing her fingers…

Fiddling with her fingers, she noticed her palms… a distant look in her eyes, as she gazed at the lines on her palm… when a movement at the far end of the room… caught her eye…as she looked up and ahead…

*****

Benumbed by the chill of ocean breeze and a dizzying lightness of being that consuming her, as the reality of the moment, dawned on her… she pulled herself up, wrapping her saree around her, for warmth, never once shifting her gaze…

Her unspoken wish had been heard… it seemed to her, the euphoria of the moment, benumbing her to the soul…as she watched him turn around…

*****

Unquestioning eyes, smile that shone through her eyes, pain so clear that seemed to ebb, as tear escaped down her cheek…

Looking at his angel, deep into her eyes, he knew he had come home…

The dull hum of the drizzle fading away on him, unaware of himself, he stepped forward, to walk over to her… as her eyes watched him approach never once leaving him, lest her dream shatter…

She watched him approach, and pause a step away afore her… as she looked into his eyes… searching… for what her heart had seem to long … all along…

Looking into the unquestioning tearful eyes that looked up at him, that searched his, he let go of all, surrendering to the euphoria of the moment, as the dark clouds cleared and flowed down his face…

Her lips quivered, when he noticed, her gently lowering her gaze, raising her left palm … towards his chest… hesitating as he looked down at her soft face, taking in her soft features, her quivering lips, tearful eyes, soft strands of hair that caressed her cheek…

Hesitating, she reached out to him, her palm close to his chest, yet stopping herself momentarily, before she placed it on his chest…her face lowered, as she shut her eyes…as a tear fell ever so carelessly onto the back of his hand…

The warmth of the tear jerked a reaction, as his palm twitched involuntarily …

Placing her palm on his chest, she lifted her gaze enough to notice him looking down at her…

Feeling her palm on his chest tremble… he felt a tug deep in his heart… the delicate , vulnerable form of her, jerking a tear in a corner of his eye…

The warmth of his presence, the feel of his protective embrace, breaking her restraint, she broke down, burying her face in his chest…as her slender figure trembled against his own…

The warmth of her fragile body trembling against his own seemed to have evoked a deep desire to protect her … as he lifted his arms and held her in an warm embrace…

The warmth of his embrace, the warmth of his arms around her, seemed to whisper a promise … to never let go, to hold her… to be by her side… as she buried her face deeper…desperately wanting to hold on to the feeling forever, her warm tears … sinking into him…

Feeling her body tremble harder, as he held her in an embrace, he realized, how delicate, and vulnerable , she was… and an overwhelming desire consuming him to hold her close and protect her… he held her closer… gently…running his hand through her tresses…

Time stood still, as longing hearts, found solace in the promise of togetherness whispered in silence that faded away into the night as silent echoes…

*****

Moments passed as the two souls, whispered promises of eternity in silence…

Sitting across a table overlooking the ocean line and the city skyline… they watched the rain drops, splash against the pane… a look of complete calm etched in every line of their faces…enjoying the silence… when clearing his throat , in a soft deep voice… he spoke …

"Suno…"…he waited as she turned her gaze from the window to his face… looking at him calmly.. "Kya tum mere saath…"… he noticed her looking at him questioningly… when he continued.. a lil amused, but calm…" mere saath… ek cup chai peeyogi… "… he finished … hesitatingly …nodding towards the surrounding suggesting, right then…

Letting out a deep breath, he realized he had held his breath until he noticed her smile… and nod … lowering her gaze… only to smile… back at him… her smile shining through her deep drown eyes… when he continued … catching her by surprise…" har din…yunhi "… when she looked up… a look of pleasant surprise etched over her features… "zindagi bhar…".. he finished, a sheepish grin playing on his lips, that didn't belie the longing in his eyes… to share the little moments of life… with her, his angel, the key to his life… as she smiled back…and broke into lighthearted giggles, noticing his grin… as he joined her… the tingle of their laughter… breaking the silence of the room… as the skies rained down outside, the angels celebrating their promise of togetherness …

sareeta...
like i told you before...i really liked this.

i love the way in the begining u stressed on the moment...hanging on to that moment lest it slip out of his hands.
his effort to just take a few steps....away from her..u've captured that beautifully...
a shattered unspoken dream..this phrase i loved...a dream never stated...but nutured nevertheless...but now lays shattered....
"a world...that they shared...could have been their world.." im not sayin anythin cos it'll just ruin it.

and his tear falling carelessly...the precious lil tear. girl..keep going

the fact that her photograph calms him down...shows how much she means to him. a mere glance of her smile taken eons ago is seepin relief thru him.

it was the voice that stayed with him...that had called out to him. im not quoting...but this part i can totally relate to :D :D :D...
and of course the line...

The smile would never fade from the girl's face… but it seemed the smile had been lost forever… in the tears of the woman, she had grown to be … a woman in love…

truly thats what she is...a woman in love..her smile was lost now...cos of the pain inflicted by the love..at not being given a chance..to try and explain.

this is wht i perceived yaar....3 more parts na...im waiting...idharichh.

OMG Sareeta, that was fantabulous. You brought out Milind's really really well. The way you described his pain brought tears to my eyes. This was ultimate for me:
As he stared at the girl in the frame…a soft, pained voice…echoed in his ears… "Milind, main jaa rahi hoon…."…a voice that had torn through this heart … that had shattered him… to the soul… the words, words… the seemed so distant now… yet it was the voice… that echoed … loud and clear… the voice , that had called out to him… and yet… he was here… alone… shattered… for life…
I am really short of words to describe this beautiful piece of work Sareeta.Good Work. 👏 👏 .Please do continue.

Sareeta..As usual it was a great experience to read your writing..

Even though i have seen the episode the words that you have written are more powerful than the scene itself.

Even if Milind and Prachi acted out the same thing that you have wriiten it would not make justice to your writing.. awesome written once again..

I loved the words that describe the pain that he is feeling...

Another point that i loved is if she had stayed the thought that goes thru his mind " a dream of a man he could be" truly well thought out..

I also liked it when you said that with the tears she had grown from a girl to a woman....True....so true...

Another splendind work from you! 😳

Do continue soon... 😳
